Question on Blizzard/Fireball Sorceress Skill Points?

I was wondering which tree to max out first for a blizzball sorc. Please tell the ups and downs of each and why you maxed out this tree for your sorc first rather than the other tree.

i dont get it...

why would you start a new thread when theres a guide for it you can post in about 5 cm down the screen...

sry about that yuqing, I only wanted to find a thread in the sorc where I could ask that question because I was thinking of making one but wanted to know which tree would last me until I could get my secondary skill tree was fully powered up, thx.

I leveled both trees simultaneously and used them simultaneously. I did that to take full advantage of all + skills items. Since you don't really see any immune monsters till the very end of normal and then only a few through that and nightmare I used both skills as I set forward. Cast a blizzard spam fireball. Double your damage by casting stuff during the cool down.

I on the other hand maxed the skills in this order:
Blizzard
Glacial Spike
Fireball
Meteor

1 pt into CM and FM when they became available.
Also with Fireball/Meteor i alternated between both for about 10 lvls and then maxed Fireball completly.

When i had Blizzard and GS maxed some Cold immune started appearing but just a few boss monsters. With Merc and the fire damage i had those died easily. Otherwise there was no problem.

I maxed cold skill tree first mainly because of freezing effects of GS which is still viable throughout normal and nightmare.

moderator note: lets remain civil about threadstarting. people might have different reason to do so and seriously it does not hurt, right?

yuqing, if you think a thread/post THAT serious, hit the report button, thx.

Hey Meli, even in Hell GS is viable. By the time you are there you have maxed both GS and Blizzard which synergize each other. Maxed this way GS freezes a pack in hell diff for about 1.33 seconds.

I would max out blizz first because at lower lvls I have always found its dmg nice still, but the delay ends up saving you alot of mana... my fire/lightning sorcs are always bone dry of the blue stuff when it comes to lvling.

EDIT: GS only does about 1k+ dmg though if I recall corectly with nice synergization (made up 100%)

This is true but GS affects all monsters in a 2 yard radius so you can be damaging several and holding them frozen in place while your blizzard tears em to pieces.

That's true as well... I suppose it depends on the area and need... When rushing I always use GS. I also use it when working in groups, because although the dmg isn't as good, it makes it much easier for everyone else. But when soloing in hell or anything like that I go Ice Blast for sure, it just works better for me since my merc gathers em all up for blizz ussualy.

I am using GS in Hell now and its great. Its not about the damage, just about freezing. I maxed blizzard first though. This build is actually fun to play!
