Is there any point to waiting around..

In a solo hell game the SOJ counter popped up saying something like 7643 SOJs have been sold. Then nothing for quite a while, like maybe 1/2 an hour.
Is there any point to waiting in that game to see if Diablo Clone is going to walk?

If all you've seen is one soj sold then no. Probably someone just checking the counter on that server.

Forgive my noobish question, but how would someone do that?

Would they just sell an SOJ to see where the counter is?
