OT: Days of our Lives aka the Beacon's Billboard

Heya.

This weekend being Halloween, i thought i would direct your attention to this:

A classic thread from one of our beloved members.

I was going to just give it a nice bump, but i heard through the grapevine that OT threads are generally frowned upon here now? Or is that just an unsubstantiated rumor? In any case, happy Halloween y'all :)

hey y'all. being halloween, according to FF, i thought this would also amuse you
http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=267660

nice of you to join our thread ff :howdy:
OT on the whole isnt looked down upon if it has a reason. like that ninja stuff. but senseless OT and more then 2-3 threads on page one are

Hi nacaa wzup mate? How are things going in the army? And how are things going with your ex? I hope it's turned out good for you...

I've just gotten out of bed, was partying last night with my coworkers. Was incredible fun!

Gotta eat something :D See y'all later :howdy:

It's all going awesome. The army really helped me coming over her. I just think about her sometimes... Not often at all. I'd say give me one more week and I am totally over her. :D I never thought it would be this easy but I kinda focus on all the bad things about our relationship and I am really enjoying the army now. So it's all perfect. I just wonder how she feels now after a week.

Ah yea the army. It's so perfect. I can't wait until tonight when I am going there again. Too bad we got a field week now but I am home already at thursday.

:D

Unsubstantiated rumor :)

No problem with OT threads, even 5-7 on the front page is fine in my book. I did crack down pretty hard on spammage. I guess sometimes OT and spam go together though ;)

Back to your normal programming...

Hey all.

Well Monday is here and the start of another week. I am a feeling a little off colour and trying to escape work - reading the SPF always helps.

@Nacca: Fireman sounds interesting. I don't harbour any desire to enter the army... I've been to Uni and have my career established in the corporate world, my path is pretty set.

@Rizzo: I think it's great that you have the sort of relationship where you buy each other presents and do spontaneous romantic stuff. How long have you been going out with your Gf?

@Method: Glad to hear the date was a success, no thanks to the sage advice received from here I bet.....

Grogs.

thanks method. now rizzo is going to have an even bigger head.
thats a long time to be going out with someone rizzo. congrats
and now for the part where i need help, my own gf and i have been going out for 2 years as of the 22 of november and i was wondering what i could do that would be special and memorable for both of us. yes im actually thinking about being romantic, me of all people  any ideas? im lost already

hey AE stop in and say hi more often  ..we've got :drink:

Where do you live Corax? I mean, which country?

Australia. same as grogs. although about 2000 kms away. until next year. then we could be neighbours  scary thought...j/k grogs.

Oh well okay.. Hmm. I knew that, I just forgot :innocent:
Anyways, why not make a trip somewhere? I dunno Australia, but I know that there're lotsa pretty places and things to see. I would take her for a ride somewhere pretty and maybe dine at a restaurant or similar. You could also make a picnic, girls love that. Especially if you take em somewhere fancy :D

You could also go to a theme park if there is a such down there? Or maybe a trip to the big city? Go see Sydney or something. Go to the opera (it was actually designed by a dane, did u know that?)

the only real drawback to any of these things is that neither of us can go driving without our parents.. im not old enough for my license yet(still on learners) and she is afraid of driving. so yeah. options are fairly limited.
i was thinking of taking her sailing. we could take a picnic and sail to the otherside of the (nearby) dam. hows that sound?

Romantic. Sounds great. Take some blanket with you and make a picnic on the other side. Buy a bottle of champagne

And one more thing if you really want to impress her: Make a poem for her, and read it to her when you're both lying there on the ground, looking out on the blue water and talking. Yeah, poems are great. And there's lots of help to get online just so you know.

i like it  im just going to have to brush up on my sailing skills so i dont send both of us(and the precious) food into the water. oh and rizzo. if im too young to drive im too young to buy champagne

How old are you, Corax? Driving is ace. Get your test passed :) took me 1 month with no official lessons :p

16. i think i said that somewhere on the last page too
but in oz you cant get your provisional license (speed limited to 90km/h) until your 17 and have had your learners for 6 months and have at least 50 hours of driving experience. ive got the 50 hours, easily, and the 6 months. ive just got to wait till march next year for my 17th bday. damn.

Too young to buy champange? What?? In DK you only have to be 15 to buy alc, and you can't get drivers license before the age of 18. Well can't your parents buy some then? Or do you have an older brother or the like? It must be doable. Champagne is essential!!!

its the other way here rizzo. alcohol is buyable at 18. my parents or brother could buy it, but i think ill give the champagne a miss. my girlfriend is very anti-alcoholic. she get very angry when me and a friend decided it'd be funny to streak(we were at a boring party) and we skulled a few beers to help our confidence. we only had 4 each(ran out of beer) so we kept our boxers on.

so the champagne is a miss. oh and two days after our anniversary is our high school formal. wow. what fun

Perhaps her anger was directed at something other than the fact that you drank...? :) I think she could be angry that you stripped instead. Btw one thing is to be anti-alcoholic, another thing is to be able to drink a glass of wine or perhaps some champagne at newyears eve. Doesn't she even do that?

You don't need it of course. Cider works well too (whoops there's alc in that too :p) I wonder where Ronin is? We could use his comments here as well.

Method: How come you're in here so seldom atm? I rarely see you anymore... it's sad :hanky:
