OT: What are you listening to right now

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

I've been listening to the various Korean pop/rock songs featured in the insanely cute There She Is!! series.

Asian pop-music is strangely addictive.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

I just started the album "Sex Packets" by Digital Underground

While commonly discounted for only The Humpty Dance, it's secretly one of the best Hip Hop albums of the 90s. 7 or 8 very solid tracks.

/yo piano man, playhowyalike!

Magic Bus by The Who anyone?

The Version on their album: "Live At Leeds" is superb!

Agreed. Watching streaming SC games I'd hear some snippits of songs quite often and typically find myself still humming them (even though I only understood every fifth word or so) days later.

Korean rap, on the other hand, is one of my most hated types of music ever. Probably only surpassed by French rap. *shudders*

To be on topic: just finished: Damien Rice - Insane

up next: gonna be watching an SC Vod, so I'll be listening to excited Korean dudes. "Plaguuuuuu!"

I've liked nearly all the Japanese rap I've heard (though it's not much). And the best French rap is from TTC, hands down. These remixes from Modeselektor (found here, a-here, and h-h-h-here) are chopped and screwed, just like it should be. Banging. But still, most of their original stuff makes me cringe.

I've come across some JPop that I can't seem to hate. It's from the group YMCK, and all their music sounds like it came straight from a Nintendo/Famicom or a GameBoy (which I'd classify as Chip Tunes). I find it surprisingly interesting and their videos are pure 8-bit; to me if feels like I'm playing an old version of Katamari Damacy. But I can't take more than an hour before I switch to some heavy drum 'n bass to get my genitals back.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

I've heard Mongolian rap. That was a bizarre experience, I can tell you that.

I also can't stand russian rap, either.

Ok, I can't stand most rap at all, to be honest.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

i'm starting to lean more towards the old-school rap in the US if any rap... i rarely listen to rap, but something like wu-tang clan i wouldn't mind too much

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

If your going to start listening to rap, definitely start with old-school. Then you will see how it's gone steadily downhill from there.

Most of the hip-hop I listen to comes from the late 80's to mid/late 90's. I don't know if any of you consider rap and hip-hop different genres of music. I do.

That being said I also listen to a lot of rap as well :smug: I find hip-hop more relaxing and fun to dance to, while rap hypes me up/ get's me ready for the day/night if I need a wake up call.

Which leads me into my song selection for the moment.

Postal Service - Recycled Air (Acoustic Version) :badteeth:

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

I'm with Nagisa on the Rap front (it rhymes with a description of it actually).

My Song - Two Left Feet - The Holloways.
Listening on last.fm, which is excellent.

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

Little Snippet from my random shuffle on iTunes:
The District Sleeps Alone Tonight- Postal Service
Mardy Bum- The Arctic Monkeys
Shout Me out- Tv on the Radio
In my head- Queens of the stone age
The Food- Common ft Kanye

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

In Extremo - Liam (recommend it to anyone)

in a second: Wintersun - Starchild (definitely not recommended for people who are not very familiar with metal)

Re: OT: What are you listening to right now

I usually listen to drum + bass but lately iv'e been trying out some new music. Stuff like Shulman, Entheogenic and Bluetech, it's pretty ambient music, but if your into that then check out those 3 above if you haven't already got their music :P

Half the time though i leave the ingame effects turned on, especially in Hell. I find listening to music while playing causes an increase in deaths
