Meph Build Viable?

This may seem old to many people but to me its relatively new...
Is a light sorc good for meph runs? i know i am going to be staticing untill half way but after that does lightning get the job done quick and ez?
I am getting tired of the blizz sorcs and meteorb sorc builds for meph. Thx for replies.

Light sorcs can work well on meph.. his res are all the same anyways, so I don't see why not... the only thing would be that its much easier if you can tank him, because the moat trick won't quite work. If you can hold your ground though... I dont see why it wouldn't work 40k dmg never was kind to anyone.

My Old Sorc is a Chain Lightning / Lightning Sorc she was heaps of fun.

She's in retirement at the moment though and cubes stuff

just remember FAST CAST is important as, I read somewhere a 1.10 Lightning guide that says that IAS, (increased attack speed) makes lightning faster, this is not true!

Chain Lightning is good on Mephi when there are a few other ppl around, as it spams back onto him, normal lightning is good as well.

Use a Merc to help tank, and u should do fine.

Any single tree sorc is more than adequate at taking out any boss, as they all do impressive damage, when synergized

Keep in mind that lightning sucks the mana like its going out of fashion, so be sure to have lots of small mana charms with max mods, and or stone of jordans to boost mana. Magefist is also good.

Believe me u will be drinking those blues pretty fast otherwise!

In 1.09 IAS effected lightning and CL casting times... this is now fixed but! THe BP's are still different a good one to aim for is 117 FCR, this is the equivilant to the typical 105 FCR BP and will provide nice casting times and a quick tele.

Just remember to get a nice merc to handle imunes... and when playing lightning... there are ALOT of them.

117% ahh, so thats different than like the teleport break of 105% isnt it?
is it just lightning thats different? or is lightning and fireball the same?

cool, that would make it very hard to reach with a full Tal set - funny since the full tal set favours a lightning using Sorc... kinda ironic!

50% Fast cast with Tals
20% 2x fast cast rings
20% lidless
20% Magefist

thats 110%

so that would make full Tal set less than ideal for a lightning sorc!

I reckon the full tal set has the most stupid mods for a sorc, what were blizzard thinking?

I mean, it has mana and life leach 10% - but only a melee sorc can use that, then the orb doeesnt do any damage, so its worthless!!

so many mods on the full set that dont make any sense at all!

That is why a build using uniques shines above it... the only thing Tals is really good for is for building an Archmage, which the orb outshines all in! How lovely...

Yeah, yeah, it shines..... But hey... 63%fcr for which some people go, massive mana & life, quite impressive + skills (+8 with 2 sojs, while viper and stuff has +11 or so, still a difference but not like 5 against 15)... Good defense, damage to all trees, room for great stuff - two rings, shield. Well yeah... outstanding for 2-tree or 3-tree builds, a little worse for single tree ones. Currently my blizz/firewall sorc uses full tal and while I always hated that set, I like it now. I gave most of my stuff away but if I'm ever able to make a hoto, maybe I'll think of a unique-item build.
