How is D2 these days?

I'm a veteran Diablo player, I played on USEast for quite some time, quitting a bit before 1.10 came out, then I came back and played 1.10 for a short time(finding the Ith weapons and whatnot to my disliking).

Now I'm thinking about coming back to play again. However before I invest countless hours of my life into this game once again, I'd like a status update!

How are the servers? Do they go down all the time due to dupers or anything like that?

Are there dupers galore?
Are there ITH/Zephyr weapons?
Is the economy completely screwed?
What's cool about the new patch?
Is the cow level still screwed?

What's good and what's bad about Diablo II these days?

4) New world events(Uber diablo/Uber Meph/Uber Baal) you get a new charm similar to anni from them , few new runewords and thats about it really

recently, a new dupe method was made public and blizzard has done nothing to stop it. Because of all the duping, the majority of the servers have been laggy A LOT.

Dupers because even worse than 1.09

Are there ITH/Zephyr weapons?
New powerful rune words make those ITH/Zephyrs dead.

Is the economy completely screwed?
Yes.

What's cool about the new patch?
New rune words and skill sync.

Is the cow level still screwed?
Not a lot of people do cow level now.

And it is 1.11b now and have a new Torch you can enjoy.

well cow level is only useful in the beginning to level your characters early on.

all are pretty bad right now. From all the lag i heard about, europe might be on the lower end.

the situation is very bad atm, tons of dupes and unplayable lag in every second game (on europe server)
blizzard seems to be doing nothing to stop it

the only solutions for blizzard is to do a ruststorm and a ladder reset.

and of course to patch the dupe exploit.

They're making plenty of money off of WoW anyways!

D2 is a true mess of its older self. I've played on and off since 1.03 and I've seen a lot of messy situations but this looks like an abandoned game to me.

Blizzard should make pay to play servers, with guaranteed security and cheat/hack free. I for one would gladly pay to be able to play without worries.

Well i am disappointed that they removed the 1.09 3chips+ sword = magical 3 socketed sword recipe instead of extending it to other items :/ Actually just for an idea of how screwed up the economy is: 20pgems gets u a rune like ber/zod on West lol In .09 HOZ costs like a 7%mfsc or a 100pdsc but these days i see them going for 5+ high runes. Ya for something that nightmare Memphisto can drop! I quit once (but they all come back ) and the only thing that keeps me going is to find that super cool ethereal 450 ed rare weapon Runewords have become so awfully overpowered that it makes cool self made/found magicals/rares/crafted items irrelevant I've seen cheeky necros make iron golems out of revered .09 stuff like grandfather cb and doombringer cs lol

Or better yet, they should've given every char 1,000,000 HP and 100k base damage at lvl1. Then the game would rock!

really having trouble figuring out what that has to do with what he said. are you insinuating that he wants everything given to him? the runewords of today are much more powerful than a 3 socketed magic sword.

True, but that old 3 chipped recipe was still overpowered. Albeit not as stupidly overpowered as some runewords.
