I messed up a runeword, but I don't know why

What did I do wrong? Why isn't this a White runeword staff now? I 100% definitely put the Dol in first.

Runewords only work in normal socketed items. Normal items are white (grey with sockets). You tried to make it in a Magical (blue) item that had sockets.

Can white/grey wands have +skills on them? The advice I've found online says to keep resetting Drognan (running out of town then back in), but all I see him with are blue wands (Act 2, Nightmare). I guess I'm doing this wrong?

Yes you can find white/grey wands with +skills to specific skills. Try shopping drognan in act 2 Normal, not NM.

Just make sure the wand you buy has its name in white and not blue. That is the relevant part.
