Congrats to Alchemists for the perfect MFO. Right up until I got the results, I thought my team had a chance to win every category except my own, nice job taking that away from us Congrats especially to bassano for that Tyrael's, I know that's special to you.

The scores in general are insane. A lot of sickos out there

Huge thanks to my teammates, especially jimsfriend and LiquidClear for talking to me throughout the week. It was great having you as motivation/competition/etc. I'm sorry neither of you won in the end, that doesn't take away the huge effort you put in, and the really great results.

As for me, I played more than I expected to, just under 61 hours. All of that except for 20 minutes was with my Berserk Barbarian, who I was quite happy with. I did an estimated 2860 p1 Pit runs, 76 second run average. My map was quite boss pack dense, at least compared to other Pit maps I've run, and I was quite happy with my run time. Luck eluded me throughout the week though, and it was quite frustrating. I think my MFO is best summed up by mentioning on the second Saturday in my team channel how Knell Striker is the second most rare Unique possible, only to have it drop 20 minutes later.

In the end, I found 34 TC87s. Here's my haul pic:

I was expecting to find fewer runes, since my character's strategy was to kill very few monsters, and on p1, but I guess it just goes to show how common runes are nowadays.

jimsfriend and I had a bet (50 pgems) going on who would play more. We stayed close to each other throughout the week; in the end I won by something like two hours. That was great motivation for me, I had a lot of fun in our team channel this MFO

Finding and (probably) losing such a beautiful self-found CoA hurts a bit, but that's how it goes, and I have no immediate need for it anyway. Anything else you want readouts of, just ask.

That's over 90 hours of pretty solid effort in the last two MFO's without a drop worth over 15 points. Here's hoping luck will turn around in the next MFO, I'll come prepared at least!

Congrats to all the winners and participants in general for their ridiculous efforts, finds, and scores! Special congratulations to bassano for finally finding that pesky Tyrael's. Your entire team's finds are just silly, really. Remind me never to wish you good luck again.

Thanks to the category supervisors for their fine work, Kittens for adopting me knowing I wouldn't run much/at all, and JDK/PD for the usual amusing conversations.

Amazing haul! Congrats to the winners.

I'm quite happy with my MFO. My most-wanted unique was another Astreon's, and I got one with just over an hour left in the MFO. That completes grail#2 for me. #3 will be much tougher, with Tyrael's, Astreon's, Death's Fathom, and 2/3 of the cow set to go...

Holy moly! Huge congratulations to all the winners and grailers, those are some ridiculous results. And substantial thanks to the supervisors or course.

Unfortunately this all hit in a bad week for me, and I was only about to get in about 17 hours (with two zero days). Still a substantial effort for me, but I could have done about 25 in a better week and hope to next time around. Started this all at grail -59, picked up one in warmup and only three more in the period. I only got 4 TC 87s, and three of them were among the 7 I already had - those are the breaks I guess. I had a lot of qualifiers in the 7-9 point range, but was completely shut out from the top 25 or so items. The net of my rune pickups is somehow just Pul + Lem . The only potential pick of my items would be the shadow dancers and they only rolled +1, so I won't clutter this with my readouts unless somebody's curious.

Thanks again for the motivation and inspiration!!

Ouch, Denton, you just broke my heart!

First, formalities: Thanks to Fabian for running the whole thing, and to the supervisors (ThomH especially, since he was my category chief!). People like you guys willing to take the time out to do this sort of thing are the key to these events and all the fun they contain! Also thanks to Fabian (again) and jimsfriend for hanging in IRC since I was able to talk while running baal. Definitely would not have run so hard without teammate communication, so thanks guys.

So basically I'm embarrassed about the numbers I'm about to post...

Run Time: 103 hours, 58 minutes

Average Run Time: 2 minutes 50.28 seconds

So, obviously, I ran a lot. I'm unemployed and not in school at the moment, so sue me! The first 264 runs were completed with my Lightning sorc, Rydia. She worked pretty well and had ~395 MF, ran the entire time on p1 and averaged ~2:30 per run with her, the fastest recorded being 2:00 flat. However, tragedy struck on run 265 and an Unraveler reviving dolls while I wasn't paying attention ended up being her undoing; RIP @ level 94, almost hitting 95.

At that point I wasn't sure what character to bring in next. I tried my Frenzy barb, but run times were way too long. I respec'd a level 82 sorc, but her merc kept dying making the runs intolerably long as well. I finally pulled out my level 82 Dual Dream Paladin, parked in act 3 hell, and pushed him through. He was guardianed at level 84, and thus he became my new runner. He started with ~300 MF, as I piled on life charms out of paranoia, but by the end of the MFO I hit 400 MF, replacing life with MF charms. He was definitely slower than the Lightning sorc, but not by as much as I would have thought. His runs averaged just over 2:50, every single one done on p1. He started Baal running at level 84 and by the end of the MFO was level 95, about 85% to 96.

As for the finds, I found 8 TC87 S/U's in all; the 3 sets were bumped out of the top 5. All I can say is Baal sucks, and I won't be visiting him again any time soon (except for questing). One TC87 every 13 or so hours with 400 MF isn't all that impressive to me. My finds were pretty well spread out overall.

Looking forward to participating in any other category next MFO; it got stressful by the end running so much. All in all, though, it was a very fun experience and I can't wait to compete again I'm now moving to softcore from HC, which was planned beforehand (the sorc death wasn't a factor) and I'm not transferring stashes, so it's essentially a rebuilding period for a while now.

Pretty amazing for one team to take first place in every category, and it's also crazy to see how many tyrael's might were found. Congratulations Team Alchemists!

I was hoping to get over 60 hours in the mfo, but didn't quite make it. Ran AT for a total of 58:47:57 and 4440 runs with an average run time of 47.017 seconds and ~5 boss packs, all with my blizzard sorceress who went from level 92 to 95 on p1 only and 691-695 mf. I sent Fabian his 50 pgems for putting in more hours than me; congratulations Fabian.

I found something like 27+ tc87 items. Not really sure, because I started leaving "useless" items on the ground like the unique legend spike, which I left behind at least three without even realizing it was a tc87. I also made a pretty large noobtastic blunder in not picking up unique phase blades. I didn't realize there was more than just lightsabre, so after my first one I just left them on the ground. Fortunately I won't have to kick myself too much because even if there had been 2x Azurewrath to add to my score I would still be in 3rd place.

Overall I don't think I got anything with great rolls, and was pretty miffed when - with 12 minutes left - I found my third set sacred armor, and still no unique. Oh well

The only rune I found that I consider worth mentioning is Lo. I also found a 5/5 poison facet, a 5/4 light, and a 4/4 poison; an soj, 2x tal rasha's adjudication and a 2/2/2 lidless eye.

I ran the pits with a poison necromancer. I ran on p7 for a bit over half of the tournament with my fastest run times around 80 seconds. I then ran on p3 for the other half with my fastest run times just under 60 seconds. Average for the entire tournament reads about 75 seconds on the run counter. 2129 runs total, stopping at about 10:30pm when I hit level 95. I varied my gear setup a bit early on, but for the vast majority of the MFO I used a 125%fcr setup with 479% MF. My Act5 Barbarian mercenary and I become good friends, what with all the time we spent together.

Re: Winter MFO 2011 Results Thread

First of all this was a great experience. ~5150 runs of Pindle, /p1, runs avg. of 21.7s with trips to the stash included. All run with my Blizz sorc, 430-469% MF (Picked up some War Travs and a couple of MF charms during the runs). Watched seasons 1-5 of Weeds and the first 4 episodes of Season 6 during this, which really helped me get in the zone. Gold and Green Double Axes were by far my most common item found, with yellow Caduceus's right up there. I was granted three green ones, but could never get a gold one to bolster score. In one of my final runs a Legendary Mallet dropped (about 30 runs after the Dimensional Shard) and I got really excited, but alas it was merely a Stone Crusher. I will say that now I know I have to step it up in the next MFO. Apparently 31 hours of running was not nearly enough, although I am quite pleased with my 5th place finish given the time put in (and the Fathom found within the last hour of my running).

When sequana mentioned having found a second wind this last weekend I thought she'd found something really nice, but I didn't expect a Tyrael's. Her witchcraft did seem to work though since I found nothing from then on until about 2.5 hours from the end of the MFO when Stormlash dropped. That's when I figured her witchcraft had failed since only a Tyrael's was likely to beat me...seems these alchemists are capable of more than just mixing potions after all.

My run was done on p1. I was planning to try and do 6k runs but it wasn't necessary. I popped the chest on my first run...et voila! (Haul Pic) I can't believe I had the other Kittens!!! thinking I was actually doing runs for the last ten days.

I had a great MFO. I was looking for grailers and though I "only" found two (very happy with that) they included Astreon's which is the rarest one (besides Tyrael's) I was still looking for. Also found some other nice qualifiers and non-qualifiers. I haven't run an 85 area yet in an MFO but the amount of Unique TC87s I found seems rather low. That's just an observation though since I'm extremely pleased with the ones that did drop.

Congrats to you sequana on your Tyrael's! I hope it's a grailer since that would make it extra special. Here are the readouts of the qualifiers I kept. Having already seen two Tyrael's while doing my supervisor duties, I knew beforehand how incredible the final tally would be. And WOW!, first place in the Baal category separated by so little!! What a crazy MFO this has been...

...And I'm very glad to have been a part of it. My drop luck wasn't great, but the experience was awesome. From the random posts in the running thread, the excitement of seeing everyone's awesome drops during the updates, and all the positive feedback I received for what little work I did as a supervisor all added up to excellence.

Speaking of my runs, I tried. Not 100% all out effort, and my limited time available hindered me some, but I tried pretty darn hard. I stopped using a run counter after I lost my map on Sunday, but I'm estimating I did between 30 - 35 hours of runs. If I averaged a minute per run, that puts me at 1,800 - 2,100 runs.

The results were unimpressive. Three TC87s; two made it on my top five, and the other was an IKSC, the fourth qualifier I found. I thought it was a sign of good things to come, but instead it was the closest I ever got to a golden Sacred Armor. I'm uncertain as to what my highest rune was, but I'm guessing it was a Ko. Not... good. If I did a MFO haul pic, there'd be like two items in it.

All in all, the loot was quite terrible, but the experience made up for it. Thank you to all the competitors in the Other Level 85+ Areas for being so cooperative and gratifying, to the other supervisors for also doing a great job, to all the active participants & especially those who ran the AT with me, and of course massive applause to Fabian himself for carrying on a tradition that is a defining tournament for the SPF.

...Wait, wait, wait... jDer, did you just say your top 5 items were swallowed up by the earth, never to be seen again?!? If that's true, my gods... that's absolutely terrible! If I had any DWebs to spare, you'd get one from me in a heartbeat...

My top five readouts in case someone wants to yank something from me. I'll ask that you be nice if possible... the Fathom is a grailer, but it's also got terrible stats, so... you'd have to be mean AND mental to ask for it. :badteeth:

Thanks again Fabian for being a wonderful host for the MFO and getting this thing together again. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the competition and the friendship with the guys specifically from Team Kittens!!! and the other competitors as well. I would also like to thank Thomh for being the Baal category's supervisor and being cool with me for being late a couple times getting my updates in.

I endured about 70 hours of running Baal with a pure light sorc totally made possible by Zaliqai and his generous loaning of equipment and advice. Without his help, I would have been stuck running with my hammerdin or possibly my fishyzon and the times would have been much much slower. Also, jdkerr, frozzzen, and nagisa were huge helps in the get-me-through-the-bad-times while running.

As it was, I see that it would have hardly made much of a difference score-wise as I hardly found anything worth finding. There will be no haul-pic, just as TRM says, I only found 3 TC87's, and the only runes I found were Mal and lower. So no sexyness here. Probably the only good things found were 2 5/5 and 1 4/5 fire facets. Along with a perfect (30/15) Ruby(fireres) jewel of fervor.

Honestly, I am very glad to see my high score from the alvl 85 category broken (mostly because I felt a faint competitive interest in keeping up with the scores to see if it happened and now it's done with; no more need to be concerned with it, yay!), and by one of the most prolific runners of the SPF no less, and even happier to see bassano completing his grail. It was very well deserved!

I'll admit to barely glancing over the rest of the results, but congrats to everybody else, as well, truly insane finds from what I can see.

Edit: Congrats to sequana on her Tyrael's and scrcrw on his Tyrael's, as well!

Good game, Alchemists. It seems there was a lot of impressive effort in this MFO, so I must say I'm glad I was lucky enough to not let my team down.

Special thanks to sequana for motivating me during the MFO, and huge congratulations for finally finding that ever-elusive Tyrael's, not to mention the Zod. : )

Edit: Almost forgot, keep in mind that sequana achieved her victory with an untwinked character which she started just a few days before the MFO. Just how cool is that? Very cool if you ask me. Oh yeah. OOOH YEAH! Ok now I'm making it seem uncool. ❤❤❤ (Why aren't there any smilies with a cute fluffy cat in them? I would so spam them all around this post. Not referring to Team Kittens, btw.)

Wow LiquidClear, that was close. It seems luck was on my side; I didn't count my runs but I know I didn't do even nearly as many runs as the other top Baal runners. A nice surprise was that I found my top 3 items during the last Friday and Saturday.

I used my pure light sorc for almost all of the runs and varied the runs between p1 and p8, but ran mostly on p3 and p1. I don't have Infinity, so I was on the edge of using a Blizz/Nova sorc instead, because of the immunes, but it turned out the light sorc with 200% FCR is just my preferred character even without Infinity, so I stuck with that.

I won't take any prizes.

So summary of this MFO is that I should be prophet rather then regular

a) Prediction that two Tyrael's Mights would be found in Other 85 areas - check
b) That Zal won't be first due to Tyrael's - check
c) That I'll end up fourth in the end - check

Good for me. +9000 runs with 55% hork didn't help my case it seems Sick results everywhere. 241 total qualifiers were found with highlight being +15/-19 Griffon's.
Runes Sur Sur Ist Zod - very happy with haul.
Finishing grail was nice addition to this year, but admittedly I'm a bit disappointed/jealous when I see all those crazy haul pictures :crazyeyes:

Then I'd like to ask Team Alchemists to please go back to their potion lessons with Professor Snape and never come back. Your clean sweep of all categories is disgusting!

Founds were pretty insane this MFO. Air is filled with digital awesome of highest degree. Sick, sick, sick. Gratz to Bassano for finding Tyrael's and completing grail, as well as other Tyrael's finders.
