Re: Instead of complaining

If they didn't listen the first time round, why would they now? Patch is done, just needs testing. They are not going to stop and add in any features requested that were ignored.

i will bump this thread every time they update the patch on the PTR:devil:

Re: Instead of complaining

I have a better idea. Instead of complaining...
...complain some more. Really, that's all there is to do at this point. :coffee: They had their chance and they blew it - 8 months for changes that any fan with modding ability could do in a matter of days? Yeah, damn right I've got something to complain about... :pancake: :wine: :propeller: :grouphug:

Re: Instead of complaining

Funny isn't it, they never promised anything yet everyone assumed there would be this and that.

It's simply that your expectations were too high and they weren't met by this patch. You know what? Tough break, go cry in a corner and stop playing because the new patch sux. Hammerdins got nerfed (about half of the community was complaining about it, the other half are/were fanatic hammerdins). They stopped a method of duping, now I don't know how many duping methods there are, but they are showing good will. These are just a few good examples from this patch.

And what is this I hear so many people complaining that these new things we got won't bring more people (back) to the game. Who ever said that was the plan behind this patch? Personally I see this patch as a matter of good will by Blizzard, and a darn good one at that, to the faithfull supporters of the game and in a sense Blizzard. Which company can you point out still supports a game after this long (10 years is it?)? Please give me one and we'll talk again.

The problem is you all expected too much from this patch. That is exactly why Blizzard didn't give out any details as to what they were planning, they didn't want to raise expectations. So please keep crying and complaining so I can pitty you more.

Re: Instead of complaining

pitty me all you want, blizzard is a billionare and us diablo vets deserve a decent ****ing update until diablo 3. not some loose change and a spit in the face.

Simple question, why? Because you bought the game? What makes you so special that they have to make a patch at all? And don't tell me "Because we are waiting for Diablo3", please.

they don't have to, but they can, and it wouldn't make a significant change in their pockets, why do you want to argue? i'm leaving now.

Re: Instead of complaining

I think there is some value in keeping their existing customers happy who, I'm sure they expect, will be the first the buy diablo 3 and take it to the top of the charts within its first week (very important). Of course patching a game 10 years after release is comendable and more developers should do it. Far too many release and run. But they have 1 maybe 2 guys working on the patch, it really isn't a huge investment on their part and the payoff far outweighs it. Continued loyalty, keeps gamers in the Blizzard fold and it's excellent PR. I don't think anyone should be feeling particularly humbled by the patch, it's just a matter of common sense on Blizzard's part to make that tiny investment.

That said, I think people should give it a chance, get on the PTR and give it some decent play time and share your considered opinion, their effort deserves that much.

Re: Instead of complaining

To answer the question at the start of the thread, the one thing that I'm looking for in a new patch is more options; more viable characters. There are so many skills in the game that no-one uses but that with a little buffing would do great. No need to make them overpowered, just enough so that they get the job done.

They include:
Necro: Teeth, Poison Dagger, Mages, Blood Golem
Paladin: Holy Fire
Assassin: All MA skills, Fire traps, blade shield
Barb: Throwing, Leap Attack
Druid: Fire skills, Rabies
Amazon: Fire bow skills, physical dmg spear/javalin skills
Sorceress: Hydra, Frost Nova, Thunderstorm

Other changes I would appreciate a lot:
- Stop duping and reduce spam
- Add Trade & PVP 'difficulty' levels separate from Hell (so if you're looking for a Hell game you don't have to search through 90% trade posts.
- One-time respec (we got that - great).

Hmm, I took another look through the battle.net forums and it seems like they cleaned alot up, but I could have sworn Blizzard had stated many times that this was going to be a content patch, and they asked for alot of ideas from the community on what they wanted to be included. To then turn around and implement one thing (respecs), with a few minor skill changes, color changes and for some bizarre reason two new barbarian names (??) is abit odd. They also copy/pasted the text from patch 1.11 log for the "world event".

As a result, I can understand some peoples frustration. I suspect they probably left some things out for the actual release, who knows.

With regards to what changes I would like to have seen/still see, I hope more skills get rebalanced, specifically the amazon spear skills, assassin martial arts and the fire skills for the druid.
