Ever considered asking the Site Admins for a Mod forum?
I haven't. In the 2 years I've been here, there hasn't been nearly enough extended interest in discussing mods. There is usually none, with the occasional flare of interest, like now. :)

If you are talking about a full-fledged mod/tool hosting function, I've never considered it at all. This would take a huge amount of work and a technical expert "on staff" to deal with it all.

@Liter soul
For someone who doesn't think this discussion belongs here, you sure spend a lot of time in this thread. Maybe if you ignored it it wouldn't bother you. :scared:

The names crack me up as well, Krollin.

My favorites thus far: "Wind Dancer the Never Hugged as a Child" (don't remember where)
"Something something the One You Are Currently Highlighting" (found him near Andy).

My Zon is currently level 18 and just finished Act 1. Think imma do me some Countess/Tristram runs, though, to find me their dolls (Blood Raven dropped me hers on the firts try).

I just spent 20k gold on killing duriel. There must have been like 5 monster generators, and I was forced to use all the skill points I had for dodge and avoid instead of hoarding them for strafe and master archer. I was still getting reamed, so I used the golem in a bottle shield, cast like 5 clay golems (at 3k a charge) and meeled duriel to death. I almost got killed afterwards because of all the remaining generators pumping out monsters.
I'm enjoying having to think a little differently while playing this mod. :)
I found the summoners doll too, but no more cool souls.

Liter_soul - You'd better just join us:P Seriously though, threads pop up in the SP forum about training dogs and asking if someone looks like Jack Osborne. This actually has some relevance. The reason I post here is because I'm a member of these forums, I like the forum members here, and I don't want to deal with a bunch of dopes from another forum.

Man, this mod is TOUGH, just about nigh impossible with my melee poison daggermancer.

Took me and my brother an hour and a half to make it through andariels room, then slowly whittle her life away with my dagger cause she can instantly destroy any summoned creature, and whittle you down to 1 health in a heart beat. Good challenge!

Word of advice to any newbies with this mod: Don't go melee at first unless you're seriously tweaked or have a thing for hair ripping frustration.

I'm always up for hosting muliplayer games, I'm [email protected] on msn.

Anyone else having trouble with the Act 2 Morons? Mine rushes into battle, blips offscreen, then comes back and doesn't move. At all. He'll be there when I go through, say, cave doors, but still won't be moving. Once every five minutes or so he becomes "unfrozen" and rushes back into battle... only to freeze again. I've tried switching mercs multiple times and various gear combos. Anyone?

well, im doing the most uber... erm... uberest... erm, yah that ;) of all of you, i just cant stop playing, its weird, until i started playing this mod, it took me an effort to sit down at the comp and play, and now i cant wait :D its just like when i first got the game all over again. and since i have almost no responsibilities except work every now and then, :D well, if anyone wants to MP, email me at [email protected], or add me to msn msger at [email protected], both t's after turner are supposed to be there

Vanilla D2 has lost a little of his color, so I would like to try different versions and mods for a change. This mod really got my attention.

So what I need is a little help from you guys to safely use that version/mod switching applications. Some guidance through it.

If any of you will be so kind, please contact me at [email protected].

Thanks!

Well, despite going back to 1.10 because of the Unhandled Exception Errors, I've decided to give the mod another go (thanks to talking to Solo on MSN and finding out he has it too).

All I can say is... this mod is insane! Soooo many monsters in each area, all the changes, the abilities you can gain from monster Souls (like the ability to shapeshift into monsters - my Necro was a Quill Rat last night  - and you can get any character to use any skill, eg. I have a Druid with Blood Raven's Soul and he has +1 Raise Skeleton!)

My MP Necro is in Act 2 with Solo (we're both Skellymancers), and my SP Druid is in Act 1. Our fight with Andariel was EVIL (we've done it on /players 8 all the way), so I'm dreading what Duriel is like. I'll put it this way: down from ~190hp to 1hp from Andariel poison near instantly (I did have -10% resist to it though)...

And there's so many 'guest' monsters you might recognise from Diablo 1 as well!

The person who made this mod has done an incredible job, and I'd recommend that more people try it out  Only thing is, its a fairly hefty download at 43MB or so.

I need some help from those who know this mod better than I. First, some pally aura's drain mana, as has been previously mentioned, but some do not (resist fire for example.) Does anyone know which do and which don't? Second, how do the souls work, do I keep them in my inventory to gain the bonuses, or do I transmute them onto my medallion. I have done both and I don't notice a change.

Thanks

I can't help you on the pally auras, maybe Krollin will chime in, he experienced it first-hand. As far as souls go, transmuting them into your amulet will only give you bonuses once you reach a certain number. To get the bonuses listed on each soul, equip it in your ring slot, and only transmute the ones you have no desire to use. There is an item later in the game that allows you transform the souls into jewels so you can socket them. (I haven't found it yet unfortunately.)
