OT: Days of our Lives aka the Beacon's Billboard

@DougTheHead2: There is no need to go. The rune, if hacked, wasn't hacked by you and I don't see why you have to go.

Doug: please don't go. You cannot take the blame for something we all know you didn't do. Stay here... we all know you're innocent, and this thread won't be the same without you

And i'd hope it isn't gonna be a big issue between you and your friend. Even if he did hack, item pack, whatnot, hey, its just a game. ;)

Oh, and when even the hardliners seem reluctant to point at you and say f off f00 haakk3r, it probably says something. ;)

C'mon Doug, stay with us! I think most of us believe that you are innocent, and that any tomfoolery is not of your doing.

gotta agree witht he rest here Doug. you have shown yourself to be a legit, honest guy. I can't imagine anyone here accusing you of duping or cheating. In your original story, you said your friend tried to pick up the rune before you but couldn't. so what you saw was him dropping a rune. I understand how close a friend he is, but to use your own Sherlock Holmes logic, that he dropped it isn't impossible and is in fact less improbable than the game giving it the wrong label. Sorry man.

But please do stick around. Like we've all said, no one blames you are thinks you a hacker. Your conduct through all of this has been exemplary (sp?) (it's too damn early and I don't feel like looking it up)

I'm posting my latest PM to Doug (slightly edited). I don't think he'll mind.

Doug,

A good night's sleep can really make a difference. It clarifies, and puts things into perspective.

I'm truly sorry about the situation in which you found yourself. I read the sheer joy in your posts, and then saw it turn to shock, disbelief and then resignation. I don't like to do that to folks, but it's my job. *sigh*

Ok, so your friend made a bad error in judgement, at least from your perspective, and that of the SPF. That doesn't mean all is in the trash. He is still your friend - he just doesn't share your game morality. Spend some time with him soon and remember why you are best friends.

Your runes are illegit - that sux, but you can move on. Actually the Zod is your least problem. Your real issue may be the Vex and your HoTO. Many here would feel that all items found by your druid after that are tainted and should be deleted. But that's your call.

Your reputation at the SPF is tarnished. But based on the support you are receiving in the Beacon's Billboard, that will be back to shiny in no time.

You're a good guy in my eyes. Stick around, take the high road. You've got friends here.

anyone else noticed AE used the word "sux" in his pm?

i think he just moved up a spot on my list :teeth:

he did too. way to AE.
good afternoon all. its been a stinker of a day here. ah well. back to it i suppose. it being lazing around and reading up on a few faqs and stuff

Hey all,

Sitting in the office on a Sunday trying to catch up on some work, damn this SPF ~ just too good a read.

@Mil: I must say that I think Barramundi is the most overrated fish in Australia - people rave about it, I just don't get it. What do you do for a living? 100k in a month is impressive in any business though.

@Corax ~ Formal stories - We had a teacher at high school who was fond of the attention of the boys (all boys school), there was a rather interesting comment made by a friend of mine when the teacher in question told us she was going to the toilet. He asked her if she needed a hand. She replied in the affirmative, and the rest is censored :uhhuh:

@Kaysaar - Ah, good old biblical history! I take it that you're taking a theological subject as an elective? At least you've got some sort of break and you'll be able to see your girl!

@Rizzo - 24 presents?!? Mate, it's guys like you that give the rest of us a bad name! (J/k) I'm struggling to think of what to get my gf? No idea really, how about a tip or two.........

@Ronin - Hope thankgiving was good.

@Strijdje - I've been back through some of the old threads in the forum and was reading your wind druid @99 thread. A very belated congrats, that was an awesome achievement.

hey grogs :howdy:
i agree with you. people like rizzo make it hard for the rest of us. just harass your significant other until she gves up and tells you what she wants. it worked for me this year. now ive got to sew her another damn bear*grumble* so maybe its not such a good idea. so just pretend you forgot and then ride out the storm that follows

You go away for a couple of days and you miss so much!

@Doug - I agree with everyone else that there is no need for you to go, the way you have conducted yourself during this, does not reek of a guilty man.

Stick around and stop by the Beacon's more often......

It's lucky that Rizzo lives on the other side of the world, or none of us would have any luck with the ladies!

I've tried the forgetting thing before and it's just not worth it, cyclone insurance in Nth Qld doesn't cover it

damn. at least next yr ill be a LOOOOOOONG way away. so if i forget i can send whatever late and say it must of get held up in the mail. ahhhhh deviousness.

anyways women generally tell you they dont want anything then drop hints. so just actually pay attention when she talks. the hints will start appearing. if nothing by say. the 23rd. torch the house:teeth:

nice hat AE

Grogs - I'm actually taking a first year classics course :teeth: It's a real easy course seeing as I've studied most of this stuff before. It was a pretty easy essay to write.

Grogs and Corax - I'm just glad my girl would be embarassed if I gave her that many gifts. She's just not a material person. And be glad your ladies aren't reading that bit by Rizzo ;)

Sadly, Milamber, I am just as hardcore self found as before. I will find my own, or another Gul (that I KNOW is legit as I broke the chest a screen away from him and has a 1.10 tag on it).

Very thanks for the offer.

Just noticed my Fool thread was locked; its just as well. I just want to say to all who posted thanks for your trust. One thing, though, is to not hold it against anyone who chooses not to trust me. It is ok, there are actually quite a few people in the OTF that do not like me for the views I expressed during the political rhetoric flinging pre-election! This will fade into memory, and the quicker the better for me, really. I just wish my friend wouldn't keep hiding and just TELL me this is what he did; his air of complete innocence is either true or so sinister I did not believe possible!

OK, on another note, man I just spent all day drowning out this stuff in some cigars and Stars Wars Battlefront! I have never played online a FPS, the closest would be Perfect Dark a LOOONG time ago. Even though all we did was kill the computer, it was still one of the best gaming experiences I have had in quite a while!

I can relate to that, I'm very strictly self found also Doug..... A left over from Bnet days I'm afraid, it's just easier that way I think.

@All: Why is it, that at the time of year when most of us in the southern hemisphere are thinking of summer and the christmas holidays, I'm busier at work than I have been all year?????

I've gotten to the stage where I'm now turning down work! (or at least trying to talk clients into postponing it).

For once in my life I'd like a job that is strictly 9-5. Well I guess there is no rest for the wicked.

@Ronin - you'll agree with me :uhhuh:

it would appear trading is going the way of the dodo. im going entirely self-found now. not so much because i dont trust people but more of a im too lazy to email things to ppl and pm them and such. although i might still trade with people i really trust if they are after something i have. *shrugs*

@ronin:i shall resume the giveaway very soon. the total of the stash was 3k overall.

Hi all! Having a nice day are we?
I'm just in at work, the time is 9:54 am, it's 3 degrees celsius outside and I just rode the train to town (I was staying at my gf over night). It's almost Christmas (wohoo!!) and then the warm cosy month will take us all in, feed us fat and round for the new year so we can all promise to loose some pounds in the next year :D
After work today I'm wrapping up 24 small packages for my girlfriend in Christmas paper. Oh boy oh boy. And tomorrow (the day before the 1st of december wohoo!) I'm going to Kolding again to visit my dear girl, so we can spend the wednesday together and make Christmas decorations.

Corax, Grogs and Kaysaar: hehe, you gotta treat your girl well you know. She looooves presents, and I like giving them to her. It's not that she's overly material. She just likes the idea that I've thought about her while shopping around for these small things. Of course she (hopefully) likes the gifts too, but the most important thing about this time of year is the warm feelings you share with everyone around you. Especially the ones you hold dear.

Have a nice day all!
