You know, I am pretty sure he would´ve had a better damage output with the much faster Halberd.

Average damage for a perfect (80%) Savage Lochaber Axe of Fire: ~60
Attacks per second: 2.7

Average damage for a 77% Savage Halberd of Swiftness: 50
Attacks per second: 3.5


And if you have an elemental damage circlet or damage-boosting jewels in sockets, the difference is even bigger.

Smurfette just reached level 18 and finally has some crowd control with charged strike. The game just became much easier :) She has just reached level three of the Maggot Lair. Total score: 7*2 + 14 - 18 = 10 points :clap:

Near death experiences? Oh yeah, getting cornered by the Countess' minions in the tower ruins and empting my belt made me think I've earned the green breastplate. Only because I leveled with a tiny sliver of red-ball left did I survive.

Notable events? My first unique in HC, the always welcome fictional pron star. Radiment was hanging back in a little cul-de-sac polishing his collection of D&D cleric gear. And seeing this is always welcome in the Maggot Lair!

Right.. so I finally got some time to play this weekend and I pressed on the last few hours. Foebuyl was checked last time when she resqued Decard Cain, this time she is standing at the gates of Harrogath staring out to the flood of demons.
I'm not going to list her entire gear I'll just make some nice highlights :)

My damage.. 380-596 per attack :eek: and that's without the 1-2 cold dmg, 1-6 lightning dmg, 60-80 poison dmg.
2211 AR. Enough to get a 78% cth on Diablo.
336 HP
My resists.. 68/75/75/62 Man did those help against Diablo's fire and lightning attacks.
5% ML and 15% LL keeps me as safe as can be.
53% FHR
Half freeze duration

Pretty good if you ask me, still there were some bottle necks when fighting the foe's of the land. As I ventured trough the realm on p8 the only things that could threaten Foebuyl were unleachables. I cubed two claws with lifeleech, socketed them with skulls and I was about invincible from mid act 2. I lowered the settings down to p1 for Duriel and Mephisto, but both went down too easy. Duriel killed my merc and Mephisto my shadow, but hey... they didn't touch me. The chaos sanctuary was scary enough. I got hit by IM twice when attacking and both times I went down to about 1/3rd of my life. I did all the seal bosses and Diablo himself on p1.
Diablo was annoying. His fire circle took out my shadow (at least to a flinter of life) and the lightning or fire attacks killed my merc. I recasted my shadow and ran around a little untill I thought ''dammit.. what the hell...'' and I ran up to Diablo.
The effect astounded me.. his cold claw didn't freeze for too long and his other attacks didn't hurt me too much. I could leech all that back. When he shot out his lightning beam my finger was hoovering over a full rejuvenating potion, but then I just hit a greater healing potion and all was well. His firestorm hurt even less. Me > him :D
I did play all the time on p8 to get to level 30 before Diablo, but now I think I'll continu the path trough act 5 too. That way I'll get a respectable level when I reach the ancients. They actually scare me less then Diablo. We'll see.

AzureSky, the Bash&Shout Barb has been exploiting the Bash synergy to doubleswing his way through Act 2 and is now at the Spider Forest WP in Act 3. Duriel was tough - we had to TP to town four times before the slug went down.

I've restored Wizardhawk and Azul in the fallen heroes category, and updated PetePizza's Smurfette, Sint's Foebuyl and myself.

3rd attempt (every one keeps updating the table before I post - d'oh)

Update: 12 WP, 6 Quests finished, clvl 19 = 5 points (I think). Stash was full so I rushed Halls of Dead to get the cube. Immediately started cubing the 9 chipped diamonds I found in act1 - nothing better than the Jagged Spetum of Maiming I bought as soon as I hired my merc :( . Act1 was a breeze, little slow in spots on /p8, and even had to retreat to town a couple of times. Found the unique scimitar & unique axe, no sets, so far.

Edit: ARRGH! Quickdeath's edit & my post have probably got the table off again. one moment please and I'll try to fix this.

Edit2: hopefully that does it. If not, I give up.

Um... Sint, I hate to point this out, but I think the rules state that we can only socket with sapphires and blue jewels.

Hm.. you are right... :rolleyes: I totally forgot about that rule.

From this point on I can do three things...
1. Freeze my character and wait for skunk to return from holiday to deceide on what is going to happen.
2. Recube the claws and go on like nothing happened.
3. Drop out.

In my defence, the skulls add 4% ll and 2% ml. At the time I cubed / socketed them I allready had both life and mana leech... Anyway, it's up to all of you people. If I'd pay more attention or noted it earlier it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem, but I had this advantage now for 3 full acts. So, it's up to you people... man.. I should pay more attention :mad:

No, the best you can do is stack Half Freeze Duration, and keep a belt column or two with Thawing potions.

Sadly, it seems overuse of mind blast screwed me in the end. Didn't have enough mana, tried to charge up cobra strike to regain life... got the second charge, went for the third, and had no mana. Discharged against a skeleton, no leech... got hit, my gloves of frost sheild activated, frost nova'd the dozen or so death beetles surrounding me in Tal's Tomb.

@DX - I think you've got it in the wrong order, it's:

2 pts/quest finished + 1pt/WP - 1pt/clvl

With that math I think you're at +5, not -3. I updated the table once today & it took me 18 tries, someone else will have to fix it.

DX has done correctly, 4 quests (countess) = 8 points ;)

Thanks Jianz, I'm going to recube my claws and finish normal tonight :D Let's just hope I do better then last tourney, I got in NM as quick as I did now but then got severly severed.
 
Sint, iirc, speed does not matter. :p

Illuminatus is currently sitting in Lut Gholein after a pretty easy fight with Andy. I switched down to players 1 at the Outer Cloister because I didn't want to mass-level. So he's only level 18. Cleansing (heals 13 per 2 seconds) mixed with my mercenary's prayer, made both of them close to invincible. The only thing that could penetrate that insane regeneration was Radament's poison (not the one he breathes on you, the one he carries on his scythe-hand). Even then, cleansing made the duration short enough to bear, and they slaughtered Radament. ;)

Level 18 = -18
7 Quests = +14
11 Waypoints (including town, I believe) = +11
So my final score is now at 7.
