OT: Days of our Lives aka the Beacon's Billboard

Corax,

Glad to hear your gf is doing better. I'm not a world expert, but I've learned after 10 years of marriage its usually best to not try and fix their problems, just listen, tell them you understand how they feel, and be generally sympathetic...even if you have no idea how they feel and you're not at all sympathetic and you see a perfectly simple solution that she fails to recognize.

As for the job, these things always have a way of working themselves out. Just keep your eyes open and you'll end up in the right place at the right time.

hey piscene,
welcome to the DooL thread :xman:
10 yrs of marriage aye. any little piscenes?

I have two girls, 4 and 6 yrs old. So, if I didn't learn about women already, I'm going to have to now. I only had brothers, so being surrounded by women is a new one for me...good thing my dog is a boy...we understand each other.

 my family is entirely male, barring mum and one of our dogs, the rest, being me,dad my brother, another dog, 2 cats and 4 birds are all males. and of course the fish are a mix cos they keep breeding. i started out with 5 male and 5 female. now 6-7 yrs later i havent bought any new ones. heh inbred fishies

So, when fish inbreed, do they become bucktoothed crosseyed wierdos? :xmad:

I had to have a boy dog for myself, but I did end up getting a female for my wife, as she had spent year after year begging for a purebred chocolate lab...to which I would respond "I'm not paying $500 for some dumb, inbred pain in the a**, when I have a perfectly good mutt that I got for free' Then we ended up getting a free purebred chocolate lab, who actually has turned out to be a good dog, although that has not changed my position on paying for pets. So theres one more girl in the house.

Piscene: Welcome to the Beacons thread :howdy: Nice to see some new participants, now that Ronin has left us... where is he? :hanky:

I just had the most wonderful saturday evening and sunday morning imaginable. My precious girlfriend decided to come visit me last evening, she came at around 8 pm. First we fooled a bit around, then had a wonderful dinner, watched Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets. Then went to bed (I slept grrreat). She drove me to work this morning before she returned to her hometown also to go to work. She has to work from 11 am to 8:30 pm on a sunday :xeek: Damn that's hard!!

Anyways, just wanted to tell you all that I love her very very much :)
Guess you already knew that.... oh well

Having a nice day are we?

glad to hear you had fun rizzo
cindy came over for tea tonight, and then we watched TV. fun. i was supposed to go to her place but my back is still pretty bad, so i decided against doing anything overly stupid.
Good news on the job front. the cafe where we got tea from is after junior staff and one of the main things they're looking for is flexibility :xsmile4: going down tomorow to give them a resume and what not. wish me luck.

mmm ronin's on holidays, so who knows what hes doing.

Oh, so he's vacating eh? Grrr.. wish it was me :)
Luckily my vacation is coming up soon, tho it's not an array of days, only a couple of days off here and there. New years eve is one of them, as is the 24, 25 and 26th of december.

Tonight I'm making candy for my girlfriend. I've bought marcipan, chocolate, nuts (no funny jokes sam! :p), nougat and some decorative stuff. I hope I can find out what the heck to do, never exactly made much of this in my life, but homemade is teh gosu right? She's gonna love it!

Corax: I'm glad your gf has calmed down. It probably still bothers her alot, but she will eventually find a way out of it. How are things going between you btw? I remember all the fuss some pages ago, where she "forgot" you on your anniverssary. Is it going okay again?

gah homemade chocolate. just buy some of those yumo belgian ones and claim you made them. if you cant tell ive never had success with homemade chocolate. :xx:

cindy and I are going good now, we had a pretty big argument and she wouldnt speak to me for awhile there but we're over that now and i no longer let her walk all over me and i must say we are both alot happier.

That's good news.
I also have to be careful not to get a domina as girlfriend hehe, but I'm working with it, and it's going better now.

She wouldn't speak to you? Why? What did you do?

Homemade chocolates tells that you've spent time on something special for you loved one. Even if they are not as delicious as the ones you buy. I know she'll love it.

Nacaa, You missed an awesome song, I think by the Chemical Brothers, but I don't know for sure. Also, one of my favorite lines in all movies..."Marla, you met me at a really messed up time in my life" as the buildings come crashing down all around them...God, I love that movie, can you tell, since I can quote it? No spoilers there, since the movie is pretty much over, but it does have a great line and a great song.

Hi lads (and Sidhe)!

I've been busy with my lady. (woot!) We've been mainly hanging around ours houses, watching movies, and spending time withour families. I've even been so lucky as to spend some time playing assorted games with her. She's taken a grand liking to Age of Mythology, and Warcraft III to a lesser extent.

We also had quite an adventure tracking down a Christmas tree, but in the end we found a perfectly full tree, and that's about nine feet tall. It's not the largest we've ever had, but it will suffice. We were about to go visit some friends of mine tonight, but the weather is sub-par, so we're playing it safe and staying in.

I think that's about it for tonight.

If I don't make it on before the holidays, I hope you all have a safe and happy holidays! :xman:

SPAMMORZZZXZZ!

Go away for a weekend and read through 2 pages of dribble! j/k

How was everyone's weekend?????

My trip to Brissy was eventful, the work X-mas party was like a funeral, crap food and crap company. dissappionting to say the least.

Went to my mates going away and met the ex GF - she sidled up to me with a balloon under her shirt and said "Clarke, haven't seen you for 9 months and you won't return my calls!" My response, "Nat, Rebecca. Rebecca, Nat". Got a hell of a laugh from everyone at the party except Bec funnily enough! We left soon after............

Stuck to my guns on the not telling Bec about Frenchie and avoided my mate like the plague. Didn't see her, so it wasn't an issue (Frenchie did send me a rude txt message telling me what an ***hole I was though). Never mind.

Am flat out at work, but looking forward to D2 tonight.

Take it easy.....

Hi all! :xman:

Very happy to see that everyone is getting on well with their better halfs - must be that the season of goodwill is upon us already. :xsmile4:

As for me, I finally got Anne to install v1.10 and we started a new pair of characters - a pally for her and a fishy for me. Got through the whole of Act I and it was great. Before yesterday we hadn't played more than an hour of D2 together since the chemo started, so I too am a very happy chappy.

Only 5 shopping days to go - so make sure you've got all those pressies in!!! :xflash:

i wish my gf would play games with me...shes boooring when it comes to games. specially if im in the middle of one when she comes over. cos she makes fun of me for being a nerd so i have to shut it down and bash her up:evil: j/k of course.
speaking of violence yesterday when she was over i was working on a little dolls pram that im restoring for mum and cindy wanted to help sand the rust off. then she decided it'd be funny to sand my arm. she drew blood, we were using rough sandpaper. gah!
