Is this build viable

So I was feeling pretty bored so I decided I'd give a crack at building a melee necro build I never done before or even looked at another build and just wondering if it will work?

Any issues this build would have?

Why kingslayer? Why max curses, which usually are enough with +skills? Why an act 3 merc? And why focus on his damage? Act 3 merc damage doesn't go far at all.

Kingslayer for -25% targets def or whatever CB and Vengence which I calc will be at a level where its 100% additional from each element.

Maxing the curses mostly for the radius and or duration and cold merc was hoping his cold duration clay golem's slow decrepifies slow would all stack to cripple a boss.

If you're going for Kingslayer's Vengeance and an Iron Wolf, wouldn't Lower Resist be a more sensible curse to use?

Never thought about it was more concerned about the physical damage with amp and then decrep is for bosses.

Might be able to swing by with one point in amp and then use dim vision and decrept for two curses I could then put the extra points in bone prision for the armor synergy.

A hf merc would be alot more efficient. He would slow enemies in a big area, also slow cold immunes and deal alot more damage.

You could use a fleshripper and then max poison dagger for the ar bonus and some help vs immunes. The weapon is the only spot for getting weapon damage (except min/max damage, which isn't that efficient) so for a weapon, the weapon damage should be your biggest concern.

Is Kingslayer bad to begin with the enhanced damage vengence for bonus damage wouldn't that work?

to answer your question as succently as possible: no, a necromancer built around vengance damage is not all that viable.

vengance relies on a massive amount of on weapon damage, a massive ammount of -enemy resists, and a massive amount of IAS. This build offers none of those things.

If you switch to a 2-hander Vengeance damage will become a lot more tolerable.

It depends on what you think viable means, but a PB is a poor base for Kingslayer. You want high weapon damage, and your main curse would have to be Lower Resist. You'd need a lot of ias, so you'd probably have to wear Treachery, which isn't necessarily bad, but it does limit your options.

Weapon: Kingslayer (Phase Blade) -why? i think beast would be much better for this, would give you the bear form too for extra stats
Shield: Homunculus -ok, second spirit works too, stormshield would do wonders!
Alt Weapon: CTA -basic
Alt Shield: Spirit -basic, lidless wall if cant afford really.
Helm: Crown Of Ages (Cham UM) -It's good choice, shako works too
Armor: chains Of Honor (Archon Plate) -*Sigh*, one word, E-N-I-G-M-A
Gloves: Soul Drainers -draculs, anyone?
Belt: Arachnid Mesh -i would say string of ears or verdungo would do better in terms of -dmg%
Boots: Gore Riders -seems fine
Amulet: Angelic Wings -gah just get a highlords here
Ring: Angelic Halo -Another bulcathos works wonders.
Ring: Bul Kathos Wedding Ring

Merc Act 3 Cold - I dont think this is viable, just go with the act 2 merc with insight/pride + forti + andy/tal helm
