New posters : Read before posting

First of all welcome to the Hardcore forum, a vast amount of knowledge is here for the asking. Please observe a few guidlines before you post. Thank you and enjoy your stay.

-Do not ask or beg for items. If you are new collect gems and trade them using the Hardcore Trading forum http://www.rpgforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=37

-Be respectful of fellow posters

-If you are asking for help leveling or questing be sure to post your account name and realm that you play on.

-If you ask for advice or assistance come back and thank whom ever helped you out.


We are for the most part a friendly and helpful community. If you observe these few guidelines your stay here will be pleasant for all parties involved.

Im asking this to be stickied to prevent the begging threads that seem to be popping up more frequently. A new poster comes here begs for items weather naive or not and gets flamed and never comes back. I hope this might steer a new poster in the right direction.
 
Don't tell them NOT to beg! OMG, those are some of the funniest flames in the forum. :lol: The other issue is you can sticky whatever you want and you can title it NEW POSTERS READ HERE FIRST all you want, but we all know they won't read it and they will post begs.

If this was stickied it would be even more justification for flaming/getting angry with new forum members because we could say it was right in the "Rules" Sticky. I wouldn't even mind a temp band for people that excessively beg if the rules are right at the top of the page titled "New posters: Read before posting"

(Not that we need justification for flaming beggers)

I hate hardcore anyhow. Pound for pound there are far more cheaters in Hardcore than in any other aspect of the game.

I'm not sure if he's calling us fat cheaters or cheat fatters, either way, nice attempt to start a flamewar!

Lol, naw, he's just some random moron that is trying to get us to flame him...of course, it will probably work because he does such a GREAT job of roleplaying an everyday bnet user.

Well, he's actually probably correct. While the majority of the people on this board seem to be legit, there is a lot more reason/opportunity to cheat when you play HC.

There is REASON (ok, it's an immature reason) to TPPK because you get permanently destroy something someone has done.

There is REASON to chicken-hack - to get a char to high level and claim you're uber l33t, even though you're just a cheater.

Other than open-bnet I would actually guess that the poster was right that there are more cheaters. I'm just proud I'm not one of them.
 
Youd be amazed at how many people use chicken in SC as well. SC has more dupes and botters then HC does.

Yes but he comes to the HC Forum, where for the most part everyone is legit and talks about cheating as if we don't know it exists. I actually don't see his point in making his post because we all know that there are more hacks in HC because of the fact that it IS HC. People are more cautious, so they result in cheating to stay alive or permanently get rid of someone's character. Whether it beTppk, chicken etc etc it doesn't matter. Of course there is going to be more cheats in HC, unfortunately it has to be that way ...

Why? What's the point? I maybe could see it at 90+ so that you don't lose your XP, but if you take this game THAT seriously, you've got problems.

What would that say about morals & work ethic of people in this world? I don't want to lose something that doesn't exist and that I can get back with a little more PLAYING, but I'd rather not have to PLAY more than I need to, so I'll resort to cheating. *shudder*
 
Wow...I am amazed at the many different opinions and debates that come up from one little kid, purposely trying to start something.

To comment on what Pain said about people taking the game that serious. Believe it or not, I have heard of someone slitting their wrists after losing a Hardcore character...If that means anything. Theres people out there that take this game way more seriously than we could ever imagine. Hell, I'm sure there is a few from the forums as well. And by the way, I know your opinion was directed towards softcore people, but I figure I'd mention the crazy dude.

And to comment on Valar's post. I hate it! It buggs me to a certain extent to know that what you said is very true but there are so many things that we could do about it. Yes, people do cheat way more on Hardcore than anywhere else because of the need to be ahead. It's a competition, and ALOT of people HATE to lose. So they think that gives them the reason to cheat. It's true in so many different ways. But here in D2 Blizzard could stop that if they wanted too. I mean come on...ya it would be a hell of a difficult weekend stoppin all of the botters, dupers, and overall hackers, but it's not impossible. IMO, if Blizzard would pull their head out of Warcrafts butt, D2 would be a better place...

Per capita there's probably more hardcore cheaters...but we're not talking in that sense right?! In conclusion, there are actually more hackers on softcore so there!

They lose gold as they die also. Depending on what they use they can't die all the time, else they just can't fix their weapons and armors anymore. Pretty much weapons I guess, as armors usualy last enough so you normaly find a Ral before it brakes.

Also, they could store gold for gamblng, and it's not possible for bad players that build bad characters for some reason.*

*normaly sacrificing too much life and resistances so as to kill more.
 
Hell, if someone is complaining about FLAMES they are going to be in a big ole world of hurt if the real flamers start playing again!

Oh I see how it is Riebs :( Picking on my posts. :lol: I hope you know I was defending cheating in HC in anyway at all. I was just giving the "facts" about HC and how morons want to ruin the game by cheating. Just to clear anything up :)
