Pus Spitter (Siege Crossbow)

I recently found the pus spitter unique siege crossbow ((50-64) - (105-134) Dmg). Its a necromancer crossbow in case you didnt know. I am planning on following the fishymancer guide stickied at the top of the forum. My question is since I am planning on using this bow which dex requirement is only 28 should I still put all of these points into dex to get max block? Or is this a good enough weapon to keep equipped for the whole game and so those points into dex can go into vitality?

And if I dont put any points into dex am I gonna be able to hit anything with this weapon anyways?

I never really see the point of a fishymancer going for dex, because he should'nt be getting close to monsters anyway - his skellies will. If you are using that crossbow and no shield I don't even think you even have blocking at all?

for one, epure is right, no shield with a xbow. as for max block, some people like to go and fight with their minions(i think there are 2 or 3 guides about this), so max block can be useful. of course, adding to dex decreases likelihood to be hit, but i dont think that that is significant enough alone to warrant excessive points in dex.

If you are really keen on the whole poison Xbow thing, you can use Angelic ammy + ring combo to up the AR. But then again it is not the best option as you will lose out on the ammy and ring skill slots.

If I dont pump the dex or use angelic I wont be able to hit anything right?

There are other ways to get AR. Dex is just a bad choice of source for it; you get something like 4 AR per point in dex, while a single grand charm can give you around 100 AR.
