My new project

Okay, so I'm building the fury druid, thanks to an amazing wep Trebol found.

The weapon is :

Feral Axe
99-490
299% ED
40% IAS

Gear:

Feral Axe / Whitstan's - Fleshrender (fakes) + Fleshrender / Sigon's shield (prebuff)
Duress embossed plate (lvl 47! )
Jalal's (pruby)
Angelic's ammy + ring (need massive AR)
Ravenfrost (20 dex)
TGods
Gore Riders
Bloodfists (FHR)

That gives me 100% FHR, which hits the 3 frame BP, and a 5 frame fury.

Skills:

Max fury (for level)
Max Lycanthropy
3 in Werewolf
Max heart of wolverine
Prereq

Comments/suggestions?

I can see this working if it's PvM.. and PvP, but I'd really suggest using a Sage. As well, it might be a little weaker PvP.

If it's PvP, get more points in Werewolf (+++AR)
If it's PvM, get a bear or something to take hits

You can't one hit K.O. chickeners without HoW.

More points in WW isn't really an option, I want maximum amount of life, and angelics should give me enough. I don't have a lot of statpoints to mess around with either.

I don't know who you've been talking to, but you don't build a Fury Wolf to one-hit K.O. anything, and your chances of doing so will be miniscule. Fury is all about speed and damage output.

I understand he's trying to help, and help is appreciated, but then, he's probably sensible enough to know that he's not the best in dueling, and won't mind such an offhand comment.

As for the fury, you can easily one hit K.O NM Baalers. I've seen it being done, and I wasn't talking about one of the fury attacks, I was talking about a swipe of fury.

In conclusion, let's get back to the topic at hand!

My lvl 85 pvp fury druid.. has some gear like yours.. but that aside:

a) No Shield
b) No Oak

ALOT of characters.. will make short work of you.. mid level chargers.. mid level barbs.. amazons (bow and jav). If anything, it'll be a pker, as opposed to a dueler.

I think lvl 39 Headstriker charger could kill you pretty easily. Always hit charge + knockback.. and.. oh wait.. no damage reduce..

If you WW, he has no shield? that'll be a funny duel.. you'll be pumping juvs there oxy.

you might want to consider shaeled shaft instead of duress.. not a very good armor for HC dueling. (its only really good mods are open wounds and FHR... crushing blow is overrated in PVP)

a major issue here is hat choice. id wager that guillaumes or a +3 hat with ed or max in it would be more effective, seeing as you aim for a "1 hit KO"

additionally, id either ditch the tgods or consider not depending on its str for thr rest of your items. the stats are great and all, but if you run up against the aforementioned 39 eth hs charger, you'd be screwed. i'd have a few armors/belts available to you in stash. soe/shaft for DR when u know you're up against phys. 120 res armors in cold/light/fire, with a tgods/snowclash when you know ur up against specific elementals, or a smoke for general protection. also, have a 120/life armor or 60/life armor (steve could run calcs).

ive found successfulness in being prepared for anything on my 49 zerker. gear switching allows you to hold an advantage vs any opponent by being prepared for whatever they have to throw at you. you may end up with a bit less life, but you'll have versatility.

bohe: i dont really think guillames can beat jalals...... jalals is the "arreats" of shapeshifter druids.

Since you already have 15% deadly from gores, the possibility of double damage is already there, guillames will just increase it

But guillames is an interesting choice, definitely worth consideration:

Let me just go through both helms mod-by-mod

defense: jalals wins (by just a little bit) although defense doesnt really matter much...

damage: just looking at RAW DAMAGE, jalals increases shapeshifting skills by 4, which means 68% ED (fury)

life: +4 shapeshifting = +4 lycanthropy, and also means you need to invest 4 extra into werewolf to hit whatever BP you wanted to hit. So thats 4 less pts in lyc and 4 less in oak sage/HoW (i think sage is better).

SO assuming +4 lyc and 4 more into sage, that gives +40% to base life from jalals, none from guillames

AR: jalals has 20% bonus, guillames has none

Stats: jalals has 20, guillames has 15 (not a huge difference)

ALL resist: jalals has 30% all res, guillames has none.

OTHER: Here is where guillames shines: 15% deadly strike, 35% crushing blow. Quite honestly, i consider the crushing blow is a minor,minor mod. Its definitely not going to help you survive or get 1-hit kills.

So I'm just going to consider the 15% deadly strike. Say we do 4000 fury damage. Before guillames we have 15% chance to do 8000 damage, and 85% chance to do 4000 damage. The average is 4600.

We have 30% chance to do 8000 damage (because we already have 15% deadly from gores). So we have 70% chance to do 4000 damage and 30% chance to do 8000 damage. So the average is 5200. So our average damage went up by 13%. This is more than jalals can deliver.


CONCLUSION: Guillames adds more damage. Jalals (IMO) has better mods in general. So I'd use guillames for PKing (unless your pkin casers) and jalals for real duels.

You're right about the no shield/no oak part. Hrm. Well, people told me that it was better to just go with a fast 2 handed weapon. I'll go with that.

Alright, if I was going after a mostly melee damage party, I'd wear Shaft + String. If I was going after a mainly elemental damage party, I'd wear Duress/Lionheart/Smoke + TGods?

So, I guess I'd be going into Oak? I want this char to survive quite a while. I'd like (with Oak) 3k+ life. (shooting for 20+ vita SCs)

Level 48 PKer/Dueler.

If that axe is unsocketed be sure to put a shael in it because with one shael u will have a 4 frame fury. (60% ias feral axe)

I need a Hel rune in it cause I'm not busting thirty stat points (like, 300 life - 30 vita x 2 x 2.25 x oak) on str. I prefer a five frame fury and staying alive :]

This is ****ed. With just the + life from items/charms, I got a whopping 1240 more life (with prebuffed Oak - yes, I'm going for it, WW and Lycanthropy. Awesome).
