I haven't seen an SOJ countdown for dclone in a LONG time...

I just realized I haven't been in a game with an SOJ countdown for Dclone in, like, over a month. Is it just me?

It is not just you.The number of duped sojs used for WE is steadily decreasing.I haven't seen DC this ladder season. The price of anni last season was very low now crappy one goes for about 4 ist on ladder.

But Blizzard could just change the condition required to spawn Ãœberdiablo. Let's see... not so many dupped SOJ's, but plenty of duped runes... Imagine this:

1028 Zod Runes sold to merchants

I always thought the countdown was arbitrary. It wasn't REALLY a function of people selling SOJs, especially on the ladder. SOJs are really worth something on the USWest ladder, I can't imagine ANYONE selling them or even dupers making them just to trigger DClone. It was my understanding that the countdown SAID SOJs were sold, but it wasn't really dependent on actual SOJ selling. I mean, the SOJ countdown was active on ladder 1 right from the beginning. I can't imagine dupers were making SOJs by the tens of thousands (literally) on the ladder within days.

It doesn't matter if sojs are sold on ladder or non-ladder.WE is triggered on both.Only the server matters. And I have been hunting for long enough to know that it is exactly sojs sold that determine WE.

It also takes around 80-120 on average, which there are many different opinions on how many it really takes so spawn him. So let say you had a game where he just spawned and you kill him, also you know the server ip that you were on (easly obtained from a dos promt) then you have lets be safe and say you have 140 sojs. You then create a new game on that same server ip and started selling sojs to act1 npcs, somewhere between 80 and 120 to 140 he should spawn again.
It really does go by the amount of sojs sold, that is the main reason that you see the large amout of sojs on ebay, they know that the dc hunters will buy them.

Im going to put on my camaflouge and start hunting again as soon as my new comuter get going. Look out ebay I am looking to waste some money, LOL

Also, it's much harder to find a game with the correct IP even if you know which IP to look for because of Blizzard's anti-botting/muling "upgrade" that gives you a 5-minute realm down if you join and quit too many games too quickly.

Before, as long as you had a 10-second delay on the game, you could search for the correct IP forever. Now, you get r/d after about 5 or so games if they're under something like 1-5 minutes each.

So, I guess it's not more "difficult," just more time consuming.

Well, most of the big anni traders are busy (like me trying to get my lvl 99) or playing WoW now so there are much fewer walks. I had a big feeling this would happen at some point so I started saving up my annis (like 50+ or so). Look for my anni thread on the bnet USWest trade forums sometime.

I found dclone weeks ago and finally got my FIRST anni on useast nl :xsmile4:

well I'm not really sure how he is triggered nor selling sojs really is the magic, but can we sell then buy,,,sell then buy for thousands of times to trigger him?

DClone just paid me a visit on the USEast ladder last week, first time I've seen him since I've come back to the game. :xsmile3:

If you are refering to selling an soj and then buying it back, try it sometime,, lol it dont work. If that was the case then the anni would have no value since there would be a million extras floating around. believe me the only way to get him to visit you is to join a game where the counter is running and hope that the people that are selling the sojs dont quit short of him popping. Or you can trade for sojs on NL and sell them yourself if you have 2 cd keys and or 2 computer with d2lod on them. Then you can get ladder anni and NL anni. But I dont think anyone is crazy enough to sell ladder sojs.

at the beginning of the first ladder season blizz let the counters run on a time interval iirc.
i did remember seeing a counter almost every game i entered
maybe to give the ppl a bit of a hint (they wanted the soj to be sold)
after a week or so the soj count stopped (until everybody found out the server thingy)

ahh man the first few days of 1.10 were fun weren't they? I once had DC spawn in 2 consecutive games! I think the greatest part was that we hadnt figured out how to easily take him apart yet, so it was this titanic 20 minute battle to kill the big freak. i remember the first time i did it with my old 09 frenzy barb and my friend's whirler (we were lucky i had let him use my old ccb of vileness!). eventually we figured out how to butcher him horribly (my hammerdin could pull off 45 second clone kills), but those 20 minute battle royales were still more fun!

yea, i still remember my first fights with him
a javazon using cs ^^

took me 20 minutes but i wanted to do it solo :D

Update: The clone did walk in a game tonight, but it was really late, about 2:15 AM. I started seeing counters around 9ish, and they were fairly steady.

what's alliance?

some kind of agreement on making dc spawn on a certain moment?

well yeah sorta

the alliance is from a site that we cant mention on here,

but you pay to get the server ip that they are going to pop, cost 8 NL sojs, i know several pepole on this forum that are part of that forum, wheither or not they par take in the alliance I do not know. But the 8NL sojs goes towards popping the server. it is kept just between the people in the alliance for that night until like 15 mins prior to popping then they release it to the public to try and get a server. Mind you it isn't that easy if you try to free load on the alliance, that 15 mins to find one isn't always 15 mins, LOL for those of you who know Michael. But if you pay to get the ip you have from the time you pay until the time they pop it to find the right ip.

About a month or so ago the soj counters were all off a little, so the alliance people went around just popping various ips to get the counters started over, that is why there were so many soj counters going off for a while.

So that is the jest of it, if you have other questions about the alliance well you will have to find the website since it cannot be mentioned here, I will say this it is not some sort of hacker site, they are just strickly dc hunters, just organized. LOL

I lucked out and I was in that server last night as well when dclone walked. I let my friend beat him, I've soloed him before, my friend has never even faced him.
