"meaningful" 1.13 info this week

Re: "meaningful" 1.13 info this week

Me neither :) To hell with the patch, and I dont even need a reset, although if it must be done then do so immediately. I am not complaining, once again I stress I am pointing out how things really are from a business point of view, that is all I'm doing.

And Battle.net isnt free for WoW ...

WoW does not use Battle.net servers. The servers for WoW are something else (you really think they would provide laggy servers for pay to play games ?

I thought I was missing something. It wouldnt be too far fetched though if Battle.Net 2.0 requires a subscription.

And I remember there being a thread somewhere about the Blizzard executives being very crafty in their usage of words regarding the Battle.net 2.0 launch with SC2. It said something about it being free with the purchase of SC2, and yet at the same time hinted that all other products using BNet 2.0 realms might not be.

Re: "meaningful" 1.13 info this week

Hmm, that might be true. Blizzard does like to get crafty with their wording :D Unique minds make unique games so I wouldn't expect any different communication style :)

I'm not certain as to Battle.net 2.0, but I have a feeling it won't be a subscription service. I'll have to stick with Single Player if that is the case.

In all the time wasted till now with useless patches and addons, they could have fixed all the major bugs and concerns hands down, trust me. No matter the 'cost of development' as you put it yourself, in all terms of the word too. Cost of labour, cost of financial issues, cost of time, etc .... Would have been long done. Blizzard doesnt want to fix those things, though, because they are actually part of what keeps things going, what keeps the cogs in place for the machine to run.
Ofc. Actually at Blizzard every software developer has to make at least one bug a week, lest he gets fired. We all know that bugs help to sell more software.

Blizzard isn't going to fix these things because it won't pay off to fix them and they are not a charity. That simple. No need to invent any devious plan, Occam's razor ftw, you can go lol again now.

I havent been saying anything contrary to this specific part of your statement.

I wasnt talking about bugs, but major concerns like duping which they should properly fix instead of implement stupid crap like DClone (which ironically meant dupers strive to dupe more SOJs) or just run Ruststorm. I am no software genius but I do know they can find a solution to stop duping, and they definitely could have in the last 9 years. But if they really stop duping or eradicate bots, they can say goodbye to 80%+ of the players who are used to the duped economy, or are used to the convenience of bots. Get it now? This is what they should have done ages ago but its too late now, and once again the real purpose of patches at this point is not to fix duping, bugs, add content, or take ANY suggestion from any fan regardless of how 'involved' in the development process Blizzard claims to want their fans, but to relight a dying candle in the franchise. (If the whole overwinded 1.13 farce going on right now cant help you see this, I dont know what can ... guess what stash size is not going to be implemented now either :))

It's a little hype machine to keep players coming back. I'm sorry if you can't understand clever business strategy or the evils of this world are too busy being deflected off your max block shield of naivity (I'm not saying this to you specifically, but to all fanboiz who fail to realise it), but it is the way it is, son. Its the truth, c'est la vie. I wouldnt call it conspiracy or devious plan. And Occam's razor, I lol'd hard again, its for underthinkers my friend :)

It should be quite clear to anyone by now that Bashiok had no idea on the patch's actual status when he posted back in April. Even if D2 was the only game they concentrated on, there was still no way possible to get this patch in a few weeks; i.e. end of April. He either did not communicate at all with the patch team, or simply did not understand what they told him. This has been a PR disaster for them, that actually does not surprise some. They have always been a dysfunctional company that poorly manages customer relations.

Sadly, if Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has taught us anything, it is that a game company can come out with the worst game and still sell to mindless drones as long as they hype it well. Kind of wonder about D3......
