That Loz was found in the agony booth makes me think he was the regular NK- I think the booth is linked to the mafia somehow- tho I may be completely wrong and reading too much into the story.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Ok it seems a little too convenient that Loz is dead and now Ankeli is talking like him.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Ivan's last post when deciphered (the last long one that is), says "cm onlne" unless I totally botched the translation. I ran it twice so I don't THINK I did.

That was following his "n reset" post.

I'm sure he wants to be lynched, but I don't know what "cm onlne" means. Something online? Does it mean he will "come online" finally and be operational?

Maybe he'll become a helpful force and be able to speak again. Maybe he can tell us something about what's going on. Or maybe he'll turn into a town killer. Maybe he'll just die.

Anyone else have thoughts on it?

I also thought Ankeli said that anyone trying to nk him would instead be killed? I'll have to go back and read what he said. I probably am remembering wrong.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Never mind the last part of the above post, I misread who died. No more skimming to the end for me.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Flurry of questions!

Ankeli said:
Acaktted lsat nhigt. Ruloman lgoo vsiilbe. Wonrg aoubt mraa, ssucept Arrisn.

Vote: Asrrin

So you’re saying you were attacked but survived? Why do you say were wrong about Mara? You suspect Asrrin is a Romulan that attacked you?

Why didn’t you switch you vote to me as you promised, basically making me look guilty by association?

Noammr said:
… binary …

Could be a vigi or SK, players have taken matters into their own hands in the past when I aggressively go after someone.

Yesterday you said either my or Mara’s lynch would be good, you voted for Mara eventhough I had 1 more vote at the time. What made you choose him over me, and why didn’t you switch you vote to me to try to prevent the No Lynch?

Asrrin said:
So I have to say, seeing marahumm dead is not that big of a surprise. Who wanted him dead the most? Ankeli. I'm guessing a serial killer role or being romulan/klingon scum.

Vote: Ankeli

Also, the airlock thing is kind of weird too, but I will also vote ankeli on this, just in case someone wants to try and lynch someone else.

Airlock vote: Ankeli

There is also the Borg faction, but they could be restricted solely to just recruitment.

I’m surprised you switched gears and now go after Ankeli. Didn’t you think I wanted Mara dead too? Or you just retaliating on Ankeli’s post?

You voted to kill Ankeli twice, you really have a bone to pick with him?

Asrrin said:
He's trying to blame me because he knows he's the one who killed mara, and he was pushing for me last time. Notice how he's also claiming to be silenced as well to cover it up. Just going down his list of people to kill off during the day, to make it easier for him at night.

He was naming you suspicious because of you playstyle, he was pushing Mara more than you.

FYI, in the games I’ve played, I haven’t seen a silence faker. Until we see a second silenced individual, I’m inclined to believe Ankeli is actually silenced.

ITY said:
Mara's kill by another role? Vigi or SK - I think it's a bit to early for a vigi and lets face it we had no info yesterday- we couldn't even get a lynch! So yes looking like there is a SK in this game.

How is it too early for a vigi?

What do you guys think of the dual nks? I'm thinking Mara's may be a vigi or sk kill going by the story (likely to be the later).

Laarz said:
I dont know noammr, why do you think Loz was killed?
Laarz said:
I should have checked first sorry for the repeat
Laarz said:

Is that a Freudian slip I’m eyeballing? It’s unusual that you ask Noammr about the Mara NK directly, when I thought it was more of a general question to everyone else?

Explain.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

How is it too early for a vigi
.

Wouldn't the vigi wait until they have got some kind of suspision and not just kill at random on a day 1 with no NK and no lynch?

I may just be guessing but to kill a random person on night 1 will not help us as he/she could have equal chance of hitting a townie.

If Mara/loz were acting suspisiously I could understand it, but why an apparently random kill- smells of SK to me.

You didn't push on Mara as hard as Ankeli did, and I was equally suspicious of the both of you to begin with. I voted for you one because there were already votes on you, and two because even ankeli had voted for you. Now though, Mara is dead, and with 8 people voting for you, I think you would have not been stupid enough to night kill the one who accused you of being scummy in the first place. In fact, I think Ankeli is playing everyone to serve his own ends.

This is why I voted for him. If it comes right down to it though, I'll gladly lock you like I tried to last day phase, but Ankeli has proven himself to be the most likely scum for today.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

@Zhao_Yue First of all I dont wear slips .
1. I dont see where I ask Noammr about Mara, I asked him about Loz.
2. I posted the ascii conversion of noammr post without checking if someone else had already done it.
3.I think Mara was the NK and Loz was done by another faction, that was directed at I_Told _You .

quote Noammr
Zhao:
I was absent for the last several hours of the day, during which you got most of your votes. I actually got online about 5 minutes too late thinking the day was one hour longer.
I really didn't have much of a preference between you or Mara for a lynch (it was mostly information driven from my pov), mainly I decided to go with Mara's lynch simply because last time (two games ago) I did the opposite and got it totally wrong :p.

A question for you, ZY;
Do you think we should comply with Ivan's requests to lynch him today?

Laarz;
Good question, who knows.
Maybe they figured a heavy post restriction like he had might come along with some nifty powers.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Well this is disappointing.

Nothing has changed since yesterday. We need navigation fixed. If we had navigation we might not be stuck here with a collection of dead crew members.

Let's get navigation sorted so we can get out of here. I don't want to spend another night parked here and wake up to two more dead crew.

Vote: Krazeyivan

For mutiny, starting a fight with a crew member later found dead and far too many quotations, I sentance you to death.

To Zhao...I think I may be a bit paranoid but I don't trust the sudden switch in Ankeli's pattern. He also seems to be hiding out and I don't like how that looks. I am also uneasy with Krazy's relentless random numbers. It still seems to be hard to swallow that lynching will fix him, but I can be persuaded...

Ok Zarni after reading your posts I think I can safely vote

Vote: Krazeyivan

Airlock I'm not so sure...

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Indeed Ivan`s lack of speech is frustrating and it does not lead us anything. Sure, there is a chance that he might get fixed due to some other event, but for now we only have the lynching solution.

Ivan, we are going to lynch you in the hopes that that will fix you. If you have any objections on that post something. If this is the right course, do not post anything until the issue is resolved.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

I went through and re-read the entire thread (yes, I'm a moron with too much time on my hands). For the most part, people have been pretty consistent and I didn't see a ton of really suspicious behavior except in one case - Ankeli. I'm not sure of anything, however. And I'd like to hear others takes before the deadline. But, if a gun was put to my head and I was forced to choose, he's the one that makes me the most uneasy with how unpredictable he's been. Again, to reiterate, there's not enough to KNOW on anyone. But, he's the only one making my trouble bump really itch.

There's a chance I won't be home at a reasonable hour tomorrow and I MIGHT have to leave early. So I'll put my votes in now. I reserve the right to change them if you all have compelling arguments about dangerous players. Right now, all I have are hunches/suspicion. I'll put Ivan in the lynch vote as he appears to have several already and his situation is the most compelling thing going on at the moment.

Vote: Krazeyivan

Airlock vote: Ankeli

Hopefully, I will be able to miss my engagement tomorrow and see what everyone else thinks and obsessively follow this thread. I don't know who invented this game, but it's pure genius.

Re: In A Mirror Darkly - Star Trek Mafia Forum Game Thread

Update, I've been reading the link from Leopold about Mafia game roles.

What if Ivan is a Jester? http://mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Jester

Are there typically jesters in the forum games here? That would suck to have a winner on day 2 (or is it 3?). If jesters don't really play a role here, then never mind. I have to admit it would be a VERY unsatisfying game result.

Vote: Krazeyivan

It seems that I didn't have time to send in a vote after deciding to lynch Krazeyivan in a (probably) desperate bid at "fixing" him, so I shall vote now, and hope it isn't locked to soon (9 to lock, correct? Or 10?).

I have no feelings towards the airlock vote yet - I'm both surprised and confused by it. A double "lynch" today? Gorny's way of trying to make the game faster? Could there be a radioactive role in this game (similar to the radioactive neighbour)? Just a random addition, based on where the warp drive took us?

Only person who's really stood out so far, as noted before, is Ankeli.

Aslo, I wluod liek to pinot out taht tihs is not ralely a risrteciotn. This is because the human mind reads the word as a whole, not as individual letters. Either this is a rather devious play by Ankeli, or a failure to come up with a better restriction by the restrictor, or Gorny.

Ankeli said:

Attacked last night, Romulan logo visible. Wrong about Mara, suspect Asrrin.

The two night kills definately look like a regular night kill and something else( by the story.) If Loz was the regular kill then any ideas why choose him?- he was silenced yesterday and said he would continue to be so.

Could his restriction possibly have been death? This would be assuming, of course, that Mara was the night kill, and not Loz.

Ok it seems a little too convenient that Loz is dead and now Ankeli is talking like him.

I don't think Ankeli is talking anything like Loz at all. Loz seemed to have to communicate with symbols in parts of the words, while Ankeli just has to scramble the insides of the words, which, as pointed out earlier, isn't much of a restriction.

Ivan's last post when deciphered (the last long one that is), says "cm onlne" unless I totally botched the translation. I ran it twice so I don't THINK I did.

That was following his "n reset" post.

"Come online and reset."

As best I can make out from your translation. Mind sharing how you came about it? Perhaps if we lynch him, he'll live, begin to function properly, and his role will reset (perhaps from mafia to town?).

It's quite possible he's a Jester of some sort. The question here is - if he IS in fact a Jester, is he an even jester? Is he an odd jester? Is he just a regular jester?

Also, as far as I know, a Jester wins the game with whatever faction wins, as long as they meet the lynch requirements. So that means that a Jester (they're town aligned, I believe), could win alongside the mafia. I'm not completely sure about this, but as far as I can tell, this makes sense.

Yay for my first long post of the game :o.
