Pots for merc- is there an easier way?

So my current merc seems to need a LOT of pots to keep him going, and at level 57 it gets expensive to ressurect him if I'm too slow with a bottle.

I'm thinking there must be a better way than I do it, which is: slide the cursor down to the belt, grab a health pot, and drag the dursor up to his icon and dump the pot on it. When I'm fighting, this is a time consuming method, so I'm wondering if you know a better way?

Hmm been a while since I have been playing but I think it is shift and right click on the pot or, shift and the number of the pot

pwnd *goes back to the shadows and mumble something about kellyy using speedh4x*

the Dark Brotherhood got you?

With a decent headgear (like Vampiregaze) and an AMN socketed in his weapon, he should be pretty fine. Ranged mercenaries are ok with some DR and resists.

If they are not, then exactly as Kellyyy said, Shift+number gives a potion to your merc.

Although that might be true most of the time, it's not always. Think of physical immune monsters, so he cannot leach. Or for more fun, stone skin, extra fast, extra strong, cursed boss packs with might, fanaticism or conviction. Ideally you'd want three to four bosspacks each with a different aura. Then see how your merc survives.

Btw, back on topic, although the shift 1-4 works, if you change some of those keys, you will of course need to use a different combination.

If this is the situation, I'd suggest a few different approaches.

1. RUN!!
2. Back up and pick off a pack at a time.
3. Go to town and chose a new area.
4. Save & Exit.

Edit: As far as the button customization, I usually always have my #4 belt slot as the spacebar which is filled with rejuv's. It can come in handy as a lifesaver. (The only time I don't is for Sorc's where I have that belt slot for Mana potions...its not hand to hand, so its rare that I'm that close to an instant death).

Yep, the shift and 1,2,3,4 key.

If I notice that my merc is getting beat on real bad it's a full rejuv ... if there are archers around and he's getting whittled down then it's a big red so he's constantly healing.

Once you get used to it - it becomes second nature.

Now, the thing I don't know is whether you can customize that shift-number combination? Haven't tried it. Assigning one button to do this would be great.

Thanks to all for the help. And, I hope your right, that a single key can work, because I'm not very good at fighting and finding a key combo!::sad2:
