question on Bash skill graphic

Does it cause crushing blow or is it just the graphics? I made a new barb today and when I switched to 1 point bash it looked like I was getting crushing blows (red sparky ball thing). Maybe there is some hidden bonus or maybe it is nothing.

AFAIK it's just the skill animation.

It's certainly just the animation. No innate CB on Bash. It's a shame, too.
