People often trade for what they need for what they've got. Ive traded for pgs worth stuff for a shako because thats all I had to trade but needed a lower item! I win cos I fulfilled my needs and the trader wins cos they gain a higher value item! Everyone wins!
If you take pleasure in ripping off a newbie- maybe this isn't the forum for you!!

BTW in general, this thread is about lucky trade's not scams, good example lucky is see above.
Scamms is the story about the last minute swap of plate.

Firstly, I bought my pretty good faith for 3 hrs (14/2/2) which was I thought was pretty nice. A few days later I joined a game named; "N faith fast" or something. He showed 3 hrs and I denied it because I expected more and I wanted to earn from seling my faith. Then he just showed his Dragon(RW). That's about 2-3 hrs if i'm right? so i basically earned the double amount i bought it for :)

This is on nonladder, so prices are quite different than ladder on some items.

I've traded a hel rune for a high rune not once, but twice.
I once traded a low hoto for a dream shield. You have to consider that dream is a ladder only item and so is worth around 9 high runes while a hoto is worth 1 or 2.

I was trying to make my first ever enigma... I had an ist, 2 mal, 5 puls and wanted a jah or ber. So I created a game called "Need Jah" and waited...

After I had like... 4 people come in and ask "wug?" (what's so hard about typing "what do you have?") and I told them "1 ist and 4 pul"... they laughed at me and said things like "nice 1 buddy" and quit before I could up my offer.

But then... this guy came in and put 2 jah, 2 ber and 1 ohm in the trade window!? I put in my 1 ist and 4 pul and he clicked the green check button. Don't know if he was being nice? Or he didn't understand? Or maybe he was rolling in HR's from buying them with a credit card... I asked him "seriously?" and he just said "yep".

After nearly 50 Countess runs, I finally got a Sur rune to drop.

The next day some necro was asking everyone in a baal run game if anyone had a sur and so I said I did. I then joined one of his private games and he came with a barb full of good stuff. Eventually I got 1 mara's ammy (forgot the stats but they were pretty good), 1 bk ring, and 1 psn sc (around 400 psn damage i think).

I was careful not to pick the "bigger" things he showed like +5 bo cta or 386/35 grief because i suspected the guy was aware of the pricing for each. So i kind of stalled the trade with some nice talk and quickly picked 2 "small" things (2 rings).

The amazing thing is, the guy just said "ok" and even dropped me a sc (the psn one) after saying "thanks a lot". He told me it was good for my melee character and he didn't need it.

Traded a Pul for a SoJ. The guy wasnt even really looking for one nor did he offer only garbage for it. Just liked Puls I guess.

I forgot about this one. There was another time where I joined a game called CoA 4 HR. Knowing to expect it was someone who would somehow try to bull**** me, I simply go in, show him my Ber, and he shows me a very nice CoA. When I check the green, the screen drops and he apologizes saying he clicked the wrong button. When we go back to the trade screen, exactly as I thought he would, he places a fake Crown and quickly checks the green. This time I surprise him and exit, then apologize saying I clicked the wrong button. The guy, thinking I did not notice his fake, quickly repeats the process however this time he places the real CoA by mistake. We quickly trade and we both stand there in silence for a moment. Then the guy says something like, "oh... uh, could we trade back?" and I simply leave. One of the rare times a scam backfires. :)

Ive gotten many disgusting trades, but 2 that stand out in my mind are one time on east nl i traded a guy 4 7mf scs for a druid pelt, 2 druid, 3nado,2armaggedon, 2 sockets, with other stats, later i was offered 3k+ fg for it. and just a couple weeks ago i traded a guy a ber rune for a 285/38str beast zerker, which is 15%ed base Perfect damage roll on a beast, with 2 off perfect str, ive seen other 285 beasts with less strength selling for 10+ hrs

At first I thought you meant on Non-Ladder where a Griffon goes for like 25 HRs. I nearly crapped my pants and was about to tell you what a terrible mistake you made when I remembered that like 95% of this site plays Ladder.

Yesterday on east ladder, I got an arreats face for 7pgems :smug:

Earlier that night I grabbed an IK helm for free. My barb didn't know what to do with himself after that :thumbup:

I don't know much about item value but I think I got the better deal when I traded IK boots for a Chaos Armor Bramble. It's only 15/31, but considering I've seen the boots go for pgems...

Let's see...

I "traded" a bug rush and a 1-60 Chaos leveling to my friend for a full Frostmaiden setup. Ice bow, Chains of Honor, 20/-5 Nightwings, Torch, Anni, skillers, and the rest of the whole shebang.

The rush along with the leveling took a grand total of 2 hours. Incidentally, I also found an Ist and Pally Combat GC while doing the Chaos runs.

During the days before public dupe was patched I traded: 1 HR -> 40~ Prubies -> "other currency" -> 40 HRs. And it did it more than once.

Unfortunately I was not made aware of the patch until I had traded away most of my newfound wealth for way less than I could've got had I only known.

A week ago or something I joined a game called N Eth fast (Ladder) he asked me to trade and once i accepted and put the eth rune into the trading space he puts up Wizardspike, Crown of Thieves and 1 pgm! i mean thats wicked man :P GREAT!!
