ilvl of jewels for crafting

does the ilvl of the jewel make a difference when crafting? and, the ilvl of the amulet has to be 90+ in order to get +2 skills right?

what would a ilvl 90+ amulet and a ilvl 25 jewel do for a lvl 91 character? would it still get +2 skills? so basically... what does the jewel do

The jewel's ilvl is irrelevant. What matters is the amulet's ilvl and the character level. (clvl / 2) + (amulet ilvl / 2) = crafted amulet ilvl. The final ilvl has to be 90 or higher for +2 skills, so if the character you're crafting with is level 91 (91 / 2 = 45, always round down), the crafting amulet needs to be ilvl 90 or higher.

That's right, the ilvl of the crafting amulet will determine which affixes can spawn on it.

so, another question... this time about cubing rings.
aparently the formula for cubing three rings is based solely on character level. clvl*.75 so even a level 99 guy cubing 3 rings dropped by baal would just get an amulet with ilvl 74?

I thought it was capped at a pretty low affix level (~30), but Arreat Summit says what you did.

I just tested it with a level95 character and got a level71 item in result. The ring levels don't matter - only the character level.
