Black is the tenth character to complete his journey in my Colour-Coded Sept Project. The project is based around having one character class respresent each of the seven colours of the rainbow, as well as the 4 additional colours available for equipment. Basically, all gear must adhere to the chosen colour of the character, as well as skills where possible.

The build was a no-brainer, as there is really only one skill you can call 'black' in the game. Of course this meant no skeletons, mages, CE, or curses, so that was a bit of a fun twist. I decided to add in Iron Golem, even though he isn't technically black, with the caveat that he be made only from black items. I needed to use skill points on SOMETHING, after all!

Other Notes and Final Thoughts

- Definitely not the fastest character out there. Revives have a terrible leash, so they don't 'snap' as well as merc/skellies do. This if course means that you have to progress quite slowly if you don't have access to teleport.

- Speaking of which, that was a TON of minions to wrangle. Any stealth is completely out the window, and you're constantly trying to balance between your fast and slow minions to keep everyone together. Again, teleport would have fixed this.

- Constant army upkeep is a bit of a drag too, due to the timer. I wish it was a minute or two longer, but at least it gave me something to do since I couldn't use any curses. Still though, I'd recommend this build and it's a fun new take on a traditional summoner. I'll probably re-make a telestomping version one day to fully test out the power.

- It's super fun playing around with different monster types. Some are really lackluster, obviously, but having a massive army of Brutes/Frenzytaurs/Snakes is quite fun.

Favourite Revives
Obvious:
- Thorned hulks/Urdars/Frenzytaurs: Big beefy stunning machines? Yes please!
- Any kind of Rogues: Super fast, and they swarm really well
- Vipers: Super aggressive, and the KB really works to keep monsters out of the way.

Not-so-obvious:
- Ghosts: Strong and durable, but the true benefit is that they stack. One of the few times where your whole army can really work together on tough opponents.
- Witches: A group of them can machine gun their way through pretty much anything. And they're fast!

Least Favourite Revives
Zombies. They walk slowly, attack slowly, and almost always just end up poofing before getting a chance to fight. I wouldn't even want these guys if I had teleport.

Speed is king for revives on a non-teleporting build. Otherwise a nice mix of speed for the front line, and then power/CB types behind would work wonders on a telestomping variant.

Shame there are so few black items in the game, it looks so cool. I have something planned for Courpsemourn and Darksight too.

@Miron CE Charges are 910 gold per shot. What a bargain.

I am always disappointed that Black Hades is grey. I would use it on many more builds if it was actually black.
Doombringer should be black too.

I do agree Revives without telestomping is somewhat underwhelming..

As for least favorite revives, I'm surprised no mention of Gloams... Just one can give you a heart attack!! 😅
