Matriarch - Raiu (ES/C-Lightning Sorc) [+18 to Lightning Tree]

My Cleaning out the Closet project continues.

[HIGHLIGHT]BACKGROUND[/HIGHLIGHT]
Origin
I had studied some diffrent builds (not on this lovely site) with ES and wanted to give it a go! Also I was a real sucker for D1 and the Mana Shield in that game was really something I can tell.
Outcome
In funnyness this was one of the more enjoyable builts I played back in those days. I however had lots of other crapier chars going on so my morale made me finnish of/or get stuck with them before this one were resumed. So she ended parked before hell.
Solution
They say Infinity works god with lightning, so I thought I´ll stick to the Chain Lightning plan and se how it will end up!
[HIGHLIGHT]SUMMARY[/HIGHLIGHT]
Normal
As said this was one of my more powerful and easy going chars, I had decent gear for her and Normal was sort of a tele-breeze
Nightmare
The first 4 ACTs where cleared out mercless and I remebered how really fun she was early on in this difficulty. I did clean up this difficulty: hunted some WPs, finnished of some quests with a merc. One of the quests I had to clear up was good old Nilly! Ot was a bit messy and those witches has some crazy magics going on! I didn´t smack on Infinity after he was down so that old chap can take some lightning on /p 8. The WSk hold glooms which where itchy!, however seperate and desecrate did well as ever. Minion waves wasn´t that hard and I think Bartucs gang post most threat. Good old Spider Demon Baal wasn´t that much of a hassle, I did mess around a lot with his clone and cursed me withh that spent mana = spent life curse but it wasn´t any prob.
Hell
ACT1 :
You got to love teleport when your last char was a goofy necro! The gameplan is position the merc with tele, let Infinity break those Immunes up and spam chain lightning. Blood raven av some random mob in Highlands where lightning Immune and didn´t break. Besides that it´s pretty much "tele & spam" I blindly teleport, a death or to makes me mader and more focust on getting forward. The Smith spawned Extra Fast Manaburn, he did dive on my merc and plumeted fast but was a nice reminder of the Butcher in D1 (he is one fast demon!) Through the Jail and one death on those Misshapend fiends. Uper cloiser and down to Andy. That girl eats Mercs for breakfast! One res and down again GG
ACT2 :
I brezeed through the Sewers before dinner and I had acually forgoten the thing about the desert and teleport! With my mana base I teleport for free, and don´t you think I take one little step I don´t have to No No. Lots of spaming Tele and Chainlightning, one nasty pack of Beetles took Merc out and I did get stuck in a horde of Monsters. Died + S&E and gave it another go... a copule of days later. Those scarbs are sure durable to lightning and do some nasty damage themselfs. At the clawviper temple I fell in love with nova and spamed it on the snakes and mummies which was pretty much that. 3 way was right @ arcane´s and no real pain there except those towers (which are easy parked) At Canyon of the Magi I started at the bottom corner to find the right tomb when I realized I had the quest left... of course it was the right tomb just because of that! Durry died easy of lightning spaming
ACT3 :
The jungle with tele is pretty much how you want it, my focus on +skills have made me not to hit 105% FCR tele breakpoint but I managed, there was some deaths and a nasty fight where me and merc was swarmed my flayers and such, I had to S&E out of that one. tele + nova is a dealdly funny thing, tele into a horde spam Nova... die or repeat. Clearing that lovely last floor maze in the flayer dungeon was real nice, I always want to tear my hair of at that place. When brain was done it was tele to stormtree and firends, they died within a couple of seconds. Here it goes I just love tele:in into bosspacks and slay them all with nova. Sure I have some deaths on me but that the thrill. I found the book in second temple and had to search basiclly the hole sewer for the heart, which is a pleasure. Council took some tele in out and regrouping , One had nasty long list of mods. In durance the urdars where very durable to lightning so I started droping som Blizzard here and there. Some doll deaths (the usual me). Meppy Guards where kind of easy killed, meppy a little trickier, some trips to town and heal up Merc.
ACT4 :
3 teleports to get two plains of despair thanx alot. I get stuff killed and fast but My suicide tactic seems to take its toll, I heared Izual but did just see him in a Flash when everything died (maybe me included) The exit was near by to the City of the Damned. Where I teleport:ed into a pack Finger Mages and that was that. Didn´t retrive corpse, restart in the morning found river exit and WP insta. River held so many mad things except Mr Smith . And this time he was not going to be pushed around. Took him 2 hits to kill my merc every resurect. Can´t recall another time he been so hard. The Chaos Sanctutary was easier than I expected, Even of Lord De Seis and his crew killed me it was the knights that was easiest part. Mr D was horrible had to change to lightning in order to kill him. Which is kind of logic since you don´t have to stand that close and it does higher damage.
ACT5 :
Foothills holds Burning Archers and other ranged attackers, every weak monster enjoying a nova is a monster this project need right now (normally Burning Archers is my Nemesis). Eldrisch and crew took me out as I sui-Tele:ed into their pack! Chainlighted myself out of that after "ESC restart in town". Beside some manaburners in Highlands the ride was nice and still all Nova, barbs easy found in their prisons and teleport is really your friend! Some hazzling before finding WP in Platue but no skandals, some more lightning durable monsters here. All started with a nice Crysta-Cave and a Cheeds! ... Happy there for a while until Frozen river full of gloams! had to mule in some better charms in order to get resists up. As I re entered no gloams Still without gloams it was real hard. Glacial Trail done in like 1 min!. And now it´s what where all been waiting for... NillyTime! First floor held monsters I couldn´t kill, lucky for me exit was found fast... second floor held tons of Zealots and healers (is this some kind a RPG) many death´s and ugly words. I let Merc handle Nilly and spammed Chainlightning into the area. Ancients way couldn´t have been sweeter, cold related rnaged attackers yummi! The anciens where tricky "Stone Skin Extra Strong Ligtning Immune" gee (Even ininfity merc has probs with that) Took some roles and merc plunges, but I´m suprised to say I did die of them. WSK1 a real sweetheart with smal kritters, WSK2 a bit harder but these caves are so small you manage!
WSK2 -> MATRIARCH :
Two Capital failures followed by a Throne full of Gloams After standing Paralyzed as merc did things I started Spaming nova at them giving swift death. @ 70 Lightning resist my poor shield provides enought to make them not madly mad. There where some moon lords down there to, they died easy of the nova. I was real worried about the minion waves. I do see now why you run this parts with a lite-sorc. It was easy with this "Lite-Sorc". Baal a bit messy and I was out of TP:s but managed... FINALLY!!!!!!
