question about dragon talon and other kick moves

well im playing with an assassin but i just noticed that there are also damages for boots..i took a look at assassin thread and read about it but there is something i dont understand...
for example my damage is 110-150 and my Dtalon dmg is 20-30..do i hit 130-180 if i finish my move with a Dtalon ??? is it a boost dmg?

Re: question about dragon talon and other kick moves

I'm not 100% sure that I understand the question - are you using a charge up move and releasing it with Dragon Talon? If so which skills?

For all the kicking finishing moves, the damage from the boots is what counts, not from your weapon. So for a kicker, Myrmidon Greaves are what you should be keeping an eye out for. Watch the strength requirement though. Upped Gore Riders are probably the best boots PvM.

im using a charged up move..blades of ice i guess.im going for phoenix strike..
then finishing it with talon...so when i finish my move with a talon does it add his dmg to my charged up skill and hit together?

Re: question about dragon talon and other kick moves

Well yes , all the "dragon" skills will release any charge ups. But why use dtalon for releasing phoenix strike , isn't dragon claw better for releasing charge ups?

sure..i was just wondering if dragon skills were boost damages when releasing any charged up moves...
and can i use 2-3 charged up moves at the same time.then suddenly switch to my dtalon and release em all...do monsters get the total damage of em?

He knows nothing about kick moves, so there's no way he'll know the answer to this question.

@ronalpdinho - Here's a handy link from the Assassin forum. They'll tell you more than you ever wanted to know about kicking.

http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127905

Specifically for DTalon, the charges are released on the first kick. As far as skills that complement each other, the combo is lackluster. DTalon is frequently used sans charge-ups, as a delivery system for things like crushing blow (with a good set of boots and the right gear, it can be very damaging in its own right, too).

Also, check out the mat/pat list thread. It will give you a good idea of who uses what skill with what. Specifically check out some of the more obscure builds in bold... Anytime somebody makes unusual skill choices, there tends to be an in depth explanation for WHY that skill combination works/doesn't work.

Mat/Pat thread: http://www.purediablo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=734413

Hope this helps.

Re: question about dragon talon and other kick moves

Using Dtalon as a finisher for your charge ups will apply the cold damage upon kicking as well as the kick damage (no claw attack damage).
Using Dclaw to finish will apply the cold damage as well as the claw damage of whichever claw hits first.

Also w/ Dtalon, damage is carried to the kick from elemental charms (not +damage) and various eqpmnt mods such as life/mana steal, crushing blow, as well as most weapon mods (save for ED% and +damage). Venom carries also but is not reported in the LCS.

Re: question about dragon talon and other kick moves

The problem with Dragon Talon is that as you add more skills, you get more kicks. And the charges fro Phoenix strike are released on the first kick. This makes it slow - a 5 kick cycle at the fastest speed takes 7+3+3+3+3 frame = 19 frames, about 0.8 seconds. Dragon claw takes about half this time. As the main damage is from the Phoenix Strike, the kick isn't as important.

Also what you need in your gear for strong kicks is almost exactly the opposite of what you need for a strong Phoenix Strike.
