I have heard there is a way to keep a map for the durance once you find one you like. Is this true? If so, how do I go about doing that?

Single Player.

Go on Open Bnet (etc) and join games; that will "reroll" the map. Once you find the game you like, you stay offline.

You can also make a game on another difficulty level on SP. That will also reroll the map.
No way to do it legally on bnet. Dunno if its possible illegally either. Never gotten into it.
