PvP Melee - Max Conc Or WW?

Making a baba for pvp purposes only.
Mostly will be for dueling melee chars (Zealot, SMiter, Druid, WWsin)
and occasional Tele + ww for sorcs and trapsins.

Ok, so was wondering. Should I max Conc for Huge defense bonus and 1 point into WW, or Does maxing Shout, and Bo, with bonuses from Bash and Ironskin give enough Def(upwards of 25k) and Damage bonus(7k+).

I dont know barbs well, so I dont even know if Conc compares to WW in melee. Wouldnt conc be a better choice for melee for the Def bonus?
 
ww is by far the best for all-around dueling, since it is a much more mobile skill. You can attack things while moving, which you can't do with conc. It is much easier to hit casters with ww than with conc. In melee, conc does kick serious butt. However if an equally equipped conc barb ever goes up against a ww barb, the conc barb will lose most battles. ww just dominates, since it is at max a 4fpa skill, while conc is only a 9fpa skill. both are uninterruptible, so blocking is important but fhr isn't.
 
Aye, just as Gooey said, on equally equipped characters, the whirler will win virtually every match. Against other melee builds, conc is awesome, since it has such high defense and can't be interrupted like the others, but going up against a whirler, it just can't compete with mobility :/

dont forget the 1 in battle command :lol:
 
for a pvp'er 1 in nat res is more than enough. And bash is an all or nothing skill that is used instead of iron skin. Usually the dmg from bash is considered inferior to the def gain from iron skin.

You'll want a point of berserk, more than likely, the help with leveling, as it's the only skill you have to get around PI and IM.

So:

20 BO, Shout, Mastery, Whirl

19 Ironskin

1 BComm, Berserk, Nat Resist, Inc Speed, pre-reqs

That equals 110 points, which is level 99 with all quests.

Stat wise:

152 dex (coming to 222 with BotD, Arreat's, 20 stat annihilus; I don't count raven dex, since you'll need angelics for melee)

81 str (101 with 20 stat annihilus, 131 with BotD berserker axe, which will let you equip Stormshield, Arreat's, and a duress/stone/enigma archon; you can go a bit less if you plan on using drac's full-time, since they have +10-15 str on them, but I like being able to use different gloves for different situations)

rest into vit

But OW from dracs pretty much beats most other gloves. Only options I can think of are:
bloodfist
steelrends
trangs (for fcr vs casters)

but even then, OW does some nasty damage.
 
blood gloves that can get 5-10% crushing blow can be pretty awesome too.

EDIT: yeah cb isn't so good in pvp, but then there's still 6 more mods on it, including some +life, which can add in with the random mod if it's +life. You can get some nasty combinations with it.

and don't bother with conc I made a conc barb before and he sucked. Not only is it practically useless against good casters it's not that good in MvM either.

It's definitely not good vs. good casters, but in melee it's only bad against ww.

It might not even take me that long. Normally when I want to level a character fast, takes me 2 days to get to 80. 80 to 90 about 1-2 days.90-95 takes about 3 days. 95-99 is about 4-5 days.
IM a game addict though, especially when Leveling a new character or Mfing. Ill spend 18 hours straight infront of the comp.

Why you have to say conc sucks =\. Now I dont know what to make.. bah you ruined it. I want friggin High defense. Around 25k+ after everything.

Got a question, fanat zealot vs WW barb, who wins? or even a zerk/conc barb.
 
don't listen to him. I know enough good conc barbs that can dominate most melee. They have more trouble against mobile targets than ww since it's a slower swing and you have to stop to swing, but its uninterruptible attack makes it an underrated skill. It will net you at least 1.5 times as many hits against interruptible attacks, since you will never go into either blocklock or hit recovery.

Don't get me wrong, ww does better against all targets than conc, but that doesn't mean conc sucks. ww is just so godly that it's unstoppable with a skilled person controlling it. Of course the gear has something to do with it, so mehatesmaphack might have just worn the wrong setup in the instances where he was beat.
