Is USEast connection down?

Is the USEast realm down? For some reason whenever I try to log on it says "Unable to connect to battle.net" It gave me that error message all yesterday and I thought it would be fixed today but it gave me the same message. Anyone know what's wrong?
 
US East is completely screwed right now. Yes, it is still up, but I'm sure there are a number of players that are having difficulty connecting. General consensus (from just the people I play with/talk to) is that dupers are going crazy because of xmas, and colleges/universities are getting out. It's causing massive lag for many servers. It's not completely out of the scope of possibilities that it's so bad that, in some areas of the country, people simply cannot connect at all.

Little side note. I know you're frustrated, but sometimes it takes quite a while for someone to come along that can answer your question. These are forums, not open telephone lines. Twenty minutes is actually not a bad wait for an answer to a question, especially considering it's the morning and most people are either sleeping or at work/school. :p


EDIT: You need to calm down. I was posting my response as you were making your third reply. If you continue to act this way people won't reply to you, regardless of how urgent you need an answer.
 
Will it be fixed anytime today or this week? I cannot connect at all, on both of my computers, but I can connect on USWest, so I don't think it's my connection.
 
I honestly don't know what is causing your problem. Like I said, it could very well be that everyone in your area of the country can't connect. If someone more tech savvy comes along they may be able to assist you in checking your personal connection, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.

However, like we both said, I don't think it is a problem with your connection. It is likely simply US East experiencing problems. Also, I just checked, and I'm able to get on. If it keeps up into the afternoon I'd suggest trying to re-install D2. In my opinion reinstalling is always a long-shot, but it doesn't hurt to eliminate the possibility that something got screwed up on your end.

Beyond that, all you can really do is wait and hope the problem gets fixed on its own. You could always try e-mailing Blizzard, but that tends to be met with a sup-par response. :p
