Matriarch Marael the Vegasorc
Last Thursday she killed Hell Baal and got her mat status. Plain old good meteorb, at level 80, doing her 10k Meteor and her 500ish frozen Orb. The game was very easy with her, so that i didn't twink her all the way. And knowing how good she is supposed to be at MFing, I thought she would haldle herself well enough without best possible equipment.
Her life is in the 900s, her mana in the 700s. She equipped an Oculus with a Stoemshield, 2 SoJs, Maras, Magefist, SoE, Shako, Skulders, War Travelers, some skillers, a Gheeds and resist charms.
Her best find was a P&B skiller with +4 max damage.
Conclusions:
Static Field is teh Baal murderer, really, taking half his life has never been so fast. Fantastic also against ancients, frenzitaurs, etc.
She was a little too micromanaging to my taste. I don't like to choose which of the 4 skills better suits me every second of the game. As I said, FO was on left, and the right button alternated between meteor, fireball, teleport and static field.
Her merc was a Might Guard with default reapers/gaze/shaft material.
I found out other pretty important things:
- I don't like cookie cutters.
- Casters are not nearly as fun as melee.
- There are more than just a couple fire/cold immunes. Countess included.
- Raise fireball first, then fire mastery.
She didn't die at all. Most notable NDE was against a pack of champion frenzitaurs, which promptly massacrated my merc and chased me in a way that teleport was not fast enough to escape. Also, it was in the beginning of a level, so teleporting at random would wake up other hordes. Pretty tactical battle!
That is it, the 6th of my 7 pat/mat project. Now, as I promised, to barbs!
