Merc equipment questions

Hi, First time thread poster and I am looking for some advice. I have a meteorb sorc that I am going to use for MF'ing in Hell. I am also going to use a defensive merc from act 2 Hell to help her, I think they are all around level 64. What is specifically the best equipment to outfit my merc with ? Looking for suggestions on all three items (helm, armor and weapon). I will thank you in advance for your sage advice and wisdom.

Helms:
Crown of Thieves (Eth if possible)
Gaze (eth or 08 if possible)
Tal Mask

Armor:
Eth Stone
Eth Duress
Eth Shaft

Weapon:
Botd eth polearm
Eth Tomb Reaper
Eth Bonehew

Screw bonehew.
Use reaper's.
Gaze or Tal's helm is fine.
As armor you would want to use shaft, duriels or high def runeword.

As the examples say, my merc uses eth crown of theives, eth great hauberk stone, and an eth 2 amn bonehew (poo on you zavior haha) though! I must agree, when I get an eth reapers, I will sell off my bonehew for scrap...

Duriel's Shell
Preferably upgraded.

My merc has an ethereal Duriels, great for res. + CBF.
But no way i will upgrade that baby (eth bug).
Good weapon is eth kelpies (slows great)

I noticed that alot of you suggested eth items. This is the first time I have put any effort into a merc so bear with me on what might be a silly question.
Do Merc items not lose durability? I would think that if they did "Zod'ing" all this stuff could be expensive. If they don't lose durability, I have an eth Spire of Honor that is very nice.

No silly question if you don't know the answer for sure, but as you suggested; mercs don't lose durability when using equipment. This is it, and botd just happens to contain zod :grrr: . Is a coh too bad to be mentioned? Since it has 65res, +2 all skills, 20str and even some dr and ll... not bad I'd say.
