Items disappeared

So I've got my full ES sorc (thanks renegademaster for his guide on making ES work) to lvl 70 and I am doing some full nightmare runs...
I did my first run... ancient kaa, tresh socket, pindleskin, nihlatak, summoner, countess, all act bosses, trist, bone ash, shenk, eldritch, eyeback and travi (considering adding bishibosh and raven).

because of my lack of space I kept leaving all my uniques and sets in act 1...
well, I check that every single one of them is there before I leave for muling and I come back and find that dark clan crusher and tearhaunch disappeared (and it was just a few seconds with switching chars), now that was strange, but that is not the main issue here (those could have disappeared because I left them in town for a long time).

So I get every single item with my mule (including a isenharts sword that I dropped with tearhaunch and darkclan, damn that set to hell) and switch to my runner and go do next night run (these are all private) so I do it happily and although partially disappointed by drops in second game I got myself a viper (which I really needed to use as armor), and then I check every item, pick them up and drop them again then come back with my mule.

Now this is where I got trashed: I come back and find that my mules are empty, every single item that I put on them disappeared, I lost the ward, jalals, 2 unique armors, serpent lord and a sigons (helm I think), I know that to you people is probably not much but to me that was the beggining of my wealth...dia even droped 4 uniques... )=

Also would like to say that every single piece of equip that my sorc has is self-found (it is lacking gear even =P)


So my question is: what the hell happened? why did they disappear? the games werent even laggy... (still I bet its b.net fault)

Sounds about right mike, i had it happen once and i lost a lot of great items but thanks to some nice people on here. I got some even more awesome items yay.
sorry man just be glad they didn't kill off all your chars and be uber *** like that.

But for one to enter my acc, dont I need to leave first? (because the mule was in same acc) also only the items that I muled disappeared (sorry If I confused you with my previous sentence). I mean, I doubt they would take all of those (even isenharts) and not take, let us say, gris armor or 29 res base pala spirit shield.

Sounds like the game lagged at just the right time as you were leaving to "forget" that you picked everything up, and poof... all gone.

I know you said the game wasn't lagging, but you really can't tell these subtle things all the time. There are so many things that can go wrong between your computer and the server.

The game didn't save properly after you picked everything up. People refer to that as a roll-back.

sorry to hear about that ...i have been playing on and off since 2001 and i had the same thing happen to me recently for the first time ever ... picked up items from ground left game came back in later and they were gone off my mule...it was good stuff and self found ... i would be glad to help u with some items if you need or want ...mastersx or mastersx2

@ Hp_sauce & ZappaFan: eh, that was probably it, but then I must say that his is the most timed rollback I've ever seen, there was no delay in picking up items, nor moving them in stash. (which I believe it would be normal, considering there was a rollback)

@ XmastermineX: no thanks, I believe I will be able to get more wealth out of my next runs, also, I need to input my location, im actually playing in europe, so I wouldnt be able to meet with ya or darkfear. >_<

It's always a gamble when you drop items on the ground.
The safest and slowest way to mule important things is to pass them to another character through the trade window.
I'm sure there's some good people in op gauss that would help you do such a thing, if needed.

@ MYK, thx for the offer/idea, I've actually been thinking of doing that but not much time and I am lazy, maybe after patch =P

This 'roll-back' thing happened to me too yesterday. Lost a fortitude, andy and perfect eth Obedience. 5h1t happens.
