OT: Favorite fast foods

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

as vegetarian, I don't eat very often at fast food places. But favorite one is at a local grill, double veggieburger with chilimayonnaise and fries. If I make something at home, it's usually just pasta or fries. Big plate of pasta and ketchup, who's with me?

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

I love the kebab at Falafel Kitchen here in Malmö. A rolled up thin pita bread, containing a bundle with lots of meat, tomato, parcel, strong peppers, pickled cucumber and topped with an amazing garlic sauce. Well, sauce and sauce, it´s looks more like some sort of grease one would use on heavy machinery...it´s probably one of the fattiest food substances know to man...

I second the kebab in Malmö. Great price and great food.

I also like Krua Thai Express. I usually go with red curry with chicken and some spring rolls. Their food is amazing, hot and spicy with alot of vegetables and delicious chicken.

I might actually go and buy one right now!

edit: I also wan't to say that those Wendy burgers look absolutely insane! Thats like three burgers in one, talk about meat sweats!

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

I don't know much about Malmö, but I'm a big fan of kebab as well. Since most of our "friettenten" are run by immigrants, you can get kebab and other exotic goodies at just about every corner. Except for falafel, which is always on the menu but never available. Poor vegetarians :wink3:

EDIT: When at home, by the way, my favorite snack is a cup of YumYum instant noodles.

I love pizza, a lot. I'd eat one every day if I could.

Well, every 2nd day if i were still living in Germany. Doner would fill the days inbetween. That's the one "daily-life" thing I dearly miss. The thing they call kebab here is no comparison and I wouldn't even dream of eating it a 2nd time.

Otherwise, frozen pasta dishes are kind of nice too. Fast and better than nothing. :wink3:

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

Less than 5 minutes on foot from where I live, there's a burger joint called "BurgerMan". They have some of the best burgers available, however, they don't have a website, so I don't have pics.

I'm also a big fan of frozen pizza. Just stick it in the oven and wait :D

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

When I'm not buying the aforementioned ambrosia at Wendy's, this is my choice, supplemented with two orders of chicken nuggets. I'm too lazy to calculate the total calories, if that's any indication of it's awesomeness.
!

A former Californian not listing In'n'Out as a favorite?!? How dare you, sir!

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

Thundercloud Subs is a great local franchise in Austin, I love the California Club (turkey, bacon, guacamole) and the Office Favorite (egg salad w/ bacon). Always on wheat bread  But I still go to Subway sometimes too.

Milto's Pizza makes great gyros, I love their tzatziki sauce 'cause they don't add the cucumber (and the pizza's awesome too)!

And for dessert, Amy's Ice Cream is the best I've ever had (White Lighning or Sweet Cream w/ Junior mints).

I know the above are very local, but there are some other Austinites on the forum who can relate.

I try to stay away as much as possible, but I do crave Big Mac's at MickeyD's every once in a while, and there's a Wendy's just down the street so I go there when I'm really lazy...the chili's pretty good.

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

Cook Out is a great place, it's a small chain from around here, and they do the best milkshakes. My brother came home from Iraq, and the first thing he did is go to Cook Out and order as many milkshakes as he could drink

Otherwise, I don't mind a double cheeseburger from the Golden Arches every now and then.

Oh, and I almost forgot my favorite of all of them! There's a joint in town that's been around forever, called PB's Hotdogs. And they are good. It's a hotdog, with cheese and mustard (or whatever else you want), on a buttered, grilled bun. So good it's wrong. And they make homemade lemonade, as well. And they sell those fruit pies that are so good.

Hmm. There's a Cook Out near where I work... perhaps I needs investigate this delicious milkshake of which you speak.

Re: OT: Favorite fast foods

Fast Food? I used to go to that Donald guy about twice a week, but nowadays I run an average of about twice a year. I sort of gave up on fast food, and haven't really regretted it. I stopped before thingiemajig/whatshisname in the States made his documentary. Watching it later on only made me more resolute in breaking with that habit. Once again, I stay ahead of the curve :P

*casts Revive*

This has eluded me so far. I loved the Baconator (and still do...but I don't love it that way) yet the Spicy Baconator and I have yet to meet. But we shall. We shall.

Who of you is fat?

Hamburgers/Pizza for me.

Not me! Despite my constant urges for fast food and all-you-can-eat Chinese, I'm 5 foot 11 and weigh 170 lbs (180 cm with weight of 77 Kg for you non-Americans) and have been the same for 12+ years. I thought I might finally start putting on weight after age 26 or so, but...alas. 29 and no change.

Anyone up for Burger King? I have a craving...

I'm a relatively new transplant to Austin, and I sadly have to say that I prefer a BMT at Subway to anything at Thundercloud. A 6-inch at Subway feels as filling as the largest sub at T-cloud. Good food, but not enough to satisfy.

Speaking of Austin, I gotta say I love Whataburger. Best... burgers... ever~! Add some cheese, bacon, and jalapenos and you've got heaven on a bun! And I work nights, so the fact I can get greasy burgers at 6am is key.

Freebirds and Torchy's rock for burritos. Frozen Tony's pizza at least once a week. Spicy Popeye's chicken is the shiz. Wendy's and Chic-fil-a tie for the best chicken sandwiches. And there's an awesome Chinese place across the street from me that has a great lunch deal for less than six bucks. Still looking for a good Thai place for some drunken noodles.

Hmm... I eat a lot of crap! I'm 6 feet tall, and I waver between 160-170 lbs. I'm glad I rarely drink or else I'd be a fatty fat fattington.
