Kicker/Bow Hybrid?

i was bored of my usual characters one day and decided to think of one

Skills:
Max Dtalon
Max Venom
Max Mind Blast
Max Shadow Master
1 point into dflight
1 point into WoF
1 point into LS
all spares go to weapon block

Stats:
STR-enough for 208 with gear on
DEX-enough for max block
VIT-everything else here
NRG-none

Equipment:
WPN: Widowmaker (shael'ed)
WPN Swap: CTA/lidless
Helm: CoA (cham'ed and um'ed)
Armor: BP Enigma
Ammy: +2shadowskills/10fcr/reisist
Rings: 2 x modded fcr rings (rmods are reisist and life/mana)
Belt: Arachnids
Gloves: Trangs
Boots: rare myrimdion greaves (has +stats and reisist)

Stashed Stuff:
doom zerker/poison facet SS (for those melee duels)
um'ed wizzy/poison facet SS (for those casters i must chase and stun quickly)
chaos/jade talon (might use this if i ever need some block and extra reisist vs a caster)
angelic ammy and rings (gotta love them melee duels)

Charms:
8 x shadows (with life if i can afford any >.< like that) / 2 x 12 fhr shadows to hit the 48% fhr bp
9 small charms of vita
1 annihilus

Here goes my basic strategy vs casters
1. Find a safe area and place traps
2. Use your automap to locate the caster then spam guided arrows
3. They'll teleport to your area now
4. Mind blast the little mofo
5. Kick that stunned caster!

So anyone think this character would work? only problem i see with it right now is no open wounds in bow mode

You could always BO yourself, then hold the CTA in your stash giving you Bow + melee/caster switches. Also, Death's Web is a good choice to use since most people don't stack 50+ resists. If you switch before the arrow hits, then the -resists will work on the target.

Not many people have tried it. Your best bet is to experiment. Any advice you get will probably be theoretical. Grab a bow and start kicking. See what happens.

I think you'll have trouble toggling so many skills and an active weapon switch (i.e not just a BO on CTA) that you will get bogged down with hot keys.

You have to shift-click to spam GA
You have to have GA on hotkey
traps on hotkey
MB on hotkey
Talon on hotkey (or just assign left if GA can go on the right mouse button)
Flight/teleport on hotkey

I could see using GA to lure casters to you, nice Idea.

But your traps seem to be underpowered, and a good caster will realize that quickly and figure something is up! so I would keep a wand with LR charges for the Switch. I think that with seeing the traps shoot and being poison green, the LR graphics would be more likely to make opponets flinch. But that is comming from a mental, not necessarly a pure damage point of view.

Finishing with a DF and kicks is just great from an artistic point of view. Remember, we can all kill, but only the good kill with style!

Talk to Wizadept in the Battle.net forums. He has a bow/kick hybrid and taught me almost everything I learned about kickers (aside from the few things I picked up from jRichard and other FAQ's).

f9: teleport
f10: battle orders
f11: battle command
f12: cloak of shadows
and dtalon would be left click

Wow, there's nothing natural about that hotkey arrangement at all.

Hotkeys, and the efficient useage of, are one of the big differences between elite assassin duelers and everyone else.

For my kicker I have this:

"S" - mindblast
"D" - wake of fire

I keep my middle finger on "S" and my index on "D". This allows me to toggle quickly between them to lock up opponents.

"W" - teleport (toggled by middle finger moving from "S")
"F" - dragon flight (toggled by index finger moving from "D" to "F")

So my two big movement skills are instantly accessed from my main stunlock skills.

I have the left skill always set to dragon talon, it doesn't change.

"A" - shadow master (toggled by whatever you call the finger between the pinky and the middle)

So I have quick recast of SM, to always have the potential of minion stacking, diversion of homing attacks and confusion.

"G" - cloak of shadows (toggled by index reaching over "F")

Cloak isn't a "critial" hotkey so it's not in the main area.

"T" - weapon switch
Z, X, C, V - battle command, battle orders, fade, venom

I keep BoS on F4 so I don't accidently cast it without being aware, as I'm sometimes known to do if it's close to fade.
