pvp ww barb questions

I would have just replied to the actual guide thread, but it most likely would have not been read and replied, seeing as how its 4 pages long now.

I am in the process of making a ww pvp barb with the following equipment:

Arreats
Duress armor
gore riders
highlords
raven frost x2
SS
I do not have a good weapon yet, my selections would be from a cheap slection like, death cleaver or something. I do have a perf 5 sock perf 270%ed runemaster i could use though.

1) Would I do ok bvb bvp bvd since i have no eBOTD?
2) Is a shael rune in the ss necessary for ww barb? Or does it not matter, because I if I remeber correctly, long ago, when i would fight zons and when they shot me it would make me stop wwing...
3) I know that you need to put enough str/dex to weild your weapon, but what exact base str/dex do i need?

1) i think u would(do FAIRLY well) but u would HAVE to use OW/DS maybe CB and master a bit different combat tactics(well it also depends would you be fighting in pubbys or private). aldo i dont think you would stand a chance against a skilled barb with botd - my advice: try to get that botd, its not that hard :thumbsup:
2)dont even think about it, non weapon ias doesn't affect ww
3)just take the req of your heaviest item and subtract the item bonuses to attributes(Sorry mate im a bit lazy to do so myself :uhhuh: )

shael is not nessessary, try socketing a 40%ed jewel or a p dia.

Shael in Stormshield is not attackspeed kakarot.
In this case it give a faster block rate.

ow/ds is indeed best way to go for pvp barbs but cb wont do that much compared to ow & ds & getting eth botd ba is hard when you're not rich or not even close
fury bb/ba & beast ba & death cleaver (even noneth) are also viable options

blockspeed with clean ss on barb = 35% = 20% bp = 5fpa
add a shael to that & you'll get 55% = 42% bp = 4fpa
can help a bit but imo its not worth it

with 2*raven + highlords you wont have enough ar to kill a decent bvb'er, for that u need 2*angelic rings + angelic amu

& about the min str/dex i cant really say, no idea what charms u will use & no idea what anni u will use

Its a ww barb,block rate doesnt matter,since there is no block animation in ww.But against some classes it is helpful,but hey you are better of dualwielding most things not barb.Cham ss & use dual angelics like Dahmer said.

but if you're dedicated barb player your first priority is to equip him(and u know the price is high), so start heavy mfing, rerolling, hf rushing - whatever, and eventally you'll get there. btw i haven't been able to afford ebotd ba for a long time, but now i'm sooo close :clap:

I could also make kingslayer in an axe, since ive already got 5 pts in axe mastery. But Mal and and the runes required are out of my price range. So im gonna end up using a unique prolly.

About the double ravens, how much AR is +1 dex? If i put an eth rune in one of the runemaster sockets then would that not be enough ar?

for bvb? no & dont count on the + ar from the dex on ravens because u cant go higher than 75% block with your dex

so in total
ravens + highlords setup = ~ 300-500 ar, 30-40dex (results in 120-160life) & 1 skill & deadly strike
2*angelic rings + amu = 1920-2376ar (lvl80-99), 115life, +12 replenish life & 20% dmg to mana

huge difference in attack rating so angelic is the only way to go for bvb

soul drainers (-50% def)
2x razors edge axe (100% deadly strike) (100% OW) (-66%def)

100% ow & ds is indeed good, but not with those axes, range 1 weapons are kinda worst choise for ww barbs

best choise for you from all those uniques weapons is death cleaver (only choise imo)

Hmm but how does -% def works.
What if I used

Firstly,kingslayer doesnt take zerk axe to lwbp.you need a -5 base weapon to get there with the 30% from kingslayer.Warspike gets there but not only is it range 2 but its avg damage is lower-39 compared to highland's 42 which is range 3 as well.Not to mention the better looks.

-% defense gives you a hardly anybenefit against characters with enhanced defense,not only because it works at 50% effectiveness against players but also because....:

The defense cut on any targets with enhanced defense% like barbs is applied on the enhanced defense%:

For e.g: base defense of a barb:3000: enhanced defense 600%,final defense:21000.
Attacking him with an eth rune wont bring his defense to: 21000*(-12.5%)=21000-2625=18375.Thats incorrect.It works like this:

Base defense 3000,reduced enhanced defense: 600-12.5=587.5%,final defense:3000*+587.5%=20625.

Note:eth rune effectiness halfed to 12.5%

Secondly on-weapon attack mods from individual weapons are not shared when dualwilding,so dualwielding razors edge wont give you 100% ow,100%deadly,-66% target defense.On weapon mods will trigger only when that weapon hits & not stacked with the other weapon.The offweapon mods are applied to both weapons however,for e.g:the 33%openwounds on duress would apply to both weapons when dualwielding.
