Lucky Skunk :D

So after gambling away billions of gold since 1.10 came out, and never gambling a single rare or set item, my perseverence paid off yesterday... I was gambling amulets last night, and when I ran my cursor over my seventh or eighth purchase, I was surprised to notice that ugly "set item" orangish color. It took my eyes a minute to actually comprehend the text... TAL'S! :flip:

Since I was already using Tal's belt and helm, and had the Orb in my stash, my sorcy is *very* happy... now if I could just find the armor, she'd be nice and purple :D

i refuse to believe that you've never gotten a rare.... they're still popping at about 1 every 10 for me, i thought this was standard?

very nice you lucky skunk. But please, don't put on the purple armour, it's just sooooo ugly (as is the helm)

LOL, duh, sorry, I should've said "set or unique." Oodles and oodles of rares, of course.

Congrats! You're an inspiration to me to keep on gambling :) I've gambled quite a bit without seeing a unique or set as well :( Nice gamble!! :)

Does it matter where you gamble as long as it's in Hell? Also, I'm assuming level 80 is a good point to begin?

I didn't think it mattered where you gambled, only your level. Does it matter if you are gambling in hell?

Well, I gambled the Tal's ammy in normal Act 1, while perming a muling game. Your character's level is all that influences gambling... that, and how much patience you have.

And Cooner, yes, I know, I know, Tal's armor is butt ugly... therefore, SUMBUDY GIB PLZ! :D

Orange? Crafts are orange, unless that is some mh feature? I've gotten both unique and set from gamble, unique was a ring and set was an amu... and they both sucked :C

my lvl 4 sorc gambled a gul dagger yesterday. was the first unique I have gotten out of bazilions of gold too. but it was nice. :)

ROFLMAO... no, no hacks here, but thanks for pointing out to the entire forum just how bad my *color blindness* is! Seriously... when I go to the eye doctor and they do that color vision test, the nurse generally laughs at me. I can't tell purple from blue half the time, or green from brown, and when I'm tipsy, pink = gray.

Sooooo.... um, what the heck color are set items, then, anyway? Since apparently they ain't orange ;)

I should add that I *do* luckily see crafted items as orange... I just thought that set items were a little *less* orange. Lol!

Also, I don't know how many people here are old enough to remember the old (and awesome!) PC game "Starflight." Well, the copy protection scheme was a map of the game universe with multi-colored stars... every so often, you'd be stopped by a patrol ship, who would ask you "How many green stars are in quadrant 4?" or something like that. If you answered incorrectly, the game shut down. Which was really bad, in my case.... but luckily, it was such a common problem that their customer service mailed me a special numeric map just for the colorblind :D

Nice find Skunk! I'm in the same boat as you and have never gotten unique or set from gambling. And sets are green. =P

I have never gambled a set item, but I did gamble a goldwrap very early in 1.10 when I was trying to get a life/fhr/resist belt.

At the time, it was the best item I had... Of course, that was 2 days into 1.10.

Hmm I do remember a separate patch (or modification in a regular upgrade) for another blizz game Starcraft that had some colorblind help. Don't remember what it did exactly and not even sure if it was SC... ;) Maybe there is one for D2 too, or maybe that doesn't matter since you do see them as different color and probably don't mix them up. And yes they are green. :)

Hmm... Skunk sees things differently
As for Tal's armor, I think you have got one on your assasin, right? BTW, that armor looks really cool on an assasin---100 times better than on a sorc.

Never seen one on a sin... Picture please ;)
So, if you see colors differently, do you get all excited when people say (for example) Ohh! a white shako! ;) Hehehehe

Hey, don't knock the tal's sorc look...I mean they get to GLOW.
It's just that silly newbs have popularized the cap+purple armor look =(

Give me an ugly looking purple necro with an acorn on his head any day.
Ugly looking chars with max resists > pretty looking chars any day in hcl.
(450% mf is also nice bonus)

Alas, Shadoway, the assy who had the Tal's armor died a month or two ago, while doing some solo MF runs... But yeah, she looked good, eh?

Actually, the colors in D2 are differentiated enough that I can tell them apart... luckily! Though I did think Tal's armor was blue...

But since sets are apparently a yellowish-green, and I thought they were orangish, well, you can see how bad it is! :D Needless to say, in RL, I let my wife do my clothes shopping, and wear lots of black ;)
