New in Barb, Qs on Strength

:howdy:

I am such new and you could see my noob question before

Basically, I am making a PvP WW barb for Duel purposes ONLY!

My ready gear:

1. Arreats (40/15ias?) or go for eth arreats?
2. Enigma (i remember it need 101 str.)
3. CB Botd
4. SS (I love shields, they save my as) (40/15ias) ?
5. Highlord / car eye ammy
6. Dual leech ring / bk ring
7. Dracul < The life tap gloves, my spelling is a bitach
8. 10 combat gcs
9. anni with 13 attributes
10. 9 x resist or life charm (maybe)
11. Vxxxx hear coil < the damage reduce one
12. Gore Rider

Some other question:

What base str i should have to wear all of them?
besides WW, is concentation a good choice to kick those WWsin?

just a bunch of random stuff before i get to strength:

-extra ias anyplace other than the weapon does not affect ww.
-make sure to have a stone and a duress ready to substitute for enigma under some circumstances.
-highlord's is better that cat's eye, especially for the skill bonus and the deadly strike.
-leeching is pointless in pvp -- you're wasting a ring slot... you should be using the angelic amulet/rings for melee anyways. ww has a hard time hitting opponents sometimes.
-life tap, as with all other ctc spells, cannot be triggered by ww, but dracul's is still great for open wounds. couple it with duress and maybe gores, and you're set.
-combat gcs are not worth it -- they only add damage and ar. why not get mastery gcs which affect a lot of other things like defense, resists, and maybe run/walk speed? or even warcry skillers for defense and life?
-max/ar/life charms are preferred over skillers, in most cases.

on to str. your highest requirement is BOTD, with 179 (assuming it's ethereal?)
you items give you ABOUT 173 str bonus (INCLUDING enigma). but you should always have enough base to wear your lowest req (dracul's at 50 str) without anything else on, minus anni, so you should have MINIMUM 37 str. this is near base and with some str bugging you could pump your life like no tomorrow. but if you use armor other than enigma that required number will shoot up to about 100 or more.

shite, i messed up my st too.....yes it is ETH CB, i have around 75 base str now shite... i need another barb, i just love tele a LOT :winner:

don't worry -- no matter WHAT charms you have, angelics are STILL required for melee duels. only in SOME cases can you use metalgrid+2x raven. the angelic bonus goes to the BASE ar; that base ar is THEN modified by things such as combat gcs and mastery gcs.

yes, i believe anni will give you the naked barb look. i know magical (blue) charms will do this for sure, but i'm not POSITIVE about anni.

lol, good luck making him. watch out for crazy strength bugging though -- dying is a REAL pain. get 2xfal warcry weapons (crystal swords are best, IMO), and maybe carry cathan's amulet and rings in your stash in case. leveling him might be hard with such low str but i guess you know that already.

REAL PAIN LVLING HIM! I am now lvl 20 lucky, leeching cow exp.
I wanna ask why dying is PAIN? you mean i can't pick up items at once or.....?

yup, picking up items can be hard if you're not wearing all your endgame equipment already. otherwise you could get a little unbalanced. but if you have enough str bug stuff like drac's to start it off and then maybe the wc weapons, you're fine.

you can always see equip with mh, just a very strange bug
