my healing paladin build for hardcore. questions inside.

so! my account was wiped :( now i want to start over and have fun while doing it, instead of creating a sorceress to farm for new gear i decided to create a healing paladin on hardcore and keep people alive.

my build:

maxing holy bolt
maxing prayer
10-20 meditation
maxing fists of heavens

i'm completly relying on FoH if i ever have to solo (let's hope not). i need to know if the holy bolts released by FoH only damage undead or will they damage any mob they hit?

if you guys got suggestionson build, please post them also.

Holy bolts only hurt the Undead. I've never played a medic, so I can't help much besides that. Give the Cleric guide a look if you haven't already. Its in the stickied guide thread.

My advice if you have concerns about ever soloing is this- build a Battle Cleric. I actually just finished leveling mine (my 4th or 5th Cleric overall now). Max holy bolt, prayer, holy shield, and fanaticism. For offense use Fanat and a 1 pt Smite. With some CB gear, you can easily take on baal. With life tap and some CB and OW, you can uber. Maxing these 4 skills, prereqs, and having 1 pt in every defensive aura except the individual resists will put you at lvl 81. Anything past there is up to you and depends mainly on the gear you have.

For the rich- get a prayer merc wielding a good insight. Use an exile for defiance, have cleansing as your main aura with a decent lvl salvation as backup. Redemption should be fine with 1 pt and some +skills. Pack in +skills gear and fcr. If you want to uber/go on the offensive: go for shako, maras, dracs, gores, exile, heavens light (or redeemer), etc. There's other choices but these have worked quite well for me. I plan on eventually leveling mine to 90 and will likely put the extra points in either defiance (defense bonus to HS) or in a skill that will allow me to deal with phys immunes. Haven't really planned it out yet completely.

Anyways there's my two cents. Good luck.

I play HCL and I had a cleric during the first season. Now obviously you're not going to be doing damage most of the time assuming you're in a group. That's not a problem, but when there weren't any groups around, what I did once I reached Hell was to head to the Mausoleum in Act 1 next to Blood Raven. All of these monsters are undead and SLOW. This is good, as it leaves you room to fire a bunch of Holy Bolts at them. It's a level 85 area, so you're going to get pretty good experience and you can magic find if you'd like relatively easily and safely. What to do before you reach Hell? Just try to get through it as quickly as possible :). If you're on West look me up and I'll see if I can help you out. My account is *WNxTheZapper
