Not sure where to put this but...

I've heard that there are ways to force the diablo clone to spawn on single player, and well I want to test out a new build I'm trying. If anyone could give me the details on how to spawn him, with or without the aid of a program, I would appreciate this quite a bit. If a program is required, and it does not meet the guidelines of these forums feel free to private msg me if it is allowed in that forum, or contact me via email or w/e. Thanks for everyones help... if I get any >.<''. :grrr:

If there is such a program that does it, I don't believe that it would meet the guidelines of the forum. I believe that the only illegal, unauthorized 3rd party hack/utility/application that's acceptable to talk about on the forums is atma. If there is such a utility, I'd suggest checking out some of the more reputable diablo2 mod sites, perhaps you'd be able to find a bit more information there.

Hope it helps.. :)

Well, making a mod to make him spawn shouldn't be too hard. Check out the phrozen keep, they may already have a mod made there specificly for this.

There were a couple of CRAZY SP mods made during the 1.10 beta that did exactly that. Check out the World Event page (if you can find it) on the main site for screenies and details.

While playing one such mod, my sorceress ended up running into the clone along with four or five 'minions' that were regular Diablos. Craziest fight I've ever experienced in this game. If you want to 'test builds' I guarantee there is no acid test quite like that one.

I no longer have the mod, nor do I know if it would even work anymore without the beta installed on your machine.

It was a harmless mod that only worked in SP. However, the best place to ask questions about such a topic would be the Single Play Forum. The regulars there would know much more about this stuff than little old me - I rarely play mods - or single player for that matter.

Dredd, I agree with you, i don't see anything wrong with character editors/mods etc. etc. in single player. But threads have been deleted here in the past couple of days when people were asking for the 1.10 item pack that used to be hosted here. a mod in one of the threads came down on someone for asking about a single player character editor as well.

I totally agree that there's nothing wrong with useing an item pack or character editor to test out builds in single palyer.. but it's not my site and I diden't make the make the messed up double standard rule of which 3rd party hacks can be talked about and which can't.

The only reason I decided to discuss it at all was because there are screenshots and a brief mention of such a mod on the main site's old World Event page and I thought I would bring it to the Deceitmeister's attention.

I wasn't trying to discredit you though - what you posted is 100% valid.

As far as I can remember, discussion of game mods has always been ok, although linking is probably as always, a no no. That said, you can't beat phrozenkeep for mod discussion.

Personally i wouldnt care if you wanted to maphack diablo 2 to pieces on single player. If i recall correctly 3rd party stuff is only illegal when youre on bnet.....blizz wouldnt care if you do it on SP, because youre hurting neither theyre servers or other people :O.

Suggestive is right, blizzard's got no say what goes on at this site, if the owners decided that they wanted to host maphack for download they could and blizzard woulden't have anything to say about it.. (not that they would) and technically speaking, 3rd party stuff violates the EULA that you agree to when you install the game, so no it's not only on battle.net. Fire off an email to blizzards legal department and ask their lawyers if it's legal in terms of the EULA to use ATMA to modify blizzards propritary character files.. it's not.. however atma is accepted by the owners of this site, and is alright to talk about here, which just goes further to prove that this site is privately owned and can make their own decisions independant of what blizzard says/wants.

When you create an account on battle.net you are agreeing to a second EULA, which means that if you use maphack on battle.net you are violateing the EULA that you agreed to when installing the game (using unauthorized 3rd party software to modify blizzards propriority file, unauthorized derivitive works etc. etc.) but you are also violateing the EULA you agreed to when createing a battle.net account..

as a side note .. I'm not saying that anything here is right or wrong.. simply stateing the technical legal status in accordance with the EULA.

Actually your not quite correct

I operate the largest Open Battlenet site in the world 80,000 members, We are almost exclusively Open /Single Player

When i set up the site i did exactly what you said shot of an email well a few actually to Blizzard and asked if they had any problems with the files i hosted / created. Well to cut the story short NO there is NO issue with Single player or Modded games in fact if you know the code well enough you would realise that D2 is in fact designed to be modded and Blizzard actually encourage Modding both on there own forums and in press releases that have been made over the years..

Characters created with D2 single player that reside on your Harddrive are a bit like a document you would create in Microsoft word, simply because you use the program to create somthing, does not give ownership or Authorship to the manufactuer of the software.. Same as Microsoft dont own a novel written in Word

EULA's always contain catch all phrasing ,its the nature of the beast. However Catch all clauses are rarely enforceable in law.. And in the instance of Single player / modded games are not relevent or enforceable..
