Charles Mingus Sextet with Eric Dolphy - Cornel 1964: Johnny Coles-trumpet; Eric Dolphy- alto sax, flute, bass clarinet; Clifford Jordan- tenor sax; Jaki Byard- piano; Charles Mingus-bass; Dannie Richmond-drums. Brilliant performances from all.
(soon to be followed by: The Great Concert of Charles Mingus - the same group life in Paris, recorded 2 months later. Johnny Coles got sick a night or two before this date and missed the rest of the tour, and Eric Dolphy died 6 weeks or so later from Diabetes. Friggen Awesome Hard Bop. Yep.)

After some roundabout talk about the artists that originally got me interested in electronic music, I've been thinking about tunes from the past. In my brain it somehow evolved into music from movie soundtracks... so here's what I've fleshed out! Mind you, they're older movies, so take the '90 flair with a grain of salt. :thumbup:
From Hackers, it's The Prodigy's Voodoo People.
A tune you'd partially recognize from Me, Myself, and Irene - Fire Like This by Hardknox.
Does anyone care to out themselves and say they've seen Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? The movie was poor, but the soundtrack was surprisingly decent at times. From the 'Best Of' list, we've got Genius by Pitchshifter, Leave U Far Behind by Lunatic Calm, and the track Anomaly, subname Calling Your Name (which was also featured in American Pie; it's the scene where Jim is stripping on his webcam for Nadia).

i listen to insomnium and they have elements of it, definitely (at the gates of sleep i believe has some)
