OT: The Daily Thread

RL: I've been trying to sell my car for awhile now, unfortunately no one in my country is really a fan of turbocharged petrol engines with a bit more horsepower. I finally got a call yesterday from an interested person whose coming to see it later today. Fingers crossed I finally get rid of it so I can buy the car I actually want

D2: The itch is temporarily gone. We'll see when it will resume.

OVG: Been playing a bit of FIFA and probably will be starting a new career mode. This game never gets old for a football fan. A bit of Euro Truck Simulator 2 as well, it's just so surprisingly relaxing.

I am also really considering the WoW Classic re-launch. I know I won't have nearly enough time for it but it really bugs me. I'm a huge Pre-Cata fan although I've never played the game seriously. Currently dabbling in a WotLK server.

Congratulations @T72on1 , very impressive achievement.

RL: Last few days of harder training before this in just over a week:

D2: I have been pushing four characters up to get ready to start Hell, want to get the third to 77 for Kira’s tonight.

OVG: I’m starting building a mini MAME cabinet based on a Raspberry Pi. Need to finish the control layout design and get the hardware working next.

Oh let's see...
RL: Lots of yard work to do, having to fit it in when I can with all the rainy days around here.

D2: Lots going on...have my javazon running LK for Enigma and Infinity runes, need to put together an intro post for her and officially enter her in the untwinked 99er challenge
. Started a hard core trapsin for the overburdened tournament. Also playing some bnet ladder with a friend from work which with the recent reset has been consuming my play times at the moment. Going for Nova/ES build there...will see how that goes. I have many other chars planned/started in SP also...bone necro, Nova necro, summon druid, plans for a twinked auradin at some point.

OVG: none right now...don't really have time to spread between games.

RL: One shift to go before D&D on Monday. I'm hoping it will end with us being level four. It's been tough finding time to read up on DM'ing my own campaign, but I'm hoping to start something after the summer rush is over at work. I bought a couple of books to help me brush up on the rules. It's probably the first thing I've 'learned' since I've been sober and that both scares and excites me.

D2: The BlizzBaller found an Um, plain Jewel of Fervor, Marrowalk, Crown of Thieves. Nothing major but familiar finds that made me smile as a returning player rebuilding their wealth from scratch.

OVG: Rocket League. Finally hit Champion rank for the first time after two years as a lowly Diamond. It won't last but it felt good.

RL: Working on putting a sidewalk around our screened in porch to have a nice place to set the grill. Leveling up the base is rather a bit of work.

D2: Ever come back to a character after a few months and wonder WTF you were doing? Yeah, I fired up a softcore sorc, Renet_Tilley, I had started a few months ago trying to get her ready for AT for round 3 of RFL. Hit hell at lvl 64 but her gear is horrendous and I just stopped trying and focused on the javazon for arcane instead. quick gear review...0 FCR? On a sorc? What WAS I doing? Anyway, respecd from orb baller to ES/nova because I just find the build more fun. Now back to NM for some gear drops. Another destined to be an untwinked 99er. Has MFO to get ready for now though.

OVG: none

RL: Since my last post my D&D character died in Monday's session, along with everyone else as part of a Total Party Kill. I haven't dealt with grief much since I've been sober. It was worse than any video game death I've ever had. Regardless, I've rolled a new character and am happy with his stats and story. Work's been tough as the pre-summer heatwave hits Cornwall. My weekend is Monday and Tuesday, which will include the first D&D session with everyone's new characters.

D2: Some progress with the BlizzSorc, who is now a BlizzBaller. I parked her in A2 Hell for the moment.

OVG: I picked up Doom 2016 in the Steam sale. It's pretty badass. Maybe some Rocket League as it's Saturday.

Have a good weekend, SPF!

RL: short upcoming week due to Tuesday being holiday and Friday I’m taking off so I can visit my sister in NH.

D2: not really.

D3: I broke down and bought D3 with exp for PS3. Its been interesting so far. Died to a group of undead in a crypt already ( playing a demon hunter for my first char).

OVG: one terrible event in wizards unleashed, one good event in Pokémon go. Got two shiny Raikous. Made level 15 ravenclaw prof in the other one. Formal event for wizards is next weekend though. Looking forward to it.

Doom 2016 looks to be great indeed !

Been wishing there was more chatting on the forum lately, especially while I've been bored at work, so I thought I'd post here for the first time!

RL: Bored at work, but overall work has been going well. Things in general going well if a bit hectic. Apartment wants to charge us $200 more per month to stay on after current lease is up in September... so should probably figure out that situation.

D2: Making good progress on untwinked 99er. The CS runs are beginning to feel more like a chore, but I will take a break after this weekend and play other characters. Probably mostly try to find a decent pit map for barb in prep for MFO. Maybe start a pally as well.

OVG: None, but I've been thinking I should take a month off D2 or something and play through some SNES games. Or finally start portal 2 or baldurs gate 2 which have been sitting unused on my PC a while now. Ehhhh we'll see. Maybe after MFO :P

@T72on1 belated congrats on the ultra! Sounds insane!
@maxicek how did the swim go? How about the MAME project? I put together a pi emulator a while back but didn't want to take on the project of a cabinet. Sounds fun though!

Thanks :). Already making plans for another one of those next year. And of course a few in my own country in between.

RL: bored at work as well. Not only today, but overall I'm afraid. I really need to look for another job. Too bad my current job is so close at home, gets me a lot of days off from work, and I can take them almost always when I want them too. Not only entire days, but I pretty much can stop working whenever I want, as long as I reach the total amount of hours I'm expected to work on a weekly base. It won't be easy to find a new job under the same conditions.

The kids are away on camp for 10 days. My wife and I took the opportunity to go to Leuven for the weekend, where we both studied at university. It was lovely to be back there. I'm a bit worried about the kids though. Well, not really worried. But they are staying in tents, and for the next few days weather forecasts predict the hottest temperatures ever measured in Belgium, up to 40°C. I hope they'll drink enough, stay out of the sun and use sun cream.

D2: my untwinked 99er Sorc hit 93. I was hoping to find the runes for Infinity while doing Pit runs, but obviously that didn't happen. So it's back to LK for her now. I did get lucky and rolled an awesome map in less than 10 minutes.

I also plan to prepare my PitBarb for the upcoming MFO. I won't have more than a few hours time to actually participate, but I plan on holding my own little MFO by doing 10 - 15 hours or Pit runs in total, so also after the MFO has officially ended, and maybe already a bit this and / or next week.

Got my HoJ / Phoenix - BotD FC/Maul Werebear to Act 2 Hell. He's a lot of fun, although slow blocking in Werebear form does remain an issue. That, and the fact that just staying on the BotD switch would be vastly superior over changing to the HoJ / Phoenix switch for non-FIs. But I didn't make such an expensive runeword for nothing, so I keep switching :). His killing power is insane btw. Strongest melee character I have built I think. That might say something about my past melee characters too though ;).

OVG: no. Lots of board games though. I just love board games.

I've been in that situation. Too bored to stay but too comfortable to leave. I am prone to a good bit of career ennui in general though, and have moved for my wife's job a few times. So I never want to switch jobs when I'm not sure if I'll be moving a year later anyways. Hope you get it figured out and find a stimulating job with about as much flexibility!

Also very similar to you with pit barb. I am hoping to get in 20 hours during MFO, but if I dont, I will finish the 20 hours with him after it ends.

Good progress on other stuff! The werebear sounds like load of fun. And agreed, board games are great!

RL: D&D yesterday was funsies. I have a week off work for my birthday at the height of peak summer sales, which is much needed. Hoping to write some DM notes and do some jobs around the house while I have the time off.

D2: Could really do with progressing some characters but I haven't been playing as much as I'd like, work has been kicking my ass.

OVG: I started a Zombieland save on Rimworld, and my D&D: Dungeon of the Mad Mage board game arrived today so I need to look at that.

RL: we are leaving to Austria for a 2 week holiday tomorrow. So much looking forward to it.

D2: some pre-MFO runs with my Pitbarb. Best drop was a Griffon's, which was a grailer for me.

OVG: I started playing Grim Dawn again yesterday. I was thinking about a return to that game anyway, and coincidentally a RL friend of mine sent me a message asking me if I still had that game, because he bought it with the Steam Summer sale and was hooked. That made me make the jump to, and I don't regret it. I was immediately hooked again. Will buy the second expansion after our holiday.

I'm afraid that GD will keep me away from D2 for a while, at least mostly. Still plan to do the MFO for a bit though.

I have been on the lookout for this thread the last couple days..

EPL: Arsenal Football Club have signed Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72M ..

Considering the downward trend of AFC over the last decade, and a reported budget of only £40-45M, I have no idea how we managed to pull this off.. It just makes me giddy to think of how many goals we will score this season. We may concede 50+ goals again. But, if we can win games 5-3, we are in good shape!

Have a blast! I only really had time to drive through when I was on my way round Europe but it was so pretty. Grim Dawn is great fun! I need to play Forgotten Gods expansion myself.

RL: Currently in the middle of a two week holiday. Making more notes for D&D to try and run my first campaign. I haven't studied or made cliff notes for anything of this scale since my degree nearly ten yers ago. I feel so useless.

D2: Haven't had much incentive to push the Zealot foward. Progress is slow.

OVG: Alternating between Rimworld and Rocket League.

RL: Back at work for a week or so. It's everything I remember it being and more :( The big music festival was called off due to English weather so that's made traffic a lot easier. Wrestling show today, so off on a road trip to the next county. :p

D2: Revisited the Windy Druid/Bowazon MP combo with TheReadMenace. The end of Hell A3 gave us trouble, but we found a plain Monarch which we cubed and made into a 34FCR Spirit shield. This helped Hell A4 immensely, making it easy by comparison. Valk and Bear are good meatshields when the mercs go down. Hellforge gave us a Fal. Made it to the Crystalline Passage WP in A5.

OVG: Summer event has ended in Rocket League so there's no new shinies to collect.

RL: This one is difficult. Work is mega stressful at the moment, but I have data coming. However, I’m off for two weeks from Monday because I’m pushing my luck in terms of how much I’m working, so I really need to wind down. Also, outside of work I’m getting really worked up about my transition. I have no doubts that it’s the right option, my only one at this point, but I’m also terrified and pretty much am winging this. If it doesn’t work then I have no options left, and that is best not thinking about. On the plus side, although I can’t transition for some time, I am a lot more relaxed about my presentation at work now which takes some of the tension away, but brings it’s own problems...

D2: Most is my two weeks off will be spent on a concentrate barbarian for the untwinked 99er tournament. My new monitor arrives on Saturday - it will be so good to get back to D2.

OVG: Reading...?

RL: waiting to hear something from the position I interviewed for on phone (in LA) two weeks ago. They’ve already called my references. Next vacation starts 28th. Expect gifts from the west again (pogoers)

D2: not really.

OVG: too many events. Harry Potter has hogwarts, Pokémon go is triple stardust (also possible unowns in DC this weekend strongly considering a trip to get some more), then they just announced a water event for next week. Not really time to game on a computer or console.....

Blast from the past, folks! Came to dii(dot)net to check up on Diablo news and saw that one of the trending threads was the 2019 MFO, and it made me want to come say hi. I remember having a lot of fun grinding away & acting as the point of contact for categories in the MFO. Awesome to see so many people from the old days still hanging out here and participating! Wish I'd popped in a day earlier -- I might have signed up as a casual participant...

RL: Ups and downs since I last visited a few years ago, too much to get into here and none of it particularly interesting. Currently in hyper desperation mode looking for a new job.

D2: A couple months ago, started dabbling in it yet again; full restart, no old stashes to fall back upon. Apparently @Fast Eddie has been making updates on my behalf regarding our off & on MP sessions (you sly dog; you never said anything about returning to the SPF!). We played again yesterday evening with our Windy/Bowazon combo for maybe an hour, moving from Hell A5 Crystalline Passage to Ancients Way. My pathetic damage is holding us back from making fast progress, but at least I've got a Valk to protect the party & can help chip away at physical immunes. Hopefully we'll Mat & Pat soon and I'll be able to roll up a new character, preferably something less gear dependent so we can rofl stomp our next play through.

OVG: Regular Rocket League Snow Day sessions with Fast Eddie, forever waffling between Diamond 3 / Champion 1. Always have a blast in our sessions regardless of our rank. Been watching a lot of randomizers for Dragon Warrior & Final Fantasy; inspired me to start up a vanilla run of Dragon Warrior, which I finished in less than 24 hours. Brought back a lot of childhood memories.
