Patriarch Orange, Molten Boulder/Armageddon Druid

Orange is the first character to complete his journey in my Colour-Coded Sept. For those that don't know, or are too lazy to click that link right there, The sept is based around having one character class respresent each of the seven colours of the rainbow. Basically, all gear must adhere to the chosen colour, as well as skills where possible.


Aldurs set being orange made the choice for this colour to be a druid very easy, and a fire elemental druid was a natural choice since, well, fire is orange. I made him as a Molten Boulder/Armageddon druid to do something a little bit different than the typical Fissure/Firestorm builds. First off let's get to his stats, and some notes on his journey and some final thoughts will follow.

Other Notes and Final Thoughts
- He was very simple gear-wise, and due to wearing a full class-specific set had a pile more safety and firepower than was necessary, as well as filling lots of gaps that their gear combinations could miss. I didn't feel hindered by gear selection at all with him, at any point.
- Skill-wise he was also very straightforward. Fire druids are very powerful early game, and the set bonuses and facets allowed him to remain that way throughout. Also, having Oak Sage be orange was a nice bonus.
- Still, he had 2 deaths. One due to Armaggedon annihilating a pack of dolls right in his face (note; don't use Armageddon around dolls!) and the other from a nasty archer boss pack in the Bloody Foothills (and a touch of carelessness on my part).
- Armageddon was WAY stronger than I thought it would be for questing. It handled /p3 Hell with no troubles (other than immunities, of course), and that's without the Volcano synergy.
- Molten Boulder is fun. The only downside to it is that its effectiveness tanks when it can't knock back certain monsters, and it's troublesome in places like Act 3 that are populated with small speedy monsters. Still, a very good main or complimentary skill to mess around with.
- I definitely recommend this build, with or without the gear restrictions. It was super fun and very viable to take through Hell.

Great character and write up. Interesting to hear that he managed p3 well enough as single tree. I guess infinity helped limit FI unbreakables and the rest could be managed?

Looking forward to the next six :D

Infinity was definitely key, yes. Only a few unbreakable FIs really, mostly relegated to the final two acts. The biggest of course would be Lister and his pack, but other than them everything was pretty manageable.
