Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Well MFO is over and one big part of my life is closing behind it.
It is just long time I waited for that moment and I dreamed lot of time about while when it will came(when moment camed it was not so heroic as I expected, but I was tired in the middle of the night). I found it earlier then I myself expected beacuse I was not convinced yet that I just deserved it enough according to number of runs I did in my D2 carieer. I was prepared to fight quite longer to that but that drop taked me that exciting for next months so I think that I will not be so competitive in another MF tournament anymore.
Now when I have Tyrael, I can finally quit without any feel of guilty and unfinished work or project, I can finish my PGS degree, I can get married and set up family and other stuff like that
Only project I will not prolly never complete is level 99 hitted by killing p8 hell ancients but I can live without it.
This was a moment I waited for
drop
screen
Now I need to complete my grail beacuse even if stormlash and Tyraels were only 2 unique items I did not have, still I was enough lazy to run cow king for set items from him, so it will take couple of hours longer to find green war hat and studded leather and then my self-found grail will be completed.
I want to thanks to Alchemist team that they did so great work to win team competition. Sequana dominated with untwinked char which putted shako on char after she found it just in MFO and so beacuse finding Tyrael and Zod is awesome and incredible.
Denton is hero for that he did, he is not MFer so he needed luck to do that but he did it and that is important .
And powergaming by skiffcz was pretty cool and effective beacuse pindle category was so hard this year as all of them.
Another thanks go to my friends Jingizu, Corrupted, Hrus, Ugla and RIP which prayed me best wishes before MFo and helped me a lot all the time.
Another to enemies which I respected a most like : Fabian, Thomh and Zaliqai
And thanks to Fabian for Organizing this and other supervisors for outstanding organization.
To all others for gratulations
To teams Kittens and Unnamed for their strong effort beacuse they were full of star players of SPF and they motivated us so much to our results.
I am very sorry for Fabian and LiquidClear beacuse they did so much runs with so embrassing results but I hope that next time it will be yours
I am holding glory for Zaliquai which IS legend of MFO competition with his 4 victories and at least 2 times 2 nd place as far I remember beacuse his score was even this time impressive. And if this was your last MFO, you will miss a lot in this competition.
As numbers from my MFO said: I did about 3k of pit runs, I did not use any run counter or any other counter but I did close to 70 hours of pits with average time cca 1:15-1:20 with my ww barbarian.
I found 57 times TC 87 item and 34 of them were green one
As non qualifiers I found Jah, 3 Sur, 3 Lo and 2 Ohm
4 Mara Kaleidoskopes (one of them perfect), 13 Facets, BK ring, SoJ
5 Horizons, 2 Stone Crushers, 4 Lightsabres, 1 Templars
I am level 95+ with my barbarian now even if I played on p1 settings all the time but I started on 93.7 or like that
My MF were about 300 beacuse I used high damage gear as beast+grief with arreats and e-GPA insight on might merc with forti
Best items Haul
Sacred armors
Jewelery+runes
As items picking posibility is here I want to use it to take some trophies
Since I do not care anymore about any unique items I do not want to take from anyone some usefull item or grailer as I did just twice after my victory.
But in my category there are names which I want to have on personalised items:
first of all Fabian´s Spirit keeper (one of them you can choose, I hope it is no problem for you)
Thomh´s Ravenlore (if this one have high roll, and you will not want to lose it, I can give you one of 2 perfect Ravenlore´s (I mean -EFR is 20) from my stash for that)
Jdkerr´s Dragonscale ( if it is grailer I will give you another Dragonscale)
scrcrw´s Azurewrath ( if it is grailer I will give you another Dragonscale)
Let me know if it is OK for all of you, thanks
and you all know my mail I suppose
SO once againg thanks to all and good luck to your other runs and your RL´s
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Well done to all the competitors. Nice to see this tradition keeps on trucking.
Congratulations to all those who found grailers and items/runes which are going to be useful in future builds.
Major kudos to the winners in each category. Each MFO gets more OTT than the last. Tyreal's, Zods and just incredible scores.
Also thanks to everyone getting their scores in fast so the results went up so fast. Absolutely great to see that.
Although .... why wasn't I last?
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
OK, those results are insane. It seems these days you can't win an MFO unless you find a Tyrael's.
Congratulations to The Alchemists for a clean sweep of all the categories and leaving the Kittens coughing up fur balls. For once bass' actually delivered on his pre-match trash talking
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
First things first, thanks to Fabian for hosting this whole thing, and also to the supervisors (especially bassano) for their good work. Congrats to all the winners for the results, pretty sick finds and scores there.
As for me, it was my first MFO and I enjoyed it much (except towards the end when I couldn't improve my score).
I ran with a MeteOrb sorc and did a hundred runs each day, ~full clears all on /p3. Levelled up her from 90 to 94 (died about 5-6 times). Didn't used a run counter, but I think a run took about 3-4 minutes with looting...
I've found a total of 83 qualifiers, 17 grailers and 12 TC87s, highest rune was Ist.

Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
57 TC87s sounds very nice in 70 hours bassano. Makes me think I was even more unlucky than I already thought
So at least 4 of the 7 A85 competitors played Berserk Barbarians then? That's pretty awesome, where did those come from? :whistling:
I'll take care of the Spirit Keeper soon, and I really hope you will still compete in MFOs and similar bassano, we would hate to lose you!
Edit: And looking forward to the final MFO League Round, soon I hope
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
First of all I want to thank Fabian for continuing in MFO tradition and all fellow supervisors for their contribution. I think this round was really well done . All those impressive results and lucky victories, pity there can't be two winners. That's the charm of MFO.
And, ufff. Last few days were extra ordinary for me, literally. I found Tyrael's, grailer, and I still can't believe it is true. And then, in the same day, also a Zod rune. I would never guess this is possible. Pure happiness.
But that's not the only thing what makes me feel free now. After five years I finally finnished my dissertation thesis, last week I got it print. That's the reason I had a lot of time for playing and finally could enjoy it really in calm. By coincidence, I started play D2 at the same time as I started my PhD studies and now studies is over (although I had a feeling I will be student forever) and the most difficult step in D2 also. I think I need some time to fully realise that.
Off-topic:
And somehow I want to explain why one member of our team, guy from cold north, used those silly smilies and joined a MF event like this, although it is not really his style :
Hopefully Dent won't bite me for this : D.
I'm a member of this forum for several years and I've always had a really nice time here. But SPF gave me much more than just fun and good time. In past (2007) at one point I was eager to try PvP, so I did. I had zero knowledge, zero exp and below-average equipment, but that didn't matter much. I met in Moor love at first kill.
Later then we met for the first time in RL, on neutral ground in Poland, and that decided. If you meet the right person, no distance is far enough. And we both enjoy flying gladly. I was stuck in Prague because of my studies, but now this ends. After finishing my duties here I plan to move to Finland, simply jump there without looking around and live our fairy-tale. No dream is crazy enough to not try it.
And I know this is not connected with MFO anyhow. The point is that I'm simply happy and that Tyrael is cherry on top of it
And I won't take any items, enjoy them.
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Can't believe people's luck in this thread. Congratulations to all
I did around 4000 Pit runs on p1 on my necro. Around 550 MF. I did alot less running on weekends, but during the week I must've done at least 10 hours a day. Here's the fail hauls:
Some uniques:
Boring greens. I'm particularly happy about the Sacred Armors (not really).
Rune haul.
I mean seriously, what the hell is going on with that rune haul, Fabian ? This game has lost me. Almost feels like that's a week's worth of effort wasted. Gah. /depressed
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
zarqu's rune haul pic might be leading so far in this thread. If that Zod was something else, it almost definitely would; now it does have some "value" I've still never had a Zod drop.
For me, another "fun" detail was that no Scourges, no Phase Blades, Legendary Mallets, no Sacred Armors, no nothing dropped. I think it was late Friday, ~48 hours in, before I had my first (and only) Stone Crusher. After that, two Horizon's Tornadoes also dropped, but that was it. So not only did I not find a single high scoring item, for the first 7 days, absolutely nothing dropped to even give me a glimmer of hope When the second unique Scourge dropped at 10.40 PM on Sunday night, I was so sure I had finally gotten my one worthwhile drop. Alas, it was not to be.
If that rune haul shows anything, it's that the variance in this game is pretty huge.
I also want to point out that LiquidClear scored 418 points in the Baal category without a "lucky" drop. In HC. With a character death in the middle of the MFO. That's a pretty special kind of awesome.

I will admit that I want to keep the eth fathom as it fits my eth grail perfectly. I have better rolled Fathoms if anyone want that instead. It isn`t a big deal, though, and feel free to pick it if you want, I`m not going to be angry
LiquidClear impressed me as well, and I felt bad for him losing with a measly point to Denton after all that hard work. Thanks to all my minions in the Baal category for superb reports during the course of the week and for great layouts when it comes to score reporting. You made my job very, very easy. Thanks to Fabian for organising this even.
I`m in the same camp as Fabian as I did an atrocious number of runs, but the top scorers simply wouldn`t drop. I don`t think I`ll bother with a screenie of my items as I have about 1.5 million Grandfather`s and I don`t want to install anything to run multiple instances of D2 at once. My screenie won`t be as impressive with just 1/5th of the TC87s considering my character has limited inventory space Oh well, I used all my luck in the last MFO, so I`m in no position to complaint. Non-qualifiers will be posted in the IFT and those were much, much better than the qualifiers.
@Sequana
Congratulations with your PhD and good luck in Finland! Welcome to the Nordic family and I hope you two will have a great fairy tale. Hopefully I`ll see both of you when the next D2 meeting comes around, I won`t miss it the next time.
I`ll see you all in the summer of `11!
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
ThomH,
I've emailed you the modified d2gfx.dll to allow for multiple instances. Now you have no excuse not to post a haul pic; they are always great to see anyway Also, thanks for not leaving me in last place, that would have been depressing
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Heh, I`ll get to it when I get home then
You`re welcome btw. I`m glad I could be of help, hopefully my team will be just as positive about it.
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Ok, I've seen too much already  Time for forum wide restart
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Congratulations to all! As always, an amazing competition with amazing finds.
@sequana: as a PhD dropout myself, I think I get what kind of achievement you've just had. A huge congratulations to you! Also, a nice love-story. Fits this forum incredibly. Grats on that, too!

Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
I'm starting to feel that I'm in the top when it comes to time used/results. Only ran for 35 hours and ~1500 runs with an average of 74 seconds. Not much else to say, congratulations to the winners and everyone who found their desired items. Thanks for the host and supervisors.
I'll write info about my runner later. Now it's time to start beating Nihlathak up again, half a level to 95.
Here's some terrible hauls compared to the others for you to laugh about. It's missing a 5@/14life sc I forgot about, not that it matters.
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
First many thanks to Fabian for hosting this MFO, all to the area supervisors and specially to the other Baal runners. With my amazing drops :badteeth: I knew that I was very very close to the win but I also knew that I couldn't relax and must kept going.
Also thanks to the team casual. scrcrw almost had it with that Tyrael's
Before MFO I enjoyed a lot Baal running with zal and we had Baal cough up a Cham.
Just 15 minutes before MFO I also had a gold Sacred Armor drop (templar's) which pumped me up, but it was followed by my first death with my Zon (that I can remember) that took away the energy templar's gave.
I started heavy running the following day and enjoyed running Baal a lot (I haven't heavy run him since I lost my old Meteorber).
A Jah dropped and kept me motivated and until the second update I had around 500 runs (no counter in mac that I know of, but my desk looks like a prison cell wall :whistling but a top5 with 30.8 points (and 3 gut siphons).
After that I made just more ~150 runs since the drops weren't helping (I improved my score in 0.1 points, a 4th gut siphon took leviathan's place). An almost perfect RJoF dropped near the end but there wasn't any nice qualifier to help me pump up and go for the 1000 runs goal.
My runner, Servilia, had a ravenzuka till NM act1 or act2, was then rushed by Zal and started the MFO in lvl91 and is now in lvl 95. She had 380ish MF, ran Baal p1/p3/p1, was a pure and fun LFzon that had many NDE, compliments of Gloams. Average run time ~3min with "trips" to gomule (I pick a lot of stuff and to swap titan's) and I ran a bit more than 30 hours (being the goal surpassing the 50 hours).
It's really great seing your amazing finds. Before next MFO I have to prepare myself better maps and probably going for other 85 areas (using several chars for different areas to be less "boring").
So and without further ado... the read-outs:
It's just a shame that I didn't foind NINE Gut Siphon to be able to send one to each other Baal runner!

Congratulations to all that participated. Very impressive results.
Bevy of gold sacred armors, archon staffs, hydra bows, and diadems, but few TMauls and Coronas. Go figure...
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Wow! Just wow!
Congratulations to all the contestants for all the phat loot.
Special congratulations goes to bassano for completing the Grail.
Extra special congratulations goes to bcoe for completing his second grail.
Thanks to the supervisors and Fabian for doing the dirty work
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Congrats bassano, awesome score! Congrats to everyone else too, the hauls this time are just sick.
Thanks to Fabian and the category supervisors!
I didn't keep any records of how many runs I did or how much time I spent running. For the first few days I ran a lot, especially to "justify" the early Tyrael's. In the second half of the week, my motivation dropped a bit and my schedule became a lot more casual. :smug: My estimate of "if no one else finds a Tyrael's I win, else I lose badly" turned out to be very accurate. The complete lack of rune drops (2xLem...) didn't help with the light burn-out.
TC87 Uniques were: 2xGlorious Axe, 2xZerker, War Pike, Winged Harpoon (Grailer ), Diadem, Myrmidon Greaves and 2xSacred Armor. No haul pic for now, maybe I'll edit one in later.
Thanks to Team Casual, the occasional chats were fun!

Fabian: I would like to steal your very nice CoA and I think that I have a use for it (if not, I would send it back). However, if you'd really like to keep it, I won't insist.
jdkerr: Your Death's Fathom looks pretty. :smug: Same conditions as for Fabian's CoA apply.
Kimppi: I'd like to ask for the Thunder Maul if it's an Earth Shifter and it's not a grailer/you want to use it.

See you all next MFO!
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Amazing competition, on all fronts.
I must confess, I have expected jDer to have 2 lashes and be way ahead of me. Still, kudos to the runcount. I consider myself beaten on this front and will gladly forfeit my Stormlash to him as a token of my respect. He was the strongest single source of my will to run untill the very end.
I would also like to thank all the other Pindle runners - an ugly category indeed, but we know who the true heroes of our teams are, right?
Congratulations also goes to my teammates - when I saw the results, I didnt know if I should laugh or what. It is a great feeling to be part of the A-team, indeed. Thanks Denton for "I wont have much time this MFO" delivery (Im so so glad I have taken the Pindle in the end, you can imagine). Bassano and his dream comes true does not need commentary - I know how much this means to him. I already had a beer today to celebrate it. And ofcourse, my personal hero Sequana with untwinked char and this incredible jump to the top. She also seems to be the happiest person on the planet right now, so I wont spoil it with words.
Fabian and JJScud deserves a words of hatred here too. Thank you guys for ruining one week of my life with this silly idea - and for bringing me about two years closer to the grave thanks to a health issues. Altough, the wrist is ok this time. Weird. My eyes not so much, on the other hand.
Now. The fun part. I know I dont play FAM and all, but meh. I think Ill make an exception.
jDer - I would love to have that fancy Crown of Ages
Rummski - Your Asterons seems as a perfectly acceptable payment
frozzzen - If its ok, Id love to have the best of the templars (str>vita>skills)
sasspire - You shall complete my masterplan with your Dragonscale
You can use skiffcz at gmail com
P.S. Originally, I had a little tourney with prizes in mind, but since no wands dropped, Ill have to win AT or Pits next year. Sigh.
Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread
Nice results everyone. Now I'm sorely tempted to make an Enigma with my meager rune wealth to mix things up on my runners. The Pits Poisonmancer looks pretty fun.
