Pure Fury Werewolf, need advice

Hello fellow Druid players.

I've decided to go for a Fury Werewolf as my first Druid. I've been considering going Rabies/Fury Hybrid but I doubt I will see any Physical Immune monsters in my first run through the game because there is a big chance that I will join the fallen at the start of nightmare. Anyway, after spending a few days researching the skill Fury and studying the arts of Druid Shapeshifting I've decided to just take the simple plain ol' Fury path. This is how my build plan looks thus far:

Skills

Lycanthropy 20
Werewolf 20
Fury 20
Spirit* 20
Raven 1

Stats

Vit, base
Dex, enough for end-game weapon of choice
Energy, base
Str, rest

I may be suicidal going for base Vit on my first character but I think I can pull it off! However, I think my skill distribution could be improved upon. I have a few questions regarding my build plan...

* Regarding Spirit, should I go Oak to help with my base Vit or use HoW for maximised damage?
* Also, which Merc should I hire to help me rid the evil from our troubled lands?

Regards,

A Few things that most werewolf builds do: Don't max Werewolf. All it gives is Attack Rating and 1 or 2 IAS after awhile. Check the Fury speed calculators that are listed around here for how many points you need.

Rabies builds can be fun. You can save points and use the skill charge bug by equipping carrion wind, or you can max poison creeper and use it... it's a good little pet.

tehre nothign wrong with maxing werewolf, more ar=more hitting=more leech, theres nothign wrong with that. Oak, and a holy freeze mercenary. Get a grizzly bear, they are nice, takes alot and dishes out alot

You can easily max both spirits, however this probably would appeal more to a pvp build...is this pvm or pvp?

I'm doing a str fury wolf at the moment and I think it's going fine. Since I'm poor I will leave dexterity at base and use bonehew as an end game weapon.

My plan is basically what Tor said, maxing WW last.

I did a weird rabies feral rage hybrid earlier(no carrion wind and 1 point feral) with everything in strength and it worked well enough, but the rabies wasn't that effective so I decided to do a pure fury one.

I agree, rabies doesn't do so hot in PvM, but it is fun to mess around with. :D In PvM you shouldn't need to use anything other than fury/feral. Good luck and have fun!!!

May I suggest you use Oak since you are going base vita, if you find it pointless you can always max HoW at higher levels. IMO a point into raven is a waste you might as well save that point for HoW or Oak whichever sage you pick to max last.
