Lvl 40+ prayer healing vrs lvl 40+ holy bolt healing? ifra

Lvl 40+ prayer healing vrs lvl 40+ holy bolt healing?

Toying around with the idea of making a clearic for hr's duel team.

First, since prayer doesnt act like a normal synergy, will +skills effect the +healed to medit/clensing also? {i.e. lvl 40 prayer giving +80 points healed every 2 seconds?} Or is that capped at 20 / base hard skill points?


If it does work with over +skills from gear/charms, how does this compare to holy bolts use in a party?

Hb obviously heals alot more at those levels if properly made, but it can only be shot at a target thats on screen {unless one gets lucky}, whereas prayerized medit/cleansing will have a massive radious of about 36+ yards {iirc}.

Which would be better for a group tourny duel? {i.e. 4v4, the cleric supporting 3 other duelest}

Sounds like you are gonna be purely defensive, why not both? Heal them constantly with prayer then the ones who are critical, well, let's just say "medic! medic! medic!". I would try some meditation and some conc in there too and maybe some salvation. Depends on who you duel though, if mainly elementals, I would get a max res cold, fire and light and then eliminate the toughest opponent, if meleers then boost their def with defiance. Too bad necros can't heal cause they sure have party friendly curses as well.

With who i duel, necros can provide life tap, which is fairly nice.

This is going to be a pure healer yes, but still which would be more effective to invest in {i'm not sure if i want to go off and find 10 deffensive skillers, or 10 combat skillers}. The deffensive ones would be alot nicer...being that i could probably afford ones with godly modes for the price of one combat skiller...
 
Prayer's 'synergistic' abilities to cleansing and meditation don't act like synergies at all. Skill-raising raises the level of healing in prayer and, therefore, in the other two as well.

As for the build, Clerics are like the classic Wizardry characters: undead with a side of healing. Medics, as I built in ladder season one, up to L42 on ladder and L94 on non-ladder, are max prayer, cleansing, meditation, sanctuary and holy bolt. The merc uses prayer while Healix (=D) uses cleansing most of the time, meditation when anyone - including me - needs mana and sanctuary only around dangerous undead. Since meditation doesn't affect minions or mercs (no FCR or anything) and you can only holy bolt mercs and players, the use of cleansing helped my friend's necrosummons last much longer, not to mention pulling his butt out of the fire a few times getting shocked by black souls (I still remember holy bolting him going solo against normal Diablo with a Blood Crescent... necrotank =]).

Though clerics have a tendency to be offensive when necessary, given their holy bolt actually does serious damage, medics are completely defensive and, when faced with serious adversity, hide behind their merc. There are variations of medics, which may be considered a variation of clerics themselves, such as one with a thorns merc or legitimate summon ability, but they're very limited in use, and can't play solo without practically ultimate gear (Eternity), lots of practice and a little luck. With a druid/necro summoner they're great as poison lasts fractions of a second, but the one thing it shows is Sanctuary, even fully synergized, blows.

If you'd like to see how Healix works, let me know and grab a non-ladder character. He's completed as a build, barring adding L1 conversion or something, and great with kids. Just needs some defensive aura skillers.
 
could a defiance merc work well with this build to? With your character providing much of the healing capacity of the party I think a defiance merc would be a welcome addition to a party.

anyway off of the arreat summit:

Bonuses To Cleansing
Prayer: +1 Life Healed Every 2 Seconds Per Prayer level

so that would be 40 life at skill lvl 40. still 40 life every two seconds isn't anything to sneeze at and could tip the balance of a duel in your favor specially if you can land a few HB's while your at it. Although i would think that you would be a prime target for duelers to hit before anyone else sonce you are providing such a service for your party.

Here is the possible gear i will have set for him;

~10x deffensive aura gc's

I plan on maxing holy shield, defiance, holy bolt, & prayer first...not at all sure what else.

With would yield +45 to deffensive aura skills;
~+92 healing from a base level 1 {lvl 26} cleansing; 83% reduce {i opt not to max this at all, as the difference from level 26 to 45 would be 5% reduction}

~+92 healing from base level 1 {level 26} meditation; 925% mana recovery...{i'm not sure if this would be good to put points into...at 45 it has 1400% recovoery, but that would only be good in a duel if i were with a energy shield sorc}

~+112 from salvation & 137 from each resistance aura

Along with +17 to combat skills;
~lvl 37 holy bolt healing 292-600 points
~lvl 37 +865% deff bounus / +38% block rate holy shield



This set up would cost 4 skills to be maxed, with 11 pre~req {total 91, done by about 79ish}.

What else could i put points into?
