OT: The Daily Thread

RL: just returned from vacation. Went south and west. Not horrible, but not good weather either. Caught some pretty good Pokémon though (4 shinies and 2 new adds to the dex)

D2: not really recently.

OVG: still in go which has another event this Saturday (in the middle of a maelstrom), and now waiting on total war three kingdoms to come out. I’ve always dreamed that total war would take up my favorite period of history. Will probably buy a new laptop just for this game.

RL: Went to dinner by myself last night at this local bar. I had the open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and green beans. I've been on the Keto kick for the last few months trying to work off this weight I've put on and it's working spectacularly but Jesus Christ those carb cravings are horrible. That meal was the tastiest thing I've put in my body in a very long time. Delicious. So I finished dinner and stayed to have a couple of drinks and talk baseball with the bartender. A guy and girl came up to me. They recognized me from another academy I taught at. It was really cool to catch up with those two. It was a very welcome break from my hotel.

Went hiking for two hours this morning. I'm going to miss Colorado. I'll be heading to Coos Bay, Oregon here in a few days to hang out with a friend from college and then on the 8th I'll be heading over to Eugene, OR for a month.

D2: Working on a HC Untwinked Windy. Mid-40's, Act 1 nightmare. Running NM countess for spirit runes and hopefully come across a 4os sword of some sort.

OVG: Metro Exodus is kinda cool. I own almost every single major release for the PS4 via digital library and I don't find a single game to really be very exciting. I like to get drunk and play rocket league. That's about it. Nothing really interests me anymore. What I am definitely waiting on is this video game bubble to burst. I want the government to send Activision Board of Directors to Guantanamo Bay and Blizzard to break free. I want these game developers to unionize. I want EA to suffer such monetary losses that they completely change up their business practices. I can't help but feel that the only way I am going to enjoy video games again is if the industry suffers another burst like that from 1983-1984. So many games get released and none of them are special. It's a sea of mediocrity. Most importantly is I want the Star Wars license pulled from EA and EA banned from ever producing anything but new IP's because they fucking ruin everything they touch. I know this is a weird rant but I'm tired and it feels good.

I have one of the Metro games, but even though it got very good reviews, I couldn't get into it at all. Too bad, but I can see why it's atmosphere drags people in.

RL: it's unusually warm for the time of the year in Belgium. Yesterday even set a new record as hottest day in February ever. Such things definitely worrie me. Setting these aside, I did enjoy my 2+ hour run yesterday afternoon, getting some hill practice.

Speaking of running, with the Zugspitz Supertrail XL coming in June, it's getting time for me to get some more mileage in. Problem is that it's so busy I'll have a hard time squeezing in the runs. Ah well, in the end it always works out well, and I often get to run in places I haven't been before, because it's a matter of combining trips out with the family or with friends and running, in which case I run back home from the place we visit at the time.

D2: after the demise of my untwinked 99er HC Hammerdin, I leveled up a twinked SC variant. He's currently level 90 and doing well in CS. Other than that I still have my SC WW Barb in the untwinked 99er challenge, and I'm questing a FA/Strafe Amazon through the game. The RFL is also coming up, starting out with the first round mid March. Next to some Zods I hope to find at least one Sur, so I can make Hand of Justice for a HoJ / Phoenix Fireclaws Bear.

OVG: the next Grim Dawn expansion is coming next month. I really shouldn't try to play something else alongside D2 though.

RL: Mixed day today. Work has been pretty chaotic the past few days and today was no exception.

Just finished filing a complaint to my tv provider (or previous tv provider depending on who you're asking). I cancelled my subscription there online. Got an email confirming that they received my request, but that this did not meant it was final. I would receive a call back within 2 weeks. Which i did. So now (a month later) i see them wanting me to pay for next month. I cancel my payment. Today i got an email that i should pay. So i phone them. Person i'm talking to says they have absolutely no record of the email i'm looking at while i'm talking to him, nor of the call back they did.
So my only option was to pay for the moment to prevent i'd become a defaulter and to file a complaint. So i just finished doing both. Jup good times.

On the upside...during lunchbreak i usually take a walk outside and often i'm passing a cute girl that walks almost the same round, just in opposite direction. So today again i met her about halfway and since both of us were walking alone i asked if she would mind if i joined her. So i walked back with her and got to know her a bit. I enjoyed it. She seemed to enjoy it as well. And she even said yes when i asked if we could do it again. So next week i'm picking her up for a walk (so weather, please don't spoil!). Don't know if it'll just stick to walking a bit together or if it will turn into more, but so far so good.

D2: Is this something you can eat?

OVG: More ESO.

Nice. Do you have something else lined up?
