OT: Days of our Lives aka the Beacon's Billboard

Sup all,

D2 wise I took my first venture into MP land last night thanks to Condor and Tundra. It's a little different - I went through Hell A2 faster than I ever have in my life. But it was fun!

@roninD - I'll try to set aside some time this weekend to mp. I'll definately be on tonight...this weekend will be a little tougher to say since I have relatives coming in from Missouri. (I live in NC). So needless to say I don't get to see them too often. As far as equipment for my sin - Send me what you think I might like - mostly I've just been concentrating on my plus skills items.
I already have a rockstopper though, I use a Ptopaz Harly Crest currently.

@Rizzo - as far as the memory thing goes, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think you'll find as time goes by those memories will be triggered by events in your future. Sometimes something as simple as a certain smell will trigger things in my past and make them seem like yesterday...

@everyone else - Glad to see everyone's doing well.

The blisters hurt like hell. Thats one good reason. Also people shout at you a lot. Apparently you have to be "very strong or very stupid". And as i can only do 15 press ups without resting...im assuming the latter.

Press ups? bleh, using different muscle combinations while doing that than you do with rowing, push vs pull.. Actually, if you aint worked that out.. it may just be the latter ;)

/sarcasm

how D boys....

@ Rizzo - So much going on at the present will make it hard to recall the past. Im with oapwm on this one....the other day during summer I got out of the shower and walked in front of a fan by the window. I could smell the grass...reminded me alot of my youth...totally didnt remember it until that moment. Besides, live for the future...forget about the past. ;)

@oapwm - fraid I cant mp tonite. my wife talked me into going to class today (she felt bad for making me quit)....which is awesome that I can still afford to do it. I agreed to but on the condition that I only go 1 time a week and no more. so looks like i dont have to quit my favorite thing to do completely...just seriously tone it down. pm me if you can play this weekend and i will check the SPF and find out. if you dont play most likely i wont either.

@silo - rowing tears up man! you pretty tall? blisters suXzor....i get em on my feet from the muay thai all the time.

@all the rest - awesome contributions guys, this is gonna be one good giveaway. i might hand it over to corax if it gets out of hand. the original plan was to only send out 5 mules a week so it doesnt get overwhelming. so corax if you want to take it over to fully send out mules until itams are gone you can. lemme know and ill send you the combined stashes.

morning guys!

@rizzo: yea most people forget things all the time. i do it. but to be safe i strongly recomend going to see a doctor to check for vitamin B deficiency. no joke. do it. a friend of mine from karate recently had his lung punctured and while he was getting better they detected a vit B deficiency and he can remember big things, but often forgets tiny little details. its got worse affects on health than that. so go get yourself checked out. hate to see you forget the SPF URL

@nacaa: i can see you. come post and tell us how your doing

@ronin: yes i would still be happy to handle the giveaway. i just sent you my ~300 ish items.

@silo: get some gloves you noob. when i used to row consistently. kayak'ing, surfski's and canoeing..big canoe too.. i used to wear just bike riding gloves to stop getting blisters. i need to start that up again too. nothing better than a nice paddle on a good day. not like today...bloody rain

@oapwm: glad to hear your enjoying MP. its a blast when you get into it.

anyway 1 exam left. at 2pm this arvo i go in. 5 pm i come out. then done forever :winner:

Thanks alot guys!
I don't entirely agree on the forget about the past thingie Ronin, but I'm unsure if you were merely joking... To know yourself is to know your past. And knowing yourself gives you a better control of yourself and a better understanding of how and why you react. It is very important to know who you are I think.

@ Rizzo - Fair enough, but more of you exists in the present than it does in the past. In fact, technicly time doesnt exist:

The future hasnt arrived yet, so it cant exist
The past has already gone and all that remains are eletrical impulses in your brain - so thats pretty circumstantial
The present has already gone into the past, by the time you think about it.

@ Ronin - Rowing really does rock. I've never felt so good in all my life. Hows the giveaway going? I want to see the items you've managed to get :yep:

@ Corax - I find gloves make them worse, cos they rub. I just pour surgical spirit on them every night. It hurts, but the skin hardens up. After the 10 mins of burning, it starts to feel better. Didnt realise you used to be in to all that, good times man, good times.

Edit:

EVERYONE SHOULD DOWNLOAD MOZILLA NOW!

No really. I love it. Just got it and it rocks the hell out of IE.

@ Rizzo - course I was joking, you cant be completely serious when you say forget about the past. Everyone is made up of thier past...but there is some measure of going over board if you consistently focus on it too much. Its not healthy to dwell on things that are already behind you.

@ silo - I might gather the stashes together, generate the farrah reports, then hand it over to corax. Probably 2500 - 3000 items now. BTW i like having blisters, makes your skin strong. Oh yeah, some pretty 1337 items I gave to oblivious already in his mule.

@ corax - gonna get it together soon and Ill zip em up and send em too you later this week. You can post your own thread if you handle it...just be sure to include all contributors and also make sure that the items are not to be traded or used for grails. (Per contributors requests) Thats pretty much it. The rest is up to you.

Yeah, i love blisters. They make you feel so hard, too. When people start complaining about aches and pains, all i have to do is lift my hand and show the 8 blood filled ones i have and other normal ones, and that shuts them up.

Edit: Check your Pm's Ronin.

Hey all,

Thank God it's Friday! I had a fantastic meeting with a new client yesterday, and we will pick up their business - It'll be the biggest job I pick up this financial year - so I'm pretty stoked.

I've got a conference down in Brisbane on Monday and Tuesday - so no D2 or SPF for a couple of days next week. :hanky:

@Ronin - Glad to hear that you can still get into the martial arts. Does your wife train also?

@Corax - How are the exams going?

@Rizzo - I think that the memory loss thing is fairly common. I fail to remember things that I did a few years ago, and if you ask me about school I could only tell you what school I went to!

My theory is that as you move onto different phases of your life, you become wrapped up in them and events in your past become less important as you're concentrating on the now. The memories fade, but as Ronin mentioned they are never forgotten and often it just takes something to jog you memory. I often find that when I'm talking to old friends I haven't seen in a while, we all remember different aspects of an event - comes down to perspective. If your really concerned about it, start a journal/ diary.

I guess that as we all get older our lives and therefore minds, become more cluttered. Just wait till you hit 45 and see what you can remember of your teens!

@Silospen - I do know what you're saying about blisters, they make you feel like you've done something worthwhile. Unfortunately working in an office you don't really get the chance to get any (unless they are on your arse!) - I don't really do too much exercise anymore - I was diagnosed with Arthritis about 6 months ago, (Was bloody painful until I was put on medication).

Grogs

Woah, harsh, Grogs. Arthritis is really such an annoyance. My sister's boyfriend has arthritis (he's 25) and has to have 2 capfulls of cider vinegar every morning and night. Apparently that helps, along with all the drugs they pump into you.

Heya all :)

Wow, there is always alot to read when I get home. Hope everyone is doing alright. I will read through everything later. Just wanted to come by and say hello.

I got home from our fieldweek yesterday and boy was I tired. I fell asleep almost immediately. Of course, we didn't sleep much at all. Probably around 3 hours each night. 1 hour sleep, 1 hour guard etc... Pretty boring heh. Anyway, I think I have made a final decision and that is to join the forces that work in other countries after my education. I am hoping for Irak to help the people there getting back in business.

Thats all for me for now :) Have a nice day

Hey Nacaa, long time no see :howdy:

I don't know what Arthritis is, but I have an idea since you mentioned your behind. If it is what I think I've heard is should be very painful, and I feel for you :)

Nacaa: wow Iraq eh? I would be careful if I was you :scared: If I were a soldier I wouldn't go to Iraq, but much rather to afghanistan or countries in that area. Not Iraq tho with all the troubles and kidnapping going on atm...

Yupp I know. But my education ends 27th of May so alot of things will probably happen :) So I have to wait and see. I'm gonna do it since it will be a hell of an experience and pretty good when applying for works. Especially since I am leaning more and more to become a police. But Fireman is still the highest priority.

Hey all, went to class yesterday and it was sweet, will be the only time I go for the week. This weekend I have plans to put sod in my backyard....yeah! Wish me luck.

@ Rizzo - arthritis has nothing to do with your behind my friend. He was referring to his behind as a joke only, with respect to his sitting in the office all day. Arthritis is a condition which involves joint pains, there are several kinds associated with stress on the joints over time, auto immune, disease, and prlly some more I dont know about. So grogs back side is ok.

@ Nacaa - More power to you bud. My dad comes home in 3 days after a 2 year tour of duty! I hope the military goes well for you, its an honorable profession.

@ Grogs - No Im afraid my wife doesnt train, Im the physical one and my wife sort of balances me out. She is only about 5 ft 80 lbs, very non physical, and kind of shy and quiet unless you know her, while I am fairly agressive, especially when it comes to fighting. Sorry about your diagnosis, I hope its mild and not rheumatoid or anything of that nature...that would be horrible. BTW, how long have you been playing? Do you do any trading? Heheh, if your giving away the boneshade I might be interested in receiving it.... :) Im glad you have joined our lil OT as well, nice to see you have fit right in. The thing is once you start you can never leave again.

@ silo - fraid there arent any in stash. ill see if i can get one for you though. will get back to you on this one.

@ corax - seems items have been sent. ill send em to you sometime this week?

@ oapwm - perhaps some MP?

-roninDOG

@ronin - Cheers man!

@ Nacaa - Nice to see you mate. Sound like great fun, just take care of yourself. If you get yourself killed, ill kill you!

@ Rizzo - Arthritus (or at least the most common) is just the lack of fluids in your joints to lubricate them. As you dont have any lubrication, your joints kind of rub and it hurts like hell. Obviously this usually happens as you get older, but there are some types of arthritus that affect younger people. Its a real bugger.

Silo & Ronin:  hahaha okay I thought he meant something else hehe! Nevermind me then *scuttles back into his hole (in the ground)* :D

Edited to avoid further comments from Silo :D

Well time is both present, future and past, so time does indeed exist. It's the now that is a futile desription. When does now exist? Never, because now always changes, it doesn't exist but is in the same time omnipresent. A weird size to calculate with :)

Ah, but now, you see, you've entered the realm of existance. Technically, you cannot prove that you exist, or that anyone else (your parents etc) ever existed. Why does Napolean exist? Because some books were written about him. Even if you had met him, its once again, just electrical signals in your brain - again, circumstantial evidence.

That's pretty far fetched mr Silo :)
