Matriarch Arianrhod, Staff-wielding Tri-sorc

Congrats :)

I've done something similar... I finished 1.09 with a Leaf-wielding Inferno sorc :) I have one (slowly) working through 1.10 as well. Maybe I should go back and play her some more.

I havent signed up there yet at that place but been in the mIRC channel some weeks now just to get know some of you little better before start posting. But if you happen to come my name at IRC is Therius :thumbsup:
 
Man I feel like a big noob. I gave up on my fully twinked (twinked with crap gear, but twinked nonethelesss) Meteorb sorc this week cause I kept getting killed every 5 seconds in hell mode and everything seemed to be fire/cold immune. Thanks for putting me to shame!!! :lol: :rant:
 
Thanks, Flippy. I have yet to try my Inferno and my Blaze-sorc. My goal is to have at least one sorc using every possible skill. (Of course my CL-sorc also counts for the L-sorc and so on. - And I doubt I'll ever make a sorc with frostnova as primary skill. :scratch: )
But I dread the Inferno-sorc as I've heard it's bugged in 1.10 and is only in a very thin line. You can kill things three screens away but nothing on your screen unless it happens to be in a very thin line...
And as for Blaze, it's so far away from my usual style of playing, she hasn't made it out of A1N yet... :lol:

Marvel, I don't use MIRC at all. I only post at forums.

Barren, I play mainly sorcs (I've got six sorc-Mats in 1.09 and seven in 1.10). I would certainly not have tried this one as first sorc. ;)

Apparently, Inferno only does 28% of the listed damage or something as well. Inferno didn't seem to be much different than it did in 1.09 though. Going to do some more playing when I get off of work I think :)

You could do a frost nova sorc I guess... it would go a bit slow though :) The cold armors also really don't work as primary skills either (even with full synergies, shiver armor's damage is very very low) Although, now that I think about it, you might be able to work something with shiver armor, energy shield, and a thorns merc, but the thorns would do most of the damage.

Well, the Thorns and the Armour would cancel themselves a bit out, methinks. But well, I really never would have thought of the armours as offensive skills. ;) And I already have one weirdo-build up my sleeve, don't need a second. :lol: (But I'll make a big post about that one when I start her. - I still have four other sorcs to Mat before then, though - ranged enchantress: A3H; FO/FB-for mf: A3NM; melee-sorc: A1NM; Hydra/GS: A1N - plus one winddruid (still in A1N as well).)

Well, against my better judgement, I started a frost nova sorc yesterday. She's almost finished with act 1 Normal, so it's too soon to tell how she'll fare, but I'll keep you posted.

If nothing else, she excels at demolishing large groups of fallen :innocent:

LOL! I guess the latter is definitely a point for this skill! :p

Good luck with her - and I'm curious to hear how she'll turn out.

Where else do you intend to spend points? Just the cold-tree for synergies? Or get a secondary attack from another tree?

Well, the synergies + mastery eats most of the points. I'm getting teleport and static field of course, and I'm thinking I might put the rest of the points into regular nova to help with cold immunes. I'm also going to have an act 2 merc to help with those. (Still trying to decide between might and defiance)

Edit: I'm also not sure whether I'm going to max cold mastery either.

You do know that regular nova sucks horribly in 1.10. Even with maxed nova, maxed mastery and tons of +skills it's slow to kill in late Hell. If you want to get a (weak) secondary attack, I'd go with something that can still kill even without a lot of points spent there. Probably either FW or maybe FB.

With this sorc I'd probably go with Defiance for once as you are already freezing everything getting close to you - other than CIs.
