(disclaimer) me going early is just because I felt I had a legit reason to do so (less playtime then normally), if you start early because I have done so, you're doing it by your own responcibillity. If the mass deceides against me and you started early because of me.. then I wasn't the one who screwed you over.

A bit high of a level, but I want to reach level 30 before Diablo. After that I'm likely to tone down to /p1.

Geez, it's a mutiny!

No big deal, given that the tournament is two months long, and there is no reward for finishing first chronologically. But I hereby dock all the early starters one "1337 1t3m" of my choice, should they win the tournament and claim the prize

After all, I'm going on vacation for eight days starting tomorrow, so I'm gonna be way behind!

I'll be away on vacation from tomorrow morning through the afternoon of July 9th, so I will be unable to make rule judgements, etc., during that time. I will designate a Deputy to handle any questions in my absence.

Got all the way up to the outer cloister waypoint, at level 16... don't think I've EVER been this level at this point. All quests to that point finished.

my first update

"And so it begins..."

Today I took AllBlues the Werebear out adventuring for the first time. Had
some trouble early on in the Den before I hit lvl 6 (when I was still Lvl 2 I found a Scepter w/Required Lvl 6, forcing me to go nekkid), but once I got to Lvl 6 and got Werebear things got a lot easier. As I progressed thru Act 1 I powered up Maul once I hit Lvl 12, then got Fire Claws at 18.

I spent some time gambling and eventually came away with a Bronze Battle Axe of the Bat. Mana leech is very helpful for my character, I am hoping to find a ring with that property soon. I don't have any life leech right now, however.

Also not sure whether to go Oak Sage or HoW at this point, I've placed just one pt in Oak Sage for now and will probably leave it at that until I decide.

Anyway, Andariel went down easily. She killed my minions a few times but couldn't really hurt AllBlues and his massive life pool. Once into Act 2 I dumped Abhaya the rogue merc (who, thanks to Oak Sage, survived the whole Act up until Andy), and hired Neeraj the Defensive merc.

Score Calculation:
Lvl 20 = (-20)
Quests = Sisters to the Slaughter (+12)
WPs = Sewers Lvl 2 (+10)
Score = 2

its kinda funny a few days ago i was rushing to start... now im not even in the blood moor yet, by choice ill prob start later tonight and get to act 2 and be lvl 20 by then (might aswell lvl asmuch as i can early on so i dont die due to lack of skill in nm/hell)

eh, yeah, im out. i took my assassin out ofr a spin. a few monster later a blue bow dropped. so, having read the rules i realized i must take the 1st blue item. so, i take it, and clear the 1st 2 maps, den of evil included, when suddenly, i realize that a bow is range and not melee!!

so, that means im disqualified. for being stupid.

kinda an anti-climax waiting a week to get starting on the tourney, and then making a stupid error. oh well.

IMO, Mordalles shouldn't be disqualified. It was an honest mistake and he only cleared the first couple of maps with the bow. We all make mistakes.

Found a blue club in the first chest I opened, was glad it wasn't something I couldn't use tho, so I was never weaponless. Finished den at level 6. Did /players 1 for blood raven, killed her, then back to players 8 til Andy. Couple near deaths to bone archer champion + boss pack double teams, and once to a horde of dark ones who got me trapped and managed to dodge about 12 attacks in a row.

Killed Andy on /players 4 in record time with charged strike. Wow I didn't think she would drop so fast, although i've read that CS will slaughter the bosses. Got a bunch of rares to sell. On to Act 2.

Payed Fazel the offensive mercenary a hefty sum of money to join me in my journey, and together we cleared the sewers and exterminated radimant. Atma gave me her thanks, and that's it for now.

Using a 5% life leech brandistock with +34 attack rating at the moment. I think i'm gonna have to use polearms for my merc, considering i'll want the spears for myself, but we'll see. He has a hard time living right now, I need to level him up a bit I think.

Score:
Quests = 7 x 2 = 14
Waypoints = 11 x 1 = 11 (town waypoints count for points, right?)
Level = 19 x -1 = -19
Total = 25 - 19 = 6

EDIT:
Turns out Fazel was a defective mercenary who never turned his aura on (had him in halls of the dead fighting for 10 minutes and he didn't use it), so, he was replaced by chalan the defensive merc with a Poleaxe of the Leech I gambled. 4% life leech and the defense aura and he seems to be able to hold his own against a skelly or 2.

Was me who asked about town WP's, thanks skunk. Hopefully I won't be one of those rips in 9 days :lol: .

It appears I have jumped out to the early lead. That's what playing for a few hours in a day will do, I guess...

Anyway, I haven't made much in terms of progress (I'm up to Far Oasis WP now), I just got a surprising result from a cubing recipe that I wanted to share.

So in bear form I attack so slowly it's starting to annoy me. (anyone know when IAS can start spawning on gloves?) So after getting the cube I tried the "Savage Polearm" recipe for the first time, wanting a Savage Scythe of the Bat or something of that nature.

My first result was not very good and I threw it out. The second time I got this, and my eyes bugged out.

I was level 22 when I cubed this. Seems pretty good to me...the only bad thing is the level requirement, since this might be worthless by the time I get to 37. Still might be a serviceable merc weapon, though. Anyone know the odds of getting the evisceration suffix? (Savage prefix is automatic)

I will definitely start using this cube recipe more, since it is basically free to use if you have diamonds to spare and you can buy a staff without +skills on it.

I might play some more tonight, but not much.

quests are only worth 2 points each, so it'd be 14 for wps + 14 for quests = 28, - 23 for level.
So, 28 - 23 = 5 which should be your score.

My sin just made it to act 2 too, players 8 all the way. Didn't even need to use potions on Andy, but my merc sadly died right at the beginning, (doh for no resurrecting em) was hoping for amplify damage from the bow I had given her before she died, but no.

Gambled most of my equipment for big damage/defence. I had dual claws, other with 5% ll and some resist, other with 5%ml. Act 1 was a cakewalk. The shadow was really helpful also! Killed at roughly half my speed (well, would had, if not for not so perfect AI).

Had to take a screeny of my sin, cos she was sooooo cool.
